Great overview. My two cents with add-ons, as an add-on developer: scalability plays a big part of it. Small cheap add-ons can get many sales just by being an easy buy. I assume your videos makes average around 600$ for 100k views just from adsense man. Considering you are getting paid by sponsors as well as your patreon on top of the adsense from youtube for your main source of income is not selling $2 assets or settings files, your main source of income is making youtube videos. Just be honest man i like some of your videos... So making a video like this without showing receipts is no different than these crypto/finance bros selling scam courses to be honest.
I make around $300 for 100K views on adrevenue. Sponsors are a big part of the income, yes, but on an average month my non-sponsor income matches that of the sponsor and sometimes exceeds it. Meaning I'm not lying one bit and the smaller revenue streams do actually add up to something big and consistent. If sponsors were to fall away I'd still be able to make a living with all the other income streams, which is a healthy way to run my business in my experience and is the reason I'm advising the avenues as shown in this video!
@KaizenTutorials Okay, considering you promote your gumroad store more compared to your other stores and referencing from the amount of reviews your gumroad made min $106 without including gumroad's fee. Your cgcookie course has 3 reviews, i don't really know how the revenue split happen there so lets say best case scenario cgcookie paid you 50$ for 3 students since their membership costs 23$ monthly anyway. I don't see other sources listed in your website because of that i will assume their income percentage is lower than these sources. Lets assume your purchase to review ratio is around 10% which i believe is really low for these types of products. So from this logic you made; 106*10 = $1060 from 2 years of gumroad 50*10 = $500 from 3 months of cgcookie courses And lets assume other product revenues combined makes as much as these and double them because i don't have any data for them and you don't promote them. Total: $3120 This is a huge round up estimation. I don't believe for the numbers available, these sources generate this amount of money but to prove a point, these 2+ years of assets generated 4 times more compared to your single monthly video + patreon income. I am not even including the sponsor revenue. In short if you included a detailed % income sources (such as 30% from youtube, 10% from patreon, 30% gumroad etc...) without even mentioning the $ amount we wouldn't have to make these assumptions and question your authority on the subject of selling 3d assets / products. I am not here to defame you or push negativity on your channel. Like i mention before i like some of your videos and this one feels disingenuous and reads so much like those fake finance course promotions, i wanted to point out. @xx_mohamed_xx9611 Okay, i am going to assume you are genuine and simplify you the two comments i made; without providing any proof of his authority on the subject, he is selling you an concept/idea with a sponsored segment. Considering the publicly available data and his claims, he makes 4 times more with a single video adjusted to monthly basis without including sponsor revenue on those videos. Again if i have to simplify; He earns his living by making youtube videos not by the things he suggests you do. There isn't anything wrong with earning your living by making youtube videos but when you sell an idea of money making meanwhile you don't practice what you preach and not the authority on the subject, makes you disingenuous. Which could be solved if you are more transparent with your income. Nobody expects him to show his tax returns after all. I hope this explains a bit more. 🙂

Hi Kaizen. Congrats for 200k. I wanted to know your thoughts about this. Thanks for the tutorials and keep it up Sir!!
Thank you, appreciate it! 3D mockups are really nice and can be another method. It's also quite saturated though with lots of companies offering such templates. Having said that; if you can make unique, great quality and realistic mockup templates I think there's definitely money to be made here! Even better if you can make semi-custom templates that companies can use for their own purposes without having to re-hire designers everytime.

