It's based on perisonal preference I chose the instigating over the two shot because I normally one hit killed enemy's and wanted to increase my odds to one shot higher HP enemy's like behemoths or fog crawlers but some people might want the consistent high damage over high damage on the first hit but their both still some of the best legendary effects
I like how he pointed out that it is unrealistic to have a stack of bowling balls in your inventory without taking up any weight, and yet has 62 mininukes in his back pocket
I don’t know about you but when I used Atom’s Judgement it seemed to either one shot everything or if it didn’t instantly crush them it made them unable to anything until I got my next hit in and crushed their skull
Fiefdom Of Umbria I just interpreted it as the Children of Atom manufacturing their own rifles by hand in the nucleus, as to why it looks like the volkstrumgehwer it’s a pretty basic rifle design so not out of the question that they came up with it independently from any German design. The meta answer is that the game designers probably liked the look of the rifle and thought the aesthetic of it would fit since it was a last ditch improvised weapon
The Dude yeah that’s what happened. Although if you need an in game explanation, shoving a bunch of captured German rifles into a military base depot in Maine is definitely a thing the army would do.
And since we know that a bunch of pre war weaponry survived 200 years of apocalypse out in the wilds, it’s not at all unfeasable that a military base that was unoccupied for most of that (remember, Dima was the first to move in there) could keep them preserved well enough.
BurningFyre the problem with that explanation is that the volkstrumgwher was very limited in its production as it was a very late war last ditch improvised weapon meaning it’s highly unlikely that they would be captured in large numbers by the Americans, especially since it was mainly used in the battle of Berlin, which the soviet Russians fought in, secondly why would they keep all those antiquated rifles that were never much good in the first place in what appears to be a fairly new facility. Remember even today there are a very limited number of these rifles floating about. So I think the explanation that the Children of atom manufactured these rifles from scratch with no influence from any German design is the more likely one, they just happen to look like that because it’s a pretty basic pattern for a rifle. Although we all need to remember that it’s just that the developers just copied the design because it fits with the aesthetic with no regard for explanation why they look like that
The suppressor for Old Reliable isn't just cloth around the barrel. It's an actual suppressor with a wrap on it to minimize heat mirage coming off the suppressor. In real life suppressors get very hot and the heat rising off of them is right in your sight line making it hard to get a good sight picture. So suppressor wraps insulate the suppressor and prevent that. Also gives you a way to grab the thing and take it off or keeps you from burning yourself if you accidentally bump into it. If you've ever looked down a road in summer and seen the wavy effect in the air right above the pavement, that's called mirage. It's when the heat coming off something is hotter than the air around it. The air close to the heat source is a different density than the ambient air and as light passes through both it gets distorted.
With Big Boy the same can be done with the Nuka Nuke launcher mod and let me just say that a two shot Nuka Nuke launcher is incredibly devastating and one of my personal favorites.
quick note on some of the far harbor weapons, the harpoon gun, meat hook and hooked stick all do more damage against aquatic enemies, I.E. mirelurks, fog crawlers, anglers, etc. so using them against those enemies sees a fairly big boost in damage.
The vendor Brother Kane inside the nucleus sells more marine wetsuits and tactical helmets, if anyone was wondering, or if you want more to equip on settlers. Just buy them, wait for 2 days right inside the nucleus (merchant inventory reset) and buy more. I usually bring a bunch of purified water to offset cost.
When I played fallout 4, I went to the sub base daily and killed like 3-4 children of atom with the marine armor each visit, and as a result, my settlers had quite a few of these great armor
@@meausue In my opinion even though fallout 76 is canon, I consider it to be more of a spin off. I mean Fallout 5, what every fallout game has been, a fun, immersive, yet gruesome single player experience.

The lever action suppressor is an actual suppressor and the cloth wrapped around it is probably modeled after real suppressors, people sometimes put the wrap on the suppressor to help dissipate heat mirage (because suppressors get hot) which could interfere with long range shooting.
@@boitanghopknz4576 Ok, but did I ask? I'm not talking about Nuka world as a DLC and hadn't said I like Far harbor more. What I was saying was I like far harbor content and seeing it piled up like this is something I like.

