A friend of mine invited me to an unmatched tournament on his birthday just for fun. However... I thought it was kinda unfair he was the only one who knows how to play so I really appreciate this video sense I'm using it to try and even the odds!
Go get em! I recommend trying to pick up Sinbad, Bigfoot and Medusa as a new player but really you should play whatever character speaks to you thematically and go from there! This game has a lot to explore so go have fun! Let me know how the tournament goes!
Thanks! Glad to hear it helps! I like doing these videos because they are like mini-strategy guides that can give people a taste for the characters and give me a chance to quickly analyze them when they enter the roster. I then get more time to make the real guide with more detail and accurate strats. Seems like a win-win!
Wow! Apparently, Daredevil will be a powerful character, recursion works wonders :) With such a small number of unique cards, Daredevil has everything he needs. Can't wait to see it in action.
Recursion is a wonderful thing, and the low amount of unique cards (and cards in general) will certainly do wonders to help his consistency. Should be a fun character to pilot once you know your optimal recursion loops
Daredevil is my number 1 favorite superhero, I was so happy to see the Hell's Kitchen set, glad to see Elektra and Bullseye, do wish Kingpin was a character aswell, but I'll take what I can get. I'm glad he seems pretty good was a little worried at first when he was focused on Blind Boosting and well, Spike and Willow... but I was still going to main him anyways, can't wait to get more games in
His blind boosting is for sure less risky than Spike and Willow, so I'm somewhat glad to see them return to the mechanic in a less self-harmful way. As for Kingpin, there was an interview a designer did somewhere (maybe Defender Resolves First or Marvel Champions Monthly, can't remember) where they thought about making Kingpin and then quickly realized he wouldn't be a super interesting character. I forget exactly what was said but something along the lines of 'he does everything from the shadows and we already have Invisible Man'
That's fair, I would think almost something like having 2 sidekicks, Wesley having more health, then hired guns with 1 health each as something they could do, but I'm not a game designer I just play them
Hi, i have a question, if you play "Devil of Hell`s Kitchen" card, but you have 3 or less cards in your discard pile, could you play effect of this card (return less then 4 top cards of youd deck)? Or you must have 4 or more cards in discard pile for using it?
As far as I've played, daredevil basically doesn't ever need to worry about exhaustion and thinking of the number of cards "spent" is kind of a trap. He's a lot more fun and a lot better if you play him like that.
It might be impossible to exhaust him 😳 Maybe someone like Sherlock or Bigfoot who have enough cancels/hand disruption to mess up his DoHK cycles, but I think most characters will be helpless
I haven't played DD much yet, but have played against him a couple times and holy crap is he tough to beat. He just has so much health and can take so many hits for days and most characters will just run out of steam against him I think
Having 5 cancels for all the 'Devil of Hells Kitchens' doesn't hurt either 😁 I think you beat this character by aggro-ing him, and it certainly helps if you can get a lot of big hits in doing so
Daredevil really looks like a character that just never meets exhaustion, unless you try to be risky and do your big hits on empty deck which seems as a horrible idea unless two damage you do over feint will end game. Also especially deadly against no feint characters. Brings bigfoot back to meta? Ps. Aw you said it. And you said that only disadvantage is card draw. And you said it too. Snap. So this set is just pure aggro. Also-he certanly goes after Invisibke man.
Bigfoot seems a lot better now after these two new Marvel sets than he did after boLv2 and yeah I think DD can cycle pretty much infinitely so other characters will for sure have to end the game before exhaustion
Have you found a way to properly trigger it's ability? I just find having to have 2 cards to do it, it is too risky and leaves your defense to exposed... So I would love to know the way you play him
You should’ve edited the videos to 30, 22, and 20 min. ;) DD’s power will be best to use when you already have your recursion in hand. All of my plays with/against him so far have seen facepalm moments where the blind boosts(or healing discard) milled a key card to keep the cycle going.
Omg those edits would have been so clever hahahahaha I have only played big hand DD so far and I really don't see the advantage of being able to blind boost everything. Seems way too risky with too little payoff. If you play normally and just use DoHK to recycle I think he's much better 🤷♂️
@@bornofashes I breather to get back feinted DoHKs, OR I’ll play breather for something else if I know I’m about to play DoHK so the breather gets recycled too
Do you have any ideas how "DEVIL OF HELL'S KITCHEN" works with Sun Wukongs "Fiery Eyes That See" card. Obviously if Sun Wukong puts some card on ther bottom of Dardevil's deck and the latter has to shuffle his caeds to deck... you don't know longer which card is on the bottom of the deck.
Yeah, seems like a good way to stop SWK from burying cards. I bet DD is actually great against SWK because the monkey doesn't have any cancels to stop recursion. Also, DD gets to the bottom of his deck pretty quick so cards getting buried isn't too much of an issue for him anyway I don't think
@@noahduncan4095 that's actually a cool tool against Ambush and all such stuff. looping cards looking crazy in first glance. Looking forward to test him.
Side note, you looked a little like Jake Gyllenhaal for a second when you were matching up your head with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen card. Maybe it's just me tho....
I really hope he won't be as powerful as you suggest because this deck leaves really little potential counterplay. Of course, you can ban him then but do we need a new must-ban character? If he will have at least one mid/high tier counter who's playable into other top tier characters he will be "just" strong. Like Sinbad to Yennenga
He's really cool, but he's not as strong as he looks I don't think. For reference, I've lost all 4 games I've played as him (vs Moon Knight, Medusa x2, and Spike). I think his lack of draw and his low value defenses hurt more than you might expect. So a ranged fighter like Medusa or Robin who has plenty of draw should still be just fine because they can overwhelm DD. I'm really looking forward to playing him more though
@@BakedGoods Might lead to you starring in an own hero tv-series. Could never have enough cow protagonists, since sadly they're widely underrepresented. Also, your Rodney Smith impersonation filled my heart with joy!
My guess about heroies is that: *Daredevil* S or A tier. *Bullseye* A tier *Elektra* B or C tier What you think? Ps. Thanks for the videos, they are great. Watched with great pleasure.
Glad you enjoyed Vahid! I like those guesses! I am unsure of the exact positioning but I think all of these heroes will be B tier at worst I currently think DD is the best, followed by Elektra and then Bullseye, just because I have tested Bullseye more and found a lot of bad matchups 😬 but we'll see, I'm sure we are over estimating certain things of Daredevil that we will discover in about a month or so
How about a video on sidekick strategies? I would really like to see one dealing with characters with 3-4 sidekicks and the best ways to use them.
👀
@@BakedGoods
Oh yeah that a super good idea. I'd be interested about a sidekick tier list and why you rank them in each tier?

😂
Bigfoot and Alice seem really good vs him, considering they can consistently hit him for 1 or 2 over his blocks.

I think you beat this character by aggro-ing him, and it certainly helps if you can get a lot of big hits in doing so
The problem is that when he is low on cards he can blindboost his deffenses and that is 5 or 6 on deffense so yeah very strong overall

How Blind boost works?
You discard the top card of your deck and add its boost value to the value of your card
Thanks

Do you decide if you’re blind boosting before seeing the card the enemy is defending with or after?
After, it activates during combat after both cards are revealed
Yup, after (so you have full information 🧠)
You cannot blind boost Daredevils attack/defense if he plays no card
