I'm planning on buying a bike soon. I've never owned one before and know very little. I have ridden dirt bikes and understand the basic shifting and maneuvering. Everything I've read has said to get something light weight and easy to maneuver but I don't want something that's categorized as a "chick bike". I don't really care what people think of me but If im spending a few grand I dont wanna look stupid on it either. I REALLY like the Indian chief dark horse but I don't want to spend that kind of money in case it turns out I'm not that into riding....would you recommend a fury? If not what would you suggest. I have a 2016 Honda Fury after owning two previous motorcycles and this has been my favorite thing to ride. He said it best about it riding like a Cadillac. It’s powerful enough but since it’s shaft-drive, it’s incredibly smooth. Handling in curves is not bad like you’d think with the longer forks. The seat is comfortable but the handlebars are too low for me only because I’m taller. Forward controls are comfortable but if you are shorter it might not be as easy to hold that riding position longer distances. Overall this is an awesome bike

Awesome bike. Now riding my 3rd. Never any problems. Every day it passes the HD dealership that's filled with overpriced and waiting to be repaired Wisconsin brands without a second thought. Could use a 6th gear but I really dont need to do 120mph on a public street. Great platform for customizations. Small tank but stateline tank adds another gallon capacity. Rode over 3000 miles last summer loaded down with saddle and sissybar bags, bedroll and tent. Yes its a Japanese bike. Yes its a chopper. Yes it gets asked alot if questions and gets a lot of pic requests. But no it does not look like any of the 10 million HDs out there. And at $10-20,000 cheaper to do the same thing as one does on a "hog..."just riding, its pretty nice ass bike.

I was off of bikes 15 yrs. Driving home one day a commercial came on from a local dealer telling "me" to "come get ya a bike ya know you wan to.." I pulled in walked around asked questions etc when I spotted a bike still in its crate on the delivery truck. Couldnt really tell what it was but I could see it was different. Salesman "oh thats the new Fury. Come check this baby out." (I rode a 2012 cpl years ago so knew what THAT one rode like) He pulled the cover off the crate...I bought it right then and there. Still crated! No tires or seat yet. No lights. Had to wait 2 days to pick it up. LOVE this bike. 18 months and 9,800 miles later...I still do. Like to have another gallon of gas but ok I stretch my legs at 130-140 miles lol. Have rode NC to NYC and NC to Chicago and was a joy. 6th gear would better but even at 80-85 on interstate it never lagged and I passed traffic whenever I wanted. Thought bout trading or selling for a HD or Indian. But nah. They can wait til next year...Im keeping my Fiona!!!

The problem with trying to bob this bike is the frame cut. I owned one and wanted to do that myself but it makes it sketchy to me. But they are a blast to ride. More of a bike show or bar hopper bike. It can't hang on the interstate because of the speeds and the gas range for the tank is 120 miles or so. So it is not made to be more than what choppers are for.

I always wondered what if i spent the same money on the honda and made it awesome. It's had 4, maybe 5 clutches, a few fork seals, probably 20 or so sets of tires, and countless oil changes, and 1 set of throttle cables. The guy is a super commuter at 180mi a day. Okay.. gave you "hands off the keyboard until the end" as you requested. And, at/near the end you seemed to enjoy the ride... but... whatcha' got there is pretty much a 'stocker.' Aftermarket pipes but still baffled, stock intake, which probably means no fuel-ignition tweak. So... put on a hi-flow intake, a dyna-tuned PCV or flashed ECU, yank the baffles outta those Cobra sweeps and THEN you got a BEAST. At 1300cc's it won't make 'tons' of HP, but it WILL scoot. Those who scoff at choppers have probably never rode one ... coz it's totally BITCHIN'! The geometry, rake & trail, of the FURY was really well thought out so it handles awesome. At that intersection... hell dude, you had 1.5 acres to make that U-ey and, like you found out with the peg scrapes, you can cut it pretty tight. Confidence & skills are more a factor than the bike. The Fury is not for wimps or introverts. Everywhere I go it gets stared at. People gawk and gather around asking questions. It's a fun way to meet other riders and way more fun to ride. Like Adam says, "Get the damn bike!"

Take a ride on the Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom if you can. I was skeptical as all hell by the tiny front tire possibly washing out on a turn but I was completely wrong. Rides like a Cadillac as well. Of coarse the rear tail section ruins the look but the rest of the factory look is pretty damn good for an off the lot bike that’s a cruiser with some low slung chopper essence to it. Just needs a few more dbs of exhaust note and she’s a solid rider in my opinion if you’re not looking for arm ripping off power but you still want a solid amount of low end grunt.

Choppers have been around since the 1950's and huge in the 60's and 70's. chopper comes from the the action of cutting the goose neck and adjusting the rack of the front forks. increasing the wheel base gives a smoother and more comfortable ride at the cost of handling at slow speeds in tight places. Choppers will always have a place in the motorcycle world they made fade for 20 years or so but they will be back.