I actually just found last week on my New play through. The assassin and never ending rad rifle before even getting the far harbor quest. Even got a Ak 74 before even going to nuka world.
Sergeant Ash was my favorite weapon out of the DLC, Once you're in range, nothing is going to manage more than 1 or 2 attacks before all they can do is wait to be cooked to death or for you to take something with a bit more punch to finish them off.
BFM Trooper we really don’t know. There’s no official canon ending to NV that I’m aware of, so it’s impossible to not just write blatant fan fiction. Which is cool, but it’s not lore. Ox could make the epilogue vids for 1-3 because of NV and 4 telling us parts of what came after.
The NCR either continues to extend north into washington and south into mexico looking for a water source cheaper to purify/transport than what theyre buying from House, or a New President (possibly Hanlon) gets elected based on an anti-imperialist stance and they proceed to try and revive old boats to trade with other US/Canadian/Mexican/Asian settlements. Caesar's Legion, now led by Lanius, makes its way south into Mexico. Aside from completely annihilating the bandit gangs unlucky enough to get in the way of the Legion, they wage war against the Chem cartels that have been working to fill the power vacuum left behind by the Mordeno family of New Reno. They also attempt to conquer several tribes that have modeled themselves after mexican civilizations/cultural practices from several different time periods such as neo Aztecs, 18th century imperialist-esque riflemen with many different types of musket weaponry, a death cult that turned a misunderstanding of Dia de los Muertos into an entirely new religion/culture and a tribe of Vaqueros descended from the men whom incurred the wrath of Raul after the death of his sister and see him as a deity of vengeance that brings merciless punishment to those that prey on the weak (who may or may not use a slightly melted Petro-Chico action figure as an idol). Lanius, through battle and his role as the new Caesar, begins to learn crucial truths about the strengths/weaknesses of The Legion's philosophy and radically alters them from Edward Sallow's vision into something more sustainable , and allows Legionnaires to wield much more potent weaponry than before. Vulpes Inculta, though unapproving of Lanius's methods, still proudly serves The Legion. The Great Khans forge a powerful empire out of the Northwestern states thanks to aid from The Followers. Thanks to their rapid growth, defendable land and bolstered ranks, neither the NCR nor the Legion seek to wage war on the Khans, and instead trade with them. The Vipers and Jackals, cousins to the Khans and NCR, are allowed to live on in Khan territory in exchange for them giving up their aggressive practices and cannibalism. Mr. House rapidly begins to rebuild Freeside and Outer Vegas, his territory effectively quintupling. He begins to buy out Followers of the Apocalypse, Brotherhood of Steel scribe/knight Refugees and other wastelanders with engineering/scientific skillsets to maximize efficiency of several Pre War military and governmental assets such as Helios One and Hoover Dam. The Courier is made the 5-star General of the New Vegas Military and through his connections to Big Mountain, The Divide, The Boomers and Zion Canyon, equips the newfound military with gear much more state-of-the-art than either the Legion or the NCR. The Boomers, in Alliance with Mr. House, maintain a presence in McCarran Airport repairing the old fighter jets and airliners in exchange for their cooperation in defending New Vegas from future threats and the bombardment of Powder Ganger/Fiend remnant camps. The Kings, accepted by Mr. House after their assault on NCR squatter/military personnel during the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, are allowed to retain their tribal identity in exchange for their cooperation in maintaining peace among New Vegas so that Securitrons can be better put to use elsewhere. Drifters and Merchants from across the wastes are paid to spread the word of New Vegas's safety and luxuries, and the nation becomes the wealthiest in the entire wasteland.

