The movie they're referencing where the guys wear suits going around shooting people and eating cheeseburgers is Pulp Fiction. Great show, and Sister Michael is absolutely hilarious.
To understand the show u have to know its based on the troubles in Ireland. Like the civil war at the time. That’s the entire premise of the show (based on the actual experience of the creator growing up during the time). The show is about all these crazy things happening politically and all (like the check ins on the bus with military and all and the actual aggression with british folk) while teenagers are still going through teenagers’ typical worries. They adapt into the new normal for them, but there’s always moments when reality does mix in. Its brilliant!!!! And a little heartbreaking in the moments the show does look at the bigger picture with what is happening. Also remember is a war at the time based in religion too (which they will talk about) protestants vs Catholics. Their town is Catholic (as you probably see based on the school)
They explained before getting on the bus that it was decided that it would be too dangerous to send James to the boy’s school. Because of the many different accents, and overlapping dialogue and rapid-pace dialogue and dialogue that is delivered somewhat off-screen or under the breath, it may help to watch the series with captions/subtitles turned on.
she didn't give permission to pee in the corner - in irish schools if you misbehave - you were sent to stand in the corner - a bit like the naughty step!
Friends was in current day during the 90s, (first 5.5 seasons) & the beginning of Dawson creek was in the late 90s, but retro 90s shows are just getting popular. Yellowjackets takes place partially in the 90s.
Joe! I've been subscribed to you for a while, back when you were doing reactions to Friends (I was there from the beggining) then you finished that and I continued subscribed but hadn't watched any other reactions from you since. Suddenly I see a reaction to Derry girls on my recommended and I clicked without reading the channel name thinking it was a random reactor, then turns out it was you! 😂 Maybe it's a bit silly but it felt like running into an old friend 😂 Glad we cross paths again on another reaction series
Oooh yeeeees that’s a BRILLIANT show 🥳 Edit: idk if it’s you watching an Irish show, but your accent and English slang kinda skyrocketed in this reaction 😂
Omg if you think all priests and nuns are played the same you need to watch Fleabag, a priest is one of the main characters in Season 2. Actually you should watch (and react) to Fleabag anyway because it's amazing!
I watch the series "Great british baking" and I saw an ep with this cast on it, it was a special episode. I thought the entire was so hilarious so I decided to give the show a chance. Had never ever even heard of the show. It pleasantly surprised me. Season 1 was so funny. My fav was def. sister Michael, omg she's the best. I also love Claire and Erin at different times.

Most of the actors are from Northern Ireland; some are from the South and a very few are English.

Buffy's timeframe was set in the present, which was from 1997 to 2003. So far, I dont have an opinion on this show.