Sound advice about diversifying your income streams. Unless you have a well paying full time job that's good advice in general. Personally I think stock footage is just as over saturated as 3D models. The billion dollar payout claim is pretty meaningless unless it's put into perspective by the amount of uploads and individuals being paid. And there's so much offered under value on fiverr and such that one should carefully consider the amount of work going into a project compared to the possible payout. So many people selling for way too cheap. A problem in not just this industry. Not saying don't do it, just be aware. While these are the more simple ways to make money, they're not necessarily easy. Btw you forgot the card at the end, pointing at thin air 😉
Hey Kaizen ! Very interesting options, You mentioned selling 3D models of famous games and movies at 11:38 Could you describe the legal side of doing that, because there is a huge gray area as a lot of artists mention not to do that as it is illegal to produce and sell product off of existing IPs, where as other are selling their 3D models and making a great living out of it ! Wishing you much more growth and success ! ✌
Thanks! Obviously I'm no lawyer and this isn't legal advice. I think you shouldn't push it when using some other IP. So don't go and be making tons of high quality figurines and basing all of that on an IP. However you can get close. For example Noggi has made Elden Ring chess pieces. They're his own sculpts, with his own look, just mimicing the elden ring characters. I think that's enough of an artistic interpretation to not have any issues.
Hi, I'm a beginner 3D modeler, but I'm struggling to make money. What is the best way to get started on making money with Blender with no or less experience?
Honestly if you're a beginner the best tip I can give is to get better. It's not an easy thing to hear, but there's so much competition out there that you'll need the skills to set yourself apart. You can do this in speed, quality, output or even in pricing; that's up to you. But you'll need to be good enough for people to want to hire you!
Would have been cool to have a breakdown how much money different services has made for you. I mean these are simple methods, but I expect everything mentioned here is EXTREMELY HARD to make money with. Like fiver there are guys doing 20-50€ models, I cant see money being made by competing there. Sure the original 3D printed flexi dragon has sold over 50k copies but now it so over saturated I actually have no idea if people still buy those flexi toys (probably sort of first come takes the pot situation?).
Fair enough, but it all comes down to the point I mentioned; a social presence. If you make a fun 3D printable object AND you make some good fun content around it (shorts, tik-toks, reels) to showcase it you can sell tons still no problem! Fiverr is hard to compete, so again don't use fiverr to compete, use it to be available and do your own marketing to stand out and get clients!
But What about who are intermediate in 3D and want to earn because with blender because on social media competition is too high between 3d Artist. By the way, This video is very awesome because you include very different ways that no one tell. and at the end you say to check out this video but there is no any video or " i " button
Thanks for pointing out my mistake, oops! But yeah it's hard and always will be. No matter what job you have you always compete with everyone else who does it too and is looking for work. try to be unique and keep improving. Also keep sharing your art! Sadly there's no easy fix, just try to keep going and finding more avenues to make an income.
So what do some of us in Africa do? It looks like some of them or most of them use PayPal and Stripe as their major methods of sending and receiving payments, where these are not available in my country. What do I do?
Im sort of a semi professional 3d artist and was thinking about starting a gumroad but i heard if you sell things for a dollar its nof worth it? Is that true? Does gumroad take a percentage of your sales? If so how much?
I believe I make about 1,80 on a 2 dollar pricetag. But then I still have to pay taxes on that ofcourse both VaT and income tax. So mot left with much honestly
I mean without a GPU Blender will be kinda slow. It's not a big deal for modeling etc but if you want to render and animate it can become an issue. I think it's fine but it's probably not good enough for many years to come.
Great video! So you meaning living as a 3d artist now is like to be poor.... because hard work as 18 hs per day for a couple dollars don't make a great life i think
How about getting a job? Are there any tips or advice for the environment and architecture type of artists. I wish to get inside the art industry and improve.
Getting a job, without making this a book length post, comes down to 3 things and in my opinion in this order of magnitude too; Presentation, personality, portfolio. Present yourself as who you are, honest, professionally. Make sure your personality fits the company and it's employees. Have a decent/good portfolio to show your work!
@KaizenTutorials I see, thankyou. If you don't mind, will you rate my portfolio and give tips and advice? Maybe once a month, you check others portfolio and correct them or give critiques on a video. So many can gain insight from others experiences

There's usually alternatives offering other payment methods. Which methods work for you?
@@KaizenTutorials Is it possible for them to be paid to a local bank account?
Hey is that possible to create clothes in blender without using blender addons and marvelous designer?
Sure it is! There's sewing, there's physics and cloth modifiers and brushes. That said; it's so much easier with Marvelous or addons.
@@KaizenTutorials ohhk so it's possible to create complex clothes with just blender?right
None of this works if I don't have access to my bank account but these options seem great otherwise lmao
Haha fair enough!
0:10 where did you get this clip? i didnt expect to get inspiration from stock videos lol
Haha I get all my stock from Pexels!
Hello Kaizen, I want to ask you. My laptop has not external graphics card eg,gtx and rtx. Without gpu, can I use Blender for long term?
I mean without a GPU Blender will be kinda slow. It's not a big deal for modeling etc but if you want to render and animate it can become an issue. I think it's fine but it's probably not good enough for many years to come.
@@KaizenTutorials thanks kaizen
Great video ! But how to do it if you are stuck in learning blender ?
Thanks! If you're stuck I'd recommend checking out these videos; th-cam.com/video/OeGULgqwJh8/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/O4hcOdTofTY/w-d-xo.html
How to make addons for blender, or any other 3d application?
Code mainly. But there's also an addon to make addons funny enough. But yeah learning Python is the easiest method.
What is your opinion on AI, is this end of artist
I think AI is here to stay, but I'm not afraid of it. Just be a good artist with vision, style and ideas and AI can never take your job imo.
Can I use Blender without graphic card?
Yeah but you'll be stuck using your CPU.

Great video! So you meaning living as a 3d artist now is like to be poor.... because hard work as 18 hs per day for a couple dollars don't make a great life i think
Thanks. I think living as a 3D artist can make you very rich. Just have to put in some initial effort to setting up many of these income streams!
Yo...when do u do community art challenges in blender ....
And where to submit em...better not be discord.
but it is though; discord.gg/VBPgBNM4
Ahhh yes ... The classical teaching piramid scheme.
Wait what?
Product animation
VFX advertisment
3d edit + aftereffects
Those are great options too yeah, although more work!
you have a good point there, well but i could'nt get the free resources to start with🙂
@@faturismee blender and pexel website are your friends
Hi do you need a website ?
I have one, thanks!
isn't AI already messing with freelancers?
For sure it is.
Games
A lot of work, but definitely an option. Even simple games can make a lot of money on Steam.
@@KaizenTutorials I initially began with Unity, then I worked on 3D models on Blender, now I'm doing a course over Maya
@@KaizenTutorials I did make a couple of builds on wheel physics and games and it was quite good. (Couldn't get good 3D models and went to Blender)
Or... find your niche for animating! The world needs a lot more motion graphics on climate change, for example (:

@@nepzel42069 hi! can i look into ur portfolios? 😇need for some inspirations though..
