    This was supposed to be ready for Halloween, but I had a HELL of a time battling the copyright on this one. It's the first time I've ever had to escalate that so far. But I'm glad this video is finally available to share! I guess we're going for more of a "nightmare before Christmas" vibe this year instead.
    So Happy Halloween and Merry Christmas all in one! Thanks so much for checking this out. I hope you enjoy! Don't forget to drop some recommendations for future Halloween horror marathons :)

      that's Dax from the last 2 seasons of DS9 her characters name is Leaven. Hypercube is a good middle movie, it's the weakest but it's also the most interesting. And then Cube Zero is something special. super cool. I've seen triangle that movie is trash.

    That's a really good analysis! Entertaining, insightful and with respect to the material. The Cube is definitely an interesting movie, but I didn't even know it was a trilogy. And Cube Zero seems quite... fascinating 🙂.

      I'm glad you enjoyed it!
      Cube was surprisingly innovative for a small little indie horror movie. I couldn't help but be wrapped up in it. I'd LOVE to see some talented up-and-comer take a crack at a reboot with a couple million in budget :)

    Her name is Leaven. Paired with Worth they follow the pattern of all the characters being named after prisons; Alderson, Holloway, (San) Quentin, Rennes, Leavenworth and Kazan.

    I just stumbled upon the “ prisoners dilemma” it’s a concept in game theory. It’s common in every day life and this movie is a constant battle of the prisoners dilemma among the people that are trapped.

    Originally Kazan would discover an alien world and solar system in an alternate ending after going through the exit, and I hear this scene was actually filmed and allegedly included in some of the initial screenings, but the director has apparently tracked down and destroyed every copy of the movie that has it. Kind of extreme lol, but I guess I would agree that the movie is better off not revealing the origin of the cube.

    • @2leftframes
      @2leftframes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very interesting! It's hilariously *extra* to seek out and destroy that ending, but I kind of respect it. If you give those alternate endings, no matter how unpolished, some subset of fans are going to treat it as canon.
      I'm definitely glad they left it open ended. It seems like most people don't enjoy leaving things unanswered. But for me, I'd rather be left to speculate and imagine those possibilities.

    These are generally way better than they have any right to be. Like with the original idea and budget hypercube is what I expect. Not the original and zero which are actually really good for their budget. There are plenty of way higher budget horror movies that do far less with what they have. I do suspect after 3 movies that everything has kind of been milked as much as you can milk it as far as the concept itself goes.

      The concept is still strong. There are some great moments. And it's b-movie quality borders on endearing. I wouldn't recommend it on it's own. But for anyone who saw the first, and is left wanting more, I think it's worth watching all three :)

    The cube is great I owned it on VHS for years. If they could just stay put they would have gotten out. The name eleven has esoteric elements. El” is like a title like god Elohim. Androgyny for gods male and female. I like all 3 movies but the first is my favorite.

    Enjoyed this video. That said, I think this style of video is best targetted at people who want to watch along with you, or people who have already seen the movie. I appreciate you caring about spoiling us neat scenes, but I feel like those such as myself, who want to see what you have to say about a movie they haven't, are frustrated by you praising something they don't have context about, and those who have already seen it may be frustrated you didn't remind them what scene it was, in case they haven't memorized it. When we see pretty much the entire plot with you, it seems a bit pointless to spare spoiling us one or two scenes. I wouldn't watch a whole movie to catch up with just a couple things, so I just want to see what you're talking about while you review it. although i very much understand your reasoning for your choice.

    • @2leftframes
      @2leftframes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well said! I totally hear where you're coming from.
      I think I only withheld 1 or 2 things that felt like major plot/twist spoilers. Mostly I had to leave out deaths that were especially gruesome and wouldn't make it through youtube's age restrictions! I'll have to give it some thought before this year's binge, on how to best present this style of video. Cheers!
