It will forever live in my head that the red-headed got super excited over the idea of having two dads when aliens disguised themselves as his “fathers”.
I watched this show as it came out on Cartoon Network, and while it wasn't my favourite, I was always excited for new episodes. And honestly, it might have been exactly that wacky, comedic tone that endeared me to the show. It very much seemed like it wasn't trying to be emotional or deep. And it was episodic, with maybe a dash of a larger story. Which meant I could "turn my brain off" as you put it and just enjoy something that very much took itself unseriously. That, combined with sci-fi and superheroes, was very fun for me. It gave off this odd "homey" charm of not being very good, but being able to sit through one and come out slightly happier than before. I have to clarify this is what I remember, and it's vague feelings at best. Plus, I'm not really someone to criticise a show for being average or mid. If it's kinda good, that's kinda good.
I’m going to imagine if Shope’s powers were taken to their full potential, then she’ll just one shot every villain making the team ultimately useless. But I do agree she did have wasted potential.
The character designs look fine on paper, but since it was animated in adobe flash the execution clearly shows its low budget. The movements are awkward, the backgrounds look so dull, and you can name any other sci fi animated project that did these troupes so much better
For a Flash cartoon, the animation isn't that bad actually imo. Sure, it's not in the amazing levels of Moka's Fabulous Adventures, Wander Over Yonder or BFDIA, but I think the movements are pretty good for their own right. And the backgrounds aren't really that bad. Tho, I'll admit that they are kinda dated, considering that the thick-line cartoon style isn't that relevant anymore when this show came out.
I remember having the biggest crush on tyler as a kid. Deadass i was his biggest simp for him and i had beef with amy, In my head i tried to kill her so many times with my self insert oc 😭😭😭
First time I learned about that was from comments from some random TH-camrs about if there is new season of Supernoobs or crossovers to Supernoobs. It's so annoying as hell, I doubt that guy is a bot but he truly acts like one.
Oh.. That Vicente guy... he's a spammer, but not a bot. He even goes on other videos to propose these things, and it's so blatant that you can not have a Wildbrain show crossover with a Nelvana show like "Sidekick"...
I was so invested in this show and its concept when I was younger- like I thought there would be a huge fandom. I swear there were only 4 other people who talked about the show 😭 It's a pretty good premise though! Perhaps in another world it would've blown up
Let's goooo first super noobs mention in 2024 , which is sad but also fun . I miss this show so much . And btw your suggestions at the end and imagining it as a real show . We were scammed. Overall great video !!!!!!
I never thought someone would make a video about this show. My friend brought it up in passing some time ago and it became a bit of an inside joke to mention this obscure piece of media
This is one of those shows I was moderately obsessed with as a kid for some reason, I always wanted it to be a bit more serialized. the episode where they had to interact with aliens in that party was one of my favorites based solely off the fact that it expanded the universe and showed just how little the protags were in relation to their new powers they just got. I haven't watched the episode (or show as a whole) in such a long time so I doubt they even went too far with the concept. Idk I just found it really cool as a youngin'. Sorry for making a weirdly long comment about Supernoobs 😂
i was actually thinking about this the other day! i wasn't a big fan but i occasionally think about this show. i was a very science-forward kid so i mentally checked out/got annoyed when the virus affected inanimate objects
Here's my take on it... Scott Fellows was letting JT cool down from the "heat" (pro wrestling term for fan based negativity) he got in the internet, primarily in America, which led to a massive hiatus, plus an overhaul for Season 7 on Netflix in 2020, and one that was met with positive results. Meanwhile, 2015 was a down year for animation, its top show, "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" had gone too deep in the Star x Marco stuff, that people were tired of it. Meanwhile, social media started to sow the seeds of toxicity that's still seen to this day, and that leads to unfair and baseless criticism and horrific hate art, and Vyond based garbage. Super Noobs was supposed to be "bad on purpose" (like "Spaceballs", the perfect it's so bad, it's a good film) and those things lead to "guilty pleasures" Super Noobs however, despite having an all star cast (Matt Hill, Tabitha St. Germain, Lee Tockar, and Richard Ian Cox) and a quirky design, it was served up at terrible times of the day in the market where you can't screw up... America. Like, 6:30 am. for a new episode here in Philadelphia, like Chicago is gonna watch another King of the Hill just an hour beforehand on Adult Swim's block on CN. Plus, Wildbrain assembled the show with the same issues that plagued JT from seasons 4-6... Wonky writing and an overload of SFX. However, today, the show does have a tiny following, some weirdos only watch for Shope, and some fully embrace the series for what it was from a horrible year in society, a silly 2015 sci-fi comedy about 4 kids from a suburb of Vancouver, BC, all having to become the unlikely foursome that would have to work together to save Earth from an attack by a galactic army who had once employed Mem and Zen years prior. Super Noobs gets a C+, and it is a guilty pleasure of mine since Tyler was the "down to earth" character that I enjoyed hearing from the most. Not bad, not good... The Noobs are serviceable.
