That was GREAT!!! You just encouraged me further to buy less plastic, giving me hope and joy for my favorite environment! It also encourages me to go for more local food and grow my own! Super happy!

Interesting she mentioned red tide followed be fish dieoff. There's a theory this is what happened in the biblical story of the plagues in pharaoh's egypt. River said to turn red followed by flies (from all the dead fish) followed by frogs (which leave the toxified water.

Two points: 1) Could the Marlin be hunting in the lower oxygen areas? 2) Why not even mention choosing to have less/no children, and to have them later in life?

Overall a great presentation. I learned so much. What a contribution to humanity's knowledge base. Powerful

What we REALLY need are far FEWER HUMANS! There are almost 8 BILLION HUMANS, after oil, only about 500 MILLION could be fed & sustained.
How do you think we will reduce our #?
Like YEAST, we will grow & consume until we can't, then billions of us will DIE from excess heat, starvation, disease & in WARS.
We are no "wiser" than YEAST in a petri dish!

If the only source of oxygen for the ocean is from the surface, and mixing is low, why is that not a good thing? If mixing was high, the thin layer of more oxygen rich ocean would reduce or disappear. Who does this help? The rise in the rest of the ocean, would l suspect, be marginal.

Oxygen is also produced by PLANTS suspended in the sea like phytoplankton & by algae (seaweed) so surface mixing isn't the only source of oxygen.

So the ocean is assuming 93% of the heat in the atmosphere? Really? But doesn’t the atmosphere give off enough heat to balance the heat received from the sun, plus a little bit to make up for the heat generated in the earths core? And doesn’t some of that heat get used to create evaporation, that fuels, in part, the weather. All that with just 7% doesn’t seem right. When ever someone’s say x%, I ask percent of what? And if they say 100, they are missing the point.

As an educational exercise, this is poor. The graphs are confusing, the relevance unclear. Yes, water contains less oxygen than air. So what? Fish are not birds. The high speed dialogue contains information that you then ask us to disregard. Why say it at all? Slow down. Plan more. Start with a road map. Develop an argument. Don’t assume agreement, get the customer saying, “Yes”, not “Yes, but...”. I might watch the end of this, to see if it makes any sense, read backwards. If so I will let you know. Don’t overreact to this criticism. It is only my opinion and no one else cares.

So how about this: Start with fishing. Explain how the great fisheries of the world draw up nutrients, just pick an example and explain the dynamics of that example. Don’t hold back, sell the miracle of life, the benefits, the importance to humanity. Whole nine yards. Then present the problems facing the fishery not as examples of the evil nature of men, but issues to be studied, learned about and fixed. De-oxygenation is one of these. Talk about what could be done.
Don’t link it to global warming as the big crisis, because no one has changed their mind on that in decade, so landing that fish probably is beyond anyone, even you. Give hope, because no problem is ever fixed without it. Good luck.

She has a um, problem with um, "um".
    It's rather um, distracting.
The word "um" is not in a dictonary.
