I have to say the Bridgestone tires we had in 2014 were really good for close racing as there didn’t require high load (downforce) to work all the time like the Yokohama tires need. Renzo Miku 69 the main difference is that the Bridgestone tire construction shape meant it would give you good grip if you had low down force (behind another car) and also worked better in low speed corners. This meant it was easier to follow other cars closer. The Yokohama has very good stiffness for high speed corners but a very difficult tire to make work if your car set up is a little bit wrong in the low speed corners (it just feels like you have no grip sometimes). It’s due to mechanical set up of the team with dampers and 3rd elements being free in Super Formula some teams have products that others can’t buy. This is why we are seeing such big gaps in lap time between teams at the moment. Some have the correct mechanical set up for the tire to work and some don’t. Unfortunately if the car is wrong there it’s nothing you can do as a driver. I have been super impressed with the Nakajima cars this season and expect them to dominate a few weekends if they can avoid silly mistakes (on the grid) and fix the wheel issue. I think the video is to show the fans what racing in Super Formula is all about and how close the racing is without the need for DRS... It’s great to have @letsgoracing showing this content to race fans over the world. I love racing in Japan and happy that it can now be enjoyed by all.
