Having only been exposed to the type of street photography that could be best described as single-person-profile-shot-mid-stride, I got bored of it very quickly. I’d think ‘what makes this interesting? Someone walking…?’ The 13 minutes of watching this film has shown me what real street photography is about and what can be achieved with patience, vision and a ballsy attitude. Thanks so much for showing what street photography can be and should be.
One of the best episodes yet! Some of those photos are just unreal. Caught myself multiple times pausing the video and muttering "no fucking way he got that."
One of the only photographers that actually makes me stop and look while scrolling like a monkey riddled with ADHD. There is always something to notice.
I am a professional photographer for over 10 years now, in the fields of portraiture and architecture. After seeing Jeremys work, I completely have to reevaluate my work, it is so mind blowing. I have not seen such creative photography in a very long time. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is without any intent to take away from Jeremy's work, but if this led you reevaluate your overall photography then you've apparently never looked into the history of photography and the work of the all-time greats. Like, he has some cool ideas and I do like his style, but many of his photographs are quite gimmicky, as in, the idea behind it is really simple/superficial. Shallow. No offence intended. On the bright side, this means you've still got a lot of inspirational discoveries to make looking at the actual titans of street photography and photojournalism. I acknowledge the fact that you seem to be an architectural photographer, so perhaps you see yourself more as a craftsman than an artist. But I do think that, no matter your individual specialty, every photographer who wants to consider themselves the latter should take the time to dive into the overall history of photography at some point and look into the work of people who defined their genres. There is so much inspiration to get with such little effort. It makes it feel weird for me to see people's minds being blown by rather simple things when much more impactful work is literally just a Google search away. And again, this is not in any way meant to be a take "against Jeremy." It's just some general commentary on the subject.
I like how candid Jeremy is with his process. Street photographers are like hunters where they can spend hours in a single spot waiting to take one defining photo. Being this excited and obsessed about photography is a great feeling and is always rewarding.
"I can see the photo you wanted to take, and what I am looking at is the photo that you settled to take." - This resonates with me A LOT and reminds me to step out of my comfort zone more often. Jeremy's pictures are unreal, but I found his words equally inspiring, at least. Thank you for another episode definitely worth watching, Bryan!
That one hit me hard as well. Will always have Jeremy on my shoulder telling me about courage when I’m being a little bitch about asking a stranger for a portrait. Haha
‘…photo you wanted to take vs photo you settled for..’ - this was an inspiring video from start to finish, beautiful to hear Jeremy’s thoughts & his process. Thank you both for this episode!
One of the best Analog Artisans episodes for sure! The editing and the music, paired with eatenbyflowers’ photos and words, are top tier! Thank you, Bryan!
I never knew how expensive film is until I bought portra 800. The real problem is "not being hesitant" when each shot costs like 10 dollars when you want to develop, print a small copy, and scan them. You can't argue with film colour though. Contrast range is very interesting too.
That shot at 0:24... insane. So much good stuff here. Jeremy is one of those photographers that makes you question if you have any idea what you're doing hahaha. Great video, thanks for sharing.
His work is nothing short of stunning. He has an eye unlike anyone else. Those shots are truly beautiful and left me with my jaw on the floor; I didn't even think some of these were possible.
Well that was a treat... new to me. Cannot wait for Jeremy's 400 page anthology of work in 10 years time... unbelievable patience and vision. Now that is street photography!
I am blown away by this episode! Fantastic from every facet, Jeremy has been a huge inspiration for my photography. Also major props to Marti for the cinematography
As an amateur photographer on a journey that was born out of a need to take functional product photos and has led to me falling into the rabbit hole of striving to create interesting and original photos in and of themselves, Jeremy's words rang so true. His work and his words inspire me to try harder.
Love this. And love Jeremy’s work. There’s something energetic about his images, unlike the cliche street we are all seeing over and over again. Great video.
Energetic is a great word. They’re alive in the best way possible. One of the reasons I wanted to showcase him because I also get tired of seeing the same shadowy figures and the backs of peoples heads in street photos.
@@BryanBirks your edit of this video and the music bed, along with Marti’s excellent video work, adds to the drama and story for sure. The energy in this film emphasizes the energy of Jeremy’s work. Brilliant!
Simply awestruck. Marti killed the cinematography 🎞. Music and editing is on point. Jeremy is original, inspiring, and revolutionary all at the same time. A legend in the making and we’re lucky enough to witness it. Favorite episode so far 🤘🏽
Great video of a wonderful photographer / couldn't help thinking at the 7:34 mark a photo of Spiderman set off against the blue/red umbrella would've been a great Eatenbyflowers photo
This is by far one of your best videos. The pace, music and images had me totally immersed. Keep up your incredible work on this platform, you deserve more recognition.
Bryan, the film was a joy, thank you! And Jeremy you are obviously most talented, hard working and magical street photographer ever. The pictures are fascinating (story, colours, composition) and outstanding. I would be one on the waiting list for one of your books, whenever it comes out.
Thank you for this discovery Bryan ! I'm just blown away by Jeremy's work. His images are so clever and funny at the same time, he has such a good eye ! I think I followed him on insta after the third photo shown on your video !
Man you know to merge video, photo and music vibess, that intro! Not used to comment but I've been here for a while already, always interesting and inspiring videos, keep at it Bryan
Oh man I've missed this series. Really glad to see another episode! This makes me really excited to go to Chicago next week and spend some time downtown.
My favorite episode for sure. Lately I have been more inspired to have interactions with people in the street and this episode just pushed me even further that way haha, excellent work!
That’s great. I wouldn’t say it’s necessary to interact with people on the street but it shows that you are invested in the people you might be capturing. Which will only help in the long run.
Beautiful job on this episode - this might just be my favorite one to-date. It was nice getting some insight into Jeremy's mindset while out shooting because his shots are unreal. Looking forward to the next one bro.
Very well done Brian! I’m a complete fresh face on the streets, only one year out, but the bug has bitten me. I love what Jeremy said about “settling” for a lesser version of a photo. Lately I’ve overcome that and I can get incredibly angry at myself for settling. I also love what Jeremy said about it being addictive. I really love everything he said because I can relate. You have to have a “fuck it” attitude out there or you’ll never take the photos you’ll be happy with or break boundaries. Not fuck it as in not being respectful but in order to do your subject the most justice you almost owe it to them, as they grant you a moment, to get the most out of it. Really enjoyed this episode!
Not necessarily seeing originality in these photos at least, but a lot of time put in, and a tremendous patience. Time put in is such a huge ingredient, regardless of ones own vision. Engaging with life while maintaining a need for it to remain candid is certainly where energy derives. Will have to check out more to see the evolution. Looking forward to it as I appreciate your drive.
Beautifully made video Bryan, I love your Analogue Artisan series. Although it goes against what Jeremy was trying to convey, but a lot of his photos remind me of an awesome street photographer Vineet Vohra.

