I just love to watch this video. I used to be very fond of this train as i used to travel in this train between Amalner and Guntakal in the 80s. Yes, it used to run via Guntakal in those days.
Nice. Especially the weather. For us....stuck in snow and ice......these videos are nostalgic. It is in my bucket list to do as much train travel as possible upon return to India. Looks like it is a lot more civilized, organized and safe nowadays (compared to the 80s)
How do they catch up on 59 min. delay? Do they arrive late at stations and leave on time to make up lost time? At jalgaon, it arrived 10 min early. Looks like there is a lot of uncertainty in estimated time of arrival.
This is the only train connecting Chennai to Ahmedabad in this route. It stops at many stations with poor patronage. This increases the running time for long distance passengers besides causing loss to Railways.
This train involves lot of reservation bunglings. It used to be my favorite train when it used to come from Chennai via Guntakal- during its initial days. Also train has too many stoppages.

Slack time or extra time is given between certain stations to recover any lost time.
