    My favorite video because I have the Chameleon hammock. I first watched the other video Sparrow vs Chameleon and decided to buy the Chameleon based on what Mark had to say. I love my hammock.

    I have the moonlight top cover and I was talking to Dutch, you can actually unzip the top half the window and clip to the bottom at either side. This brings the material across you to create a breathalyzer as well.

    So this was a great review, it peaked my interest. I’m a bigger man at 6’ 4” and 275 and have a hard time camping with family. So I visited the Dutch website and I was surprised at how affordable the basic set up is. The only thing that was expensive was the under quilt and top quilt. Otherwise for comfort seems worth the expense. Thanks again for the information.

    I'm new to hammocking and looking to purchase my first: the 11ft chameleon. Being that i am in upstate NY the nights vary from about 70F to 55F. I was looking to add bug protection as I am right on a lake however I can't decide weather to go with a bugnet or moonlight top cover as it has more ventilation compared to a normal top cover. If somebody could help that I would be very appreciated: around what temperature would you start adding in the top cover? Would the moonlight option be too hot during the summer and should I go with the bugnet instead?

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would suggest going with the bugnet. The ventilation it provides is going to help on those warmer nights. The covers, including the moonlight cover, does hold in more heat, and a lot more condensation. I only use the top covers when it gets below 35 degrees. Thanks!

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see any reason you would ever need to. And if you did I think that it would end up sloppy on the side you stacked them. You could do one on each side, but again I don't see any way you would need that much storage, each is pretty huge on their own.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patriot / Kenneth Burlingham everyone prefers something different, but for me and at least a few others I’ve spoken with, the wide is too wide. However, we’re all well under 6’ tall, if you’re tall you may want/need the wide.

    Question, how does one know whether you are laying head right or left?

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be most comfortable in a hammock you want to be as flat as possible. To get flat, laying diagonally is important. Some people are more comfortable with their head on the right side of the hammock, and others are more comfortable with their heads to the left side of the hammock. Note your feet will be the opposite side! Thanks! Hope this helps.

  • @Datsyzerberg
    @Datsyzerberg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Mark, check this out
    I used that moonlight top cover the past 2 nights and figured out another trick with it during the day. More than a winter sock I feel it gives you more venting options to take it to warmer temps. 55 at night. 0 condensation.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
      @SpiguyverBackpacking1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, wasn’t trying to be an ass about it. What they released was a far cry from what I tested as their final prototype. The fabric is much too stretchy, the hammock is too heavy, and the whole SN business plan is shitty, in my opinion. I have laid in the Ninox production model and would not recommend it to anyone, especially at their price, there are so many better options on the market.

    • @SpiguyverBackpacking1
