This one wounded me to my core as a kid. I hated this fiery man, and yet, he proved to be better than us all. May Fire forever blaze. May the Beast One Day Fall.
I love how human like everyone is with their emotions. How Pyrus sighs with sorrow after his speech to his people. How Graveheart slighly scoffs at the Vizier's realization that they are indeed looking for Fire's best interests. So few episodes, and so much being told.
Vizier was amazing but can we talk about how great Pyrus was as well? Always composed, organizing the evacuation, the speech and especially when he insisted to be the last one to leave the planet only after all his people had been saved. What any great and honorable king would do. And he did it on his own, the vizier was not there for any of it. No wonder the Vizier was confident Pyrus would be fine after his death. He also saw he had real allies by his side.
Pryus started as the "unpolished jewel" of the show, having to command a whole planet at a super young age. Slowly started to trust his new allies, but I feel this was the turning point. He became a competent leader after everything was taken from him. Everything but the people he is meant to be a leader of. And this was supposed to be a kids' show of all things!
There's so many subtle character details throughout the series, that kind of effort just doesn't happen anymore. The bone emperor starts to grow up and be more of a leader, King Mantle has a strong sense of honor despite being arrogant and cruel. There's even some subtle behavior from the beast, The heroes can't hurt it but they won't let it feed, It gets angrier and more aggressive as it pursues them.
Cripes, these Mainframe cartoons are just so amazingly written. The one-two gutpunch of Dinobot and TransMutate in back-to-back episodes of "Beast Wars," and now the Grand Vizier in this show . . . I'm going to have to lie down for a bit . . . .
Vizier was one of the more complex characters in this show. Just like Mantel, he was stuck in the past. His entire life, he'd been at war with Rock, Ice and Bone and couldn't adapt to the changing times. But when he witnessed Graveheart saving his beloved Prince, risking great injury or even death he finally understood that he'd been wrong - just as he admits to Pyrus in the end. Unlike Mantel, he had someone he truly cared about and it allowed him to see past his lifelong hatred and mistrust. His sacrifice...as futile as it was...will not be forgotten. As Pyrus said: "This Universe will never know your like again."

Yes, but crippling it would've _majorly pi$$ed off_ the dimension god of the Null Matter universe - The Beast, and I don't think the Alliance would like that. Shadow Raiders may have ended much like Final Space.
I like how the Vizier had already changed his mind about Pyrus allies but was too stubborn and proud to admit he was wrong about them. Only in his last moments, he was capable of telling them the truth. It s like they said: *In their last moments, people show you who they really are*

They don't make'em like these anymore. This show was made in the 90s on computers that were practically potato clocks compared to today's technology, yet the art design and animation makes these graphics look better than most animated shows today. You can tell that they used advanced techniques rather than advanced hardware to create something that looks superior to today's animated shows. It's a lost art.
Its not just the looks. Its the core. This show has well written characters and stories that can actually teach valuable lessons to the young ones watching them. This kind of excellent writing is what has been forgotten. Most of todays cartoons have no soul. They are weak consuming garbage.

I’m surprised no one has asked the important question: who built the world engines and why. Obviously their purpose is to flee the beast planet, but just asks more questions then it answers. Too bad these questions will remain unanswered.
Farewell Vizier, you like died like you lived, like a boss! With any luck the Beast Planet won't be able to feed for a while with the damage Planet Fire did to its claw before it was consumed. I have to wonder though, if all four major planets of the Cluster are dependent on one another's resources for their very survival, shouldn't that mean they're all doomed to die out anyway even if the Beast Planet doesn't eat their worlds? I don't know what the other planets raided Fire for exactly (probably fuel resources I'd imagine), but without Planet Fire's resources lost forever, the other planets are screwed unless they can find another world with similar resources...Granted, the main issue right now is finding new homes for the people of Fire AND stopping the Beast Planet from consuming more worlds, but these are still longterm ramifications to consider seeing as that the only reason why all four planets were at each other's throats for centuries was because they couldn't survive without each other's stuff.
I had this thought about what was important from fire but it might have been heat. Maybe the other worlds where to far away from the sun in their home system and fire's resources was the lava to keep their worlds able to have a certain temperature. Like Bone so it's food from freezing over. Or Rock because a place like that planet at night would be almost as cold as planet Ice. And Planet Ice could have used heat to keep their buildings and base from being frozen over after a while. But with the world engines using those shields on the worlds maybe they won't have to rely on Fire's resources for their heat now. Just a quick thought really after watching the show again.
after watching this episode a bizzilion times the battlemoons coulda done some serious damage if they attacked the beast planet when it had its doors open :o

They warned the other planets but Fire would be furthest from Alliance reinforcements (the fleet being across the system when they learn about the World Engines), so it makes sense that the Beast managed to get to them first.

It is a planet Ice ship. From the official site (that no longer exists) it's their equivalent of a heavy cruiser and fuel station for Ice's small fighters, capable of launching literal tons of ice as ammo. This episode is the one and only time it's seen.
Say, how big are the planets in this system actually? They are different from each other, but the evacuated fire planet could fit all of it's inhabitants on 3 battle moons. The number of people would fit one country by our standards, but then the planets would actually be quite smaller than Earth and planets in our system.
Apparently, all 5 of the Cluster's planets are all of a listed size of medium. Which we could only guess that they are all of a similar size to Earth or Venus. The Prison planet is probably the only exception, since it is said to be asteroid-sized, but was once apart of a much larger planet.
Not a lot of Black Holes just lying around and the Beast Planet was eating their whole Solar System. There was no time and frankly a black hole would be an even worse threat.

It actually destroys Beast Planet and most of its forces... but... then they look on in horror as the cosmic gigantic horror that THE BEAST emerges from the singularity - _its absolutely mad as hell they hurt it_ - and it blames Graveheart. Season 3 ends on a cliffhanger for the final fourth season.