The only use for the caltrops I've found is crafting them and selling them. They sell for more than the steel cost plus the experience gained can level you up fast and set you up with cash early.
After binging Oxhorn's entire Far Harbor series, and realizing that Fudgemuppet only has one Far Harbor oriented build, I decided to make my own. He's known as the Mainer, because that's apparently what people from Maine are called. The Mainer is a descendant of a long line of hunters, fishermen, and farmers, whose biggest regret coming out of the vault is that he never got to bring his wife to meet his family and homeland. He vows to find Shaun, and to look for a way to go back to Maine. The Mainer didn't actually live on Bar Harbor, but he still feels at home on the Island, and helping Acadia and the Harbormen just feels right. He takes to dressing and fighting like them. He sides with the Railroad and Minutemen, and can bully the Institute with either of them. He joins the Railroad because the friends he made in Acadia made him aware of the plight of synths. He joins the Minutemen because he recognizes that the issues Far Harbor faces would be easier to handle if they had someone they could turn to for help(and were willing to accept more of that help). The Mainer doesn't really see anything in the Brotherhood worth allying himself with, and certainly not the Institute. The Mainer doesn't exactly fit in with the Children of Atom, but he doesn't dislike them either, and should choose to spare them. I don't have a full outline of perks to give him, but Big Leagues, Blacksmith, Gun Nut, Science!, Medic, Local Leader, Cap Collector, Rad Resistant, Aqua Boy, and Lead Belly will all be helpful to him. For gear, the Mainer will be melee oriented and can use any legendary Far Harbor melee weapon. I recommend either the hammer you get from Cole, or the Bloodletter, although the Butcher's Hook, Atom's Judgement, and the Fish Catcher are also viable. You'll want Blacksmith so you can upgrade his weapon to maximum damage output. I recommend a shotgun or rifle as his go-to distance weapon, both of which need Gun Nut to upgrade. I personally prefer a shotgun, but Far Harbor includes the exceptionally powerful Old Reliable, which pairs well with Bloodletter for a double legendary destructive force. For clothes, deck him out in the Captain's Hat and some sunglasses, and then whatever clothing you like that accepts armor, because he'll be in Trapper and Recon Marine armor. Alternatively, put him in the Hunter's Pelt Outfit for less defense but a stronger backwoods of Maine aesthetic. He has Local Leader and Cap Collector for the settlement benefits, because Far Harbor has four settlements and he's going to make sure they're all up and running as best as he can get them, especially Longfellow's Cabin, which I recommend be your player home and companion area. Gun Nut, Science! and Medic will let him make better security systems and medical booths, to make his settlements even better. Rad Resistant and Aqua Boy will be very helpful in his travels across the Island, as they'll protect him from a lot of the radiation. Similarly, with him being a hunter, he'll be killing a lot of the big game all over the Island, and Lead Belly will allow him to eat his kills without risk. For power armor, while he's not a build that it's totally crucial for, you can easily get a full set of green Vim power armor in Far Harbor with almost no effort, and with a little more trouble you can get a red one too. These are both T-51, so not the strongest in the game, but still quite powerful, and I think they fit the roleplaying quite nicely. Now let's talk companions. A good hunter will do even better if he has a good hunting dog, so Dogmeat is, per usual, a good choice. Old Longfellow works well, as another Maine native who's used to living his own way. Nick Valentine is always a great companion for the entertainment value, and he's even better here because he adds to the Far Harbor storyline in amazing ways. Piper is fun to travel with, and could be a romantic partner if you like, having the same sense of right and thirst for adventure as the Mainer does, and the same quirky sense of humor and sly smile as Nora did. With the Mainer being a supporter of the Railroad and the Minutemen, he can roll with Deacon and Preston, and probably get along well with them. For roleplaying, the Mainer is very down to Earth. He likes to live by his own means and always wants things done fairly. He loves the outdoors and the ocean, and will prefer making a home for himself and all his companions on Old Longfellow's islet settlement to the safety and comfort of the Home Plate in Diamond City. Despite not being social, he isn't the type to not get along with good people; so long as they're fair in their dealings, the Mainer will like them, even when they're as hostile as some of the Harbormen were at first, even the Children of Atom. He loves the state he was born and raised in, and will put a lot of work into settlement building in Far Harbor so that other people can grow up in the same environment he loves. Despite preferring Maine, the Mainer is still fond of Massachusetts, the place his late wife was from, and hopes to make Boston back into a thriving place where you can move to and raise a family, just like Nora had hoped the Mainer would get to do with her and Shaun. He will always pick the options that keep innocent people from