Bit of a different video that one Heath well done. Brave of you both to do it. On one of my early trips I walked into a bar on Rhumpo that had no customers and a pool table set up so I asked if anyone wanted to play. Up stood this tall slim bar girl and in a very deep voice said "I'll play my name is Joan"! After the initial shock we had a game or three and yes she beat me every time and I also bought her a beer every time. I went called into the bar a few times that trip and always gave her a 100 baht (£2.50 - last of the big spenders) tip when I left. On the final night and visit to the bar trip I gave her a 500 baht note and all the other bar girls (other than Joan they were all girls) stood up and applauded. I find many people have a negative attitude and dare I say are frightened of ladyboys, but in my experience I've found that as long as you laugh with them and not at them they'll be fine with you. But remember guys the rule in the Land of Smiles is "the best looking girl in the bar is often a bloke" 😎
Well said, Nev. If someone is not interested in another person's private life and indifferences, then there are no indifferences to worry about. If someone is into ladyboys, then the same statement is valid regarding them.
Nice one Heath. Great idea to interview Thai people from various walks of life and persuasions. Beautiful, open girl...but I'm not sure I believe that it was her first time at pool! 😄😄😄
As someone that's married to a Thai trans woman and has been with her for 21 years, let me add a few comments. First, thank you for talking with Patch so respectfully. That's certainly not always the case among youTubers. The thing that many tourists don't fully appreciate is that there are almost no LGBT legal rights in Thailand. Patch can't legally marry her future husband. She can't adopt. She can't legally change her gender on her ID card and passport. LGBT discrimination law is incredibly weak in Thailand and most people aren't aware that Thailand does not have a “stare decisis” / precedent based law system and are cases adjudicated in isolation, but I digress. All of these legal rights which LGBT people in the west now take for granted, are non existent in Thailand. It's a lot more difficult for LGBT people in Thailand than foreigners realize. There is significant and quiet structural white collar employment discrimination against LGBT people in Thai society in many industries. It doesn't seem that way to many foreigners because Thai people generally keep their opinions and comments to themselves and there is very little violence or overt harassment in Thai society against LGBT people but it's also there. Transition related health care is also very expensive for those like Patch with little income. There is no insurance or national health care to help with these trans health care costs which invariably leads many to doing sexwork to finance their transitions and to support their families. One one hand Thailand is great because there is little social harassment or violence and trans women can be their authentic selves in public. One the other hand, there is a very common refrain from trans girls that they would very much like to be with more open minded foreigners in another country for reasons that go beyond the economic. Happy talk talk more about this, as I've lived the adventure for half my life. If you have any questions, just ask. Cheers.
Your choice even if it is two dicks. I just don't understand why not a man instead of a man who wants to be a woman. It's just confusing to me. In my part of the world all gay men like men that look like men . Very gorgeous though. My female friends say that lady boy looks better than them😁
A very nice addition to your repertoir, Heath A large field of exploration for us farangs. A good idea - having the questions written before the show. Thank you for the new insights.
👍very good Heath I think Patch seem lovely person, very calm & mature for her age.I think her English is good especially as it's Patches second language...cheers
This was interesting, Heath. Huge respect for doing this video. I think foreigners, expats, need to learn more about our way of living, ladyboy or not. And how sweet she is. I really hope she will find that one and only she is looking for. We all need that. Thanks again, Heath 😊😊
Really lovely interview..... Patch seems really lovely.... Although I would have to set a challenge for her .... Good luck finding Steak and Spaghetti on the menu on a cold Tuesday night in Grimsby!
Really good video. It's nice to get to know real people and their life story. Best people I've met travelling, hated resorts and enjoyed the local culture.
@oneendofthailand I hope this format works out. I've travelled recently through Thailand, Indonesia and The Philippines. Love to party but I always find the street view videos of places like Walking Street, a bit predatory and exploitative. It's nice to get to know the real culture and people. Could you interview some ex pats? English teachers? Cafe owners? I'm 52 and hoping to retire to Thailand at 60. It would be interesting to know what its really like to live and travel in Thailand. Thanks again.
Hello Heath This is 1st time i watch your channel , it was very interesting to chat with her ❤ but im not into ladyboy , im bisexual , but it was a interesting chat and she could massage me , you seem to be a down to earth sort of bloke , Thankyou
Patch is beautiful, I’m not one to indulge myself- I have a young lady from Patch’s province Buriram. But good luck and best wishes to her 🙏😊🇬🇧 heath, what is the name of Patch’s massage business
Thank you, Martin. I do not know the name of the shop where she works and also she is leaving this week for Buriram for family reasons with no planned date to return.
Great content Heath, like it and hope you do more of it. That interview and her outlook sums up everything I love about Thailand where everyone can be who they want to be, cant wait to return next year, no place on earth I would rather be. Keep up the great work!
Wow Heath what a lovely video very sensitively done and (Pat) (Patch) (not sure of name) a lovely person and ladyboy very sweet am in Jomtiem from the 15th for a week maybe catch up for beer and Pool ha ha well done
Nearly all of the comments have been positive, but most of my subscribers have an interest in Thailand, or have been here so that's good. I am actually holding comments for review before I approve them and I have had a few stupid ones, but not as many as I expected. Patch has been reading the comments and it has boosted her confidence in herself. Thank you. 🙏
Fantastic video - really interesting to see something a little different. I'd like to add that there seems to be an apparent social acceptance of ladyboys / trans women and lack of stigma attached to it . I'm comparing it to Australia or the UK which could go a long way towards day-to-day acceptance in my opinion. For example, I stayed in Isan some years ago and the village hairdresser was run by a ladyboy; the person who I stayed with had a daughter who lived in Prachinburi - her neighbour was a ladyboy; woman I met last year in Pattaya had a sister who was a ladyboy; many hotels seem to have ladyboys working for them etc etc. Because I do not live in Thailand and am only a visitor - albeit fairly frequent one these days - I don't get to see the nuances of life there, which is one reason I said apparent acceptance. But, for all that , Thai society appears to be happy to let people live the life they want.
