Good to know this info even though it came at a little bit of a loss for you! Also, I'm experiencing the same with my Floret zinnias. Even when I leave them uncut for an extra 2 weeks! Maybe all my double petaled beauties are still in the seed packets I have saved for next year! lol
As my flowerfarm is situated in denmark I can tell a similar story, because we had lots and lots and lots of never ending rains this year. To be correct I have to say, that it has been raining in our part of denmark nearly every day since nearly one year. I can't see rain any more!! I messed up two successions of flowers, because I'm not used to deal with such amounts of water. As a result we have so many slugs, although my chickens do their very best. And of course there are also some other issues like fungal diseases of my roses and so on. 🙄 I'm afraid, that with climate change it could stay like this in our region. That would be horrible, to be honest. But I wish you the very best!! You are glad to be able to switch off the irrigation. My irrigation from above isn't that easy stoppable. 😅 ;) 🤗🌻
My zinnias look exactly the same! Almost all my flowers do right now, just this week. It's odd because we haven't had much rain lately and I don't water them but they all started looking like that this week, even my morning glories! They looked great last week. They did get heavy rain early in the season but not recently. We have very high humidity right now so that was the only thing I could think of...too much water earlier in the season...its just odd to me that its all the sudden this week. We did have a cooler temp week last week and it's back to very hot this week. Maybe they aren't in the best shape this year and couldn't handle it? I'm in WV.
Yeah, these last two years they start to get black spot so early. My ageratum though also died back so quickly so I am not sure what that was about.Hoping for a better season next year

I’m excited to see if I left the doubles in my packs too! The precious metals and unicorn I planted came up in mostly singles- but still lovely
I love how you're so honest!
My flowers get overwatered every year because i live in rainy ireland. Im delighted you can do better next year!
Yes, I look forward to next year and fixing my mistake!

Id like to see Floret address the seeds this year, i haven't seen anyone super happy with them
Good to know. I don’t have drip irrigation so mine don’t get watered enough.

I’m sure they’ll bounce back!
Thank you!