absolutely one of the best photographers of our time there is not a question about it.
These are some of the most unique, dynamic, original and stunning street photographs I've ever seen. Breathtaking. Great short film.
I agree. Much different from a lot of street work out there. Thanks for watching.
‘…photo you wanted to take vs photo you settled for..’ - this was an inspiring video from start to finish, beautiful to hear Jeremy’s thoughts & his process. Thank you both for this episode!
Dude, I heard that and felt it. So many times that it has happened to me. Not only that, but not even taking the photo period. Really hit home.

Man. Bryan, you absolutely knocked this one out of the park. From the music, to the cinematography, the interview and the pacing of the video. Unreal.
I was quite keen on it myself so I appreciate the kind words. It was a blast to make.

I’m honored to have seen this video. Thanks for your work Bryan. Source of inspiration for me.
Outstanding episode! Eatenbyflowers is brilliant; like everyone, I kept saying, "no way he got that!" What a great intro to an amazing artist.
The editing in this is superb too. You really allowed him to shine in this with the way you edited the interview
Truly a wonderful piece on one of today’s most prolific street photographers. Congrats Jeremy!
Couldn't agree more!
Big fan of Jeremy! Glad to see him on the channel! Well deserved!
Thanks for watching, Jeremy. Jeremys are killing it.
Amazing images! My sincere respect for the awesome artistry of the images.

That was fucking brilliant! One of the best things I've watched in a long time. Thanks so much Bryan.
Damn! This was one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen all year, photo-wise. Love Jeremy’s drive and mindset behind what he does!
Inspiring for sure. Mindset is the key. If you have that the rest will fall into place. And if it doesn’t, you are able to handle it.
Great video of a wonderful photographer / couldn't help thinking at the 7:34 mark a photo of Spiderman set off against the blue/red umbrella would've been a great Eatenbyflowers photo
Unlike most popular so called street photographers, this guy actually has talent.
Great Video. I really love Jeremys work.
Bryan Birks, you're a badass. Thanks for sharing your work and perspective and for having high standards for the art.