being hurt, even in hard decisions like withholding the truth from Jule. He wants families to be together and safe, and will convince Kasumi to return to her parents and live with them again. And finally, his S.P.E.C.I.A.L. When he comes out of Vault 111, he'll have 7 in Strength, 1 in Perception, 6 in Endurance, 5 in Charisma, 7 in Intelligence, 1 in Agility, and 1 in Luck. You'll want to put the book in Shaun's nursery into Charisma, and then you should have more than enough for all the perks I listed. Because my build doesn't have a hard and fast outline for what perks to get when, feel free to adjust the Mainer's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. value as you level up and give him whatever perks you think will work for him. He doesn't need any mods exactly, but Liberty Reborn, which overhauls the Minutemen into a much better faction, and Everyone's Best Friend, which lets you have Dogmeat in addition to any other companion, would both be good options. I hope you enjoy playing this build if you decide to, good luck, and happy hunting!
The cloth on the suppressor on the lever action rifle is a suppressor wrap. So the suppressor isn’t just cloth over the barrel but a suppressor with a suppressor wrap. Suppressor wraps are used to stop heat haze from obscuring your vision when aiming down sights as suppressors heat up very fast
For the Shipbreaker (11:24): bring your Spray 'n Pray (with skilled explosive perks). I suppose he has not massive hitpoints but heavy damage reduction (bypassed by explosives?) On a (quick save modded) survival game I had found a 2shot assault rifle a few hours before in fh (random drop) and it smashed everything even mirelurk queens pretty fast. I was very surprised when this worm ate like 50 5.56 and didn't really care. Luckily I had my explosive 10mm - I think it was like 3 24x mags (maybe 4). Most likely you wouldn't even have to reload the Spray 'n Pray.
So glad you revisited Far Harbor. I can tell that Sooo much work was put into this, and it’s a far cry better than the original videos. Hope to see you do the same for Automatron and Nuka World.
I just thought of something. If you put the srtiker mod on the big boy, can you essentially duplicate bowling balls with the two shot effect and collecting the shot ammo????
Atom's Bulwark has a maximum resistance increase of +60, the damage resistance and energy resistance are atleast increased with 15 points. This makes Atom's Bulwark, as far as I can tell, the only piece of regular armour that can beat Ballistic Weave.
Late to the party here, but the barrel on that lever action isn't wrapped with cloth, the suppressor itself is. Common for snipers to do as it prevents the enemy from seeing the shiny suppressor sticking off the end of your rifle. And the flechette round for the harpoon gun, that doesnt mean shotgun, it means the rounds it would shoot out are connected by a wire, which would tear through organs. A trick used by old pirates and sailors with their cannons. Was much easier to take down a mast on a ship with flechette. And the "iron sight" you mention "for lack of a better term"; is called a "spider sight" do to its resemblance to a spider web. These were used a lot during WW2 on Naval gunships. Great video man. :)
I started shipbreaker during my second mission on the island. Having no idea what I was walking into, my poor level 25 sole survivor and her dog trapped shipbreaker in water and used half of our ammunition on killing it. I also did not have power armour equipped.
The kiliton radium rifle is the best gun in the game. Easy to find bullets, good scaling damage for high level, modifiable to pack even more punch and for automatic mode.. every playthrough I rush to far harbor just to get that
3:51 the suppressor is not just a cloth around the barrel (it wouldn't work) there have to be holes drilled in the barrel so that the bullet slows down below the speed of sound and doesn't create a sonic boom which is responsible for the majority of the sound created the cloth is there just to conceal the flashes
Old reliable is the game's version of Mare's Leg. @03:50. The 'cloth' around the silencer is a polymer called Nomex. It has two purposes: makes handling the silencer easier with ungloved hands. Second it reduces heat mirage produced from discharge. It's not just cloth. It's a real thing on weapons today.
The suppressor on the lever action rifle is a traditional suppressor not cloth. The outer layer is s supressor wrap, which is used to prevent "mirage" coming off the suppressor as it heats up. With some of the bulky rounds that 45-70 govt pushes out I would say thats a good idea
I've done shipbreaker's quest about a dozen times or so. Only once did I get it from Longfellow. Two or three times from settlers. Most commonly I randomly found her. I also found out the hard way that if you destroy Far Harbor and/or kill Longfellow you can still get the quest, but you can never complete it. Had one open quest forever, bothered the crap out of me.
I guess this is a bit late, but you forgot to mention the very unique ability of the "robes of atom's devoted" armor. It grants 100% complete radiation resistance once you are heavily radiated and it lets you heal back hp to full even while you are that irradiated.
Whaaat my trusty old radium rifle is a dlc weapon? Didn't know that! :D Mine got 50% more damage against humans... i call it the "Menschenfresser" (human eater)