I agree about the character depth. When you brought up character depth I thought of how Sailor Moon fleshed out each of the girls lives. Sailor Moon R the movie especially shows this. Like How Ami just really likes to learn but people think she is stuck up and antisocial because she is always studying and how Usagi was one of the first people to want to be friends with her. I disagree with you about the Looney Tunes physical comedy thought. I think that is fine. I like that kinda stuff. We don't get that type of comedy as much anymore from newer western Cartoons with a few exceptions like Gumball and TTG and both of those are over 10 years old.
Goofy cartoons did started to fully come back once Taffy came out. That's where we started getting Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, The Mighty Ones, Looney Tunes Cartoons and The Cuphead Show.
lmao this video is funny and actually good!!!!!!11!1 I can't believe I forgot about this show.... also I definitely agree with your changes esp since they're middle schoolers
Wow I remember this show! I used to HATE this show when it was airing just because I thought it being called “Supernoobs” was lame and it was CNs way of being “hip with the kids”. The only thing I really remember about the actual show however was the theme song that still gets stuck in my head to this day
I remember back in first grade when I used to watch this show. I crumpled a piece of paper into a ball and then used a gold marker and said it was a battleball during school
I remember enjoying the 2015 premiere and liking it a little less as a few episodes aured before it just dissapeared. By the time i found it on Hulu in 2017, i found it's appearance and title to be way too cringe and outdated for me to stomach at the time. I never gave it a second chance As a fan of the first 2½ seasons of Johnny Test and all of Big Time Rush, i miss Scott Fellows
Supernoobs has been very overhated and misunderstood back in the 2010s... and despite it being created by Scott Fellows, it didn't had much of the JT crew. Most of the crew behind this show actually worked for Jimmy Two-Shoes, Sidekick, Grojband and Camp Lakebottom if anything. I'm kinda glad people are giving the show a chance.
The Canadian cartoon industry is like a volunteer fire department, there's people who have worked on different projects for different companies all at once, especially voice actors. And speaking of voice actors... they have a talented foursome. Matt Hill of Ed, Edd, and Eddy... Tabitha St. Germain of Jimmy Two-shoes... Lee Tockar of Johnny Test... and Richard Ian Cox of Being Ian and the 1990s Black Stallion series on (what is now known as) Freeform.
Back in high school whenever I had time to kill and there wasn't anything to do besides TV i actually stayed tuned if Super Noobs was on CN. I recognized how silly, ridiculous and shallow it was overall and yet a few special aspects you listed in the video did get stuck with me as well. The simple but compact artstyle, cool suits and most importantly how peculiar it was that a conventionally beautiful girl was treated as a fellow looser. I might be exaggerating but i think it felt like being a noob bonded them in a special almost believable way. You really don't see this theme often in the media. The only other example i can think of is Sam from Danny Phantom. She, Danny and Tuck also equally shared the reputation of being uncool / unpopular in the eyes of their classmates. Nothing else comes to mind. Maybe Big Hero 6 but they're not exactly loosers so much as they're all equally nerds.
Oh yeahh yeah yeaaa this exists, seems like Supernoobs is more like supermid haha... Back when the show came out cartoon reviewers was in their angry phase which made the show hated for simply being too mediocre for its time compared to other cartoons that came out in the same year and years prior. I'm actually fr surprised the show lasted for 3 years given its low ratings n how everybody forgot about it immediately next year when a show similar in art style and writing dropped, The Loud House lol. imho while the changes u propose might've improved Supernoobs in the long run, i feel in a way, it deviates too much of what the show was trying to be, as u said theres already lots of super hero media both for kids and adults that tackles these issues/plotpoints, so nah. To me, for what little i remember, i feel like what kils SN potential is they didn't fully commit to the comedic aspects of a typical super hero and cartoon show in a self-aware type of way, personally id improve the writing to have a more biting satire angle and increase the animation budget in order to get more wacky expressions and better slapstick humor, maybe adding more depth to the characters and having some genuine moments of emotional catharsis in order to balance out the overly sarcastic bits (something even the mcu struggles with). I think a show that could be more comparable with Supernoobs is WordGirl, a show while educational, has the wacky characters, the super-hero element and the comedic writing that anyone outside of the target demographic would appreciate. Overall final rating: this that type of sh!t AnimatedJames would draw fetsh art of
i saw this show and kept thinking, its just not as good as johnny test. everything about it striked me as bland, the character designs, the theme song. There was zero passion, this was just another corpoartion making a quick and ez show for a cash grab.
