Hello, the source is from George Ash’s interview, which was published in George Turner's "Traits of Indian Character". This is a narrative and should be taken as secondhand. It's heavily implied that they ate this man because they were starving and desperate.

Wachisu isn't an Ojibwe Chippewa nor Metis word.
Wacichu is a Lakota Sioux word.