14:22 Thats a Volksturmgehwer! How the hell did these people get a last ditch German weapon from over 300 years ago?
Fiefdom Of Umbria I just interpreted it as the Children of Atom manufacturing their own rifles by hand in the nucleus, as to why it looks like the volkstrumgehwer it’s a pretty basic rifle design so not out of the question that they came up with it independently from any German design. The meta answer is that the game designers probably liked the look of the rifle and thought the aesthetic of it would fit since it was a last ditch improvised weapon
The divergence, in the Fallout timeline, is believed to be after WW2.
Not to mention a double dose of Quantum blue mushroom clouds
quick note on some of the far harbor weapons, the harpoon gun, meat hook and hooked stick all do more damage against aquatic enemies, I.E. mirelurks, fog crawlers, anglers, etc. so using them against those enemies sees a fairly big boost in damage.

They're both based on real models

I never realized that the leaver action rifle was just the brush gun in fallout 4, it even uses .45-70 like in New Vegas
The lever action suppressor is an actual suppressor and the cloth wrapped around it is probably modeled after real suppressors, people sometimes put the wrap on the suppressor to help dissipate heat mirage (because suppressors get hot) which could interfere with long range shooting.

Am I the only one who wants oxhorn to do a like "what's happening to the NCR and legion during fallout 4"? I'm just interested to see what he thinks
I mean you kinda got a answer with the TV show
I wanted to gain the rescue divers suit, but the quest to help Mitch’s uncle failed because I waited to long to see him and he died due to trapper attacks. So I had to reload an older safe so I could get the divers suit.

I have never played a fallout game but I love the lore. Today my family did a virtual quiz that my uncle and aunt made, the first section was name the pet and the first question was about Rex from Fallout: NV, so I said it is from either fallout 3 or NV so it cant be dogmeat (my household knows nothing about fallout) and that I think it is called Rex. I would never have known that if I hadn't found your AMAZING channel.
I hope you are doing well in these dark times
ps. I am in New Zealand and we are in FULL lockdown
The opening makes me feel like I'm watching a zombies opening cutscene

The suppressor for the lever-action rifle isn’t just a cloth wrapping, it’s an actual suppressor wrapped in cloth.
I haven’t played this game in nearly a year and yet this video excited me greatly hahah I might have to finally finish this dlc
I did a survival mode playthrough. It's worth giving a try if you haven't.
With the striker fat man legendary effect on the big boy you can also infinite caps by selling the modified bowling balls
For the Shipbreaker (11:24): bring your Spray 'n Pray (with skilled explosive perks). I suppose he has not massive hitpoints but heavy damage reduction (bypassed by explosives?)
On a (quick save modded) survival game I had found a 2shot assault rifle a few hours before in fh (random drop) and it smashed everything even mirelurk queens pretty fast.
I was very surprised when this worm ate like 50 5.56 and didn't really care. Luckily I had my explosive 10mm - I think it was like 3 24x mags (maybe 4). Most likely you wouldn't even have to reload the Spray 'n Pray.

3:51 the suppressor is not just a cloth around the barrel (it wouldn't work)
there have to be holes drilled in the barrel so that the bullet slows down below the speed of sound and doesn't create a sonic boom which is responsible for the majority of the sound created

So the Harvester is Far Harbors version of Windshear. Got it ;-).
Lol still finding loopholes in the game in 2020. infinite ammo is useful.
The suppressor on the lever action rifle is a traditional suppressor not cloth. The outer layer is s supressor wrap, which is used to prevent "mirage" coming off the suppressor as it heats up. With some of the bulky rounds that 45-70 govt pushes out I would say thats a good idea
"doses us with radiation"

I've done shipbreaker's quest about a dozen times or so. Only once did I get it from Longfellow. Two or three times from settlers. Most commonly I randomly found her.
I also found out the hard way that if you destroy Far Harbor and/or kill Longfellow you can still get the quest, but you can never complete it. Had one open quest forever, bothered the crap out of me.
So you wiped out an entire settlement, and what bothered you was ...the open questline?

I guess this is a bit late, but you forgot to mention the very unique ability of the "robes of atom's devoted" armor. It grants 100% complete radiation resistance once you are heavily radiated and it lets you heal back hp to full even while you are that irradiated.