HELP THIS JUST UNLOCKED *SUCH* A HIDDEN MEMORY
Nah literally
Same here
I just got hit with nostalgia
REAL
Same
This was supposed to be Teletoon's next Johnny Test but that never happened
Wasn't Johnny Test Teletoon's Johnny Test?
The first season was broadcast on Teletoon
It will forever live in my head that the red-headed got super excited over the idea of having two dads when aliens disguised themselves as his “fathers”.
I always thought the aliens were hot, but not hot enough to actually watch a full episode.
I legit shipped them because they're giving "old married couple" vibes
I watched this show as it came out on Cartoon Network, and while it wasn't my favourite, I was always excited for new episodes. And honestly, it might have been exactly that wacky, comedic tone that endeared me to the show.

@kootunesscrewy If you want a perfect flash cartoon, look at Detentionaire. The animation is smooth and the backgrounds are detailed.
Bro I used to watch this show when I was younger, I never thought I'd hear anyone talk about this thing ever again
So before House of Wayne there were the Supernoobs.
I remember having the biggest crush on tyler as a kid. Deadass i was his biggest simp for him and i had beef with amy, In my head i tried to kill her so many times with my self insert oc 😭😭😭
LMAO

I'm literally looking this type of comment
Honestly, I agree...he's a weird guy, but I won't be surprised if he's gonna comment on this video lol
I would 10/10 sit through another yap session on a cartoon
I was so invested in this show and its concept when I was younger- like I thought there would be a huge fandom. I swear there were only 4 other people who talked about the show 😭 It's a pretty good premise though! Perhaps in another world it would've blown up
It was like a fever dream
Real.
I remember this!! I watched recently with my brother, such a blast from the past for me. Glad to see more people talk about this show
Oh my gosh i never thought I'd find someone talk about this show! I used to watch it and one day it disappeared and never aired again.
You're not the only one. I also remember this show. I saw it on Cartoon Network, i remember it was a on the "Mixed-up marathon".
Want a better version of Super Noobs, go watch Atomic Puppet!!! It's better animated, written, and Eric Bauza nailed the lead roles
Eric Bauza is a great voice actor, ngl. He did a great job voicing Stimpy, Bugs and Daffy.
Oh god, this is one of the absolute last things i watched on tv before i fully embraced the Internet
So it’s basically just Johnny test power pack
when I was younger I was hype for this show
This is one of those shows I was moderately obsessed with as a kid for some reason, I always wanted it to be a bit more serialized. the episode where they had to interact with aliens in that party was one of my favorites based solely off the fact that it expanded the universe and showed just how little the protags were in relation to their new powers they just got. I knew I wasnt dreaming up that show
i was actually thinking about this the other day! i wasn't a big fan but i occasionally think about this show. i was a very science-forward kid so i mentally checked out/got annoyed when the virus affected inanimate objects
Holy shit! By just looking at the thumbnail it already unlocked many memories!
This show did had a Virus Creator. A six-eyed entity that created the viruses and was speaking with Venomus via screen.
I like to think they grew up and had good lives
I only know about super noobs because phantomstrider put it on his worst cartoon network shows list 200 years ago
Well, tell him that the list is invalid. Super Noobs was a Teletoon original.
This looks a lot better than Velma
I loved this show as a kid omg
I forgot all about this show till I saw this on my feed. Thanks for reminding me of it!
This was the shit back in 2015 ngl 😭🙏

Roach reminds me of meatwad
Oh I used to watch that show
Do an in-depth analysis and timeline of the Drake Kendrick beef
I used to watch this show, but I hated it a lot for no reason. Like I’d turn on teletoon to watch this show and just hate it for no reason.
Man my little brother found it and he was obsessed with it for a few weeks!
I remember enjoying the 2015 premiere and liking it a little less as a few episodes aured before it just dissapeared.
