Let's go! Love how playing with Achilles has a lot more nuance in its strategy, specifically with Pat, timing the death right, and essentially playing with two different "phases". Thanks for the strategy guide, BG!
Great guide! I think you hit the nail on the head with Achilles here, he’s a simple character on the surface but dance of killing Pat, the mind games of feinting him while big, and the ramping intensity of the fatigue timer make for a lot of interesting decisions and is some of the best of Unmatched.

Thanks so much for another fantastic Unmatched character guide! Your guides always show how much strategy and nuance goes into playing the game and this is why I love Unmatched so much! I know it may be quite a bit to ask but are you planning to make guides for most of the characters in the long run?
I wonder how strong move 3 Achilles would be (as someone who don't own the game yet). Would he be as strong as characters considered top tier like Medusa or Yannenga? Because otherwise I think thematically it was a mistake to have swift footed Achilles as a move 2 character (specially since they seem to have done a fine job with his theme otherwise). Great video by the way, been enjoying these while the game is not available in my country.
All else as is, Move 3 Achilles would be *substantially better* as then it would be near impossible to out run him. Boosting up to 5 spaces becomes A LOT easier (now Pat cards can move you 5 not 4) and therefore he can land a lot more attacks and therefore damage. He would no longer RELY on Helm and Test for boosting and only on maybe 2-3 fringe maps would they actually be crucial. HMMM maybe this is the beginning of an Unmatched What If series???
Yeah that match stung just a little, boy did I get wrecked lol I think into Elektra you don't want to kill Pat early, you want to use things like Handshake, Day of Doom (no damage) and even Battle Hardened on the Hand so that when Elektra dies you still have two fighters on the board to deal with the second wave of sidekicks and you don't succumb to exhaustions super quickly Mesmerize is gonna ruin your Battle Hardened loop with stinks but the best you can do is get through the first life quickly so that maybe she doesn't draw Mes and/or you don't draw BattHard right away Elektra is tough to beat!
