In this video I have shared a solution to the issue being faced by everyone when trying to watch a video on their car screen or head unit while driving using their android phones.

@@DowgMusic1 no i just see the videos along with the compass on the right which cannot be removed. But that's not an android auto setting, that's Kia's head unit's firmware setting. Maybe that's the issue you are facing. Check the head unit's settings maybe you find something

Honestly I've been trying to find a permanent solution for Netflix but their security is too strong can't seem to bypass the screen mirroring in any app as of now. Android 12 galaxy s22 ultra here as well. Android auto through an android head unit (aftermarket). I'm not getting the AAAD app to show in android auto app menu. Anyone know why?

Glad it worked for you. Unfortunately that feature has been locked by android auto. I myself prefer the full screen but for now have to deal with the smaller one. Will update my channel with a video in case i find a workaround though.
Okay so I just went in my Mazda CX-5, and it actually does work! Thank you very much! The only issue I'm having, is that my radio is not a touch screen and the center knob that controls the movement of the cursor is not configured properly... So when you trying to select a video to play on TH-cam it's very wonky.. is there possibly another version of this that is formatted for non-touch screen head units on cars? Thank you in advance and I apologize if it's a stupid question
Oh wow that's good to know atleast it works. And not at all it's not a stupid question by any means I'm glad to help. So this is an odd question to be honest. I'm not sure of the solution. We can try one solution though which may or may not work.
So now you 2 apps in your phone; AAD and Carstream, I believe. Let's try updating the AAAD app to latest version 1.4.3 which I told to ignore in my video. Since the version is latest it might have a fix for your screen's issue🤷🏻♂️. Don't delete the other app. As long as the other app is in your phone, theoretically the app should work even with the latest version. Let me know how it turns out.

No problem at all. There are AA Mirror and AA Mirror Plus apps in AAAD as well. You can try them. I haven't tried them till now since I like to keep my phone free while driving. My app shows my next available download on the 26th of this month. I'll try then and let you know how it turns out. With reference to the previous method I showed in my old videos, they won't work now. As of this AAAD is the only method it will work.

I use carstream for Google but when I try to log in to certain sites foxtel (australian) and celtic tv, both of which I have accounts for, it always says I need to put in my log in details. But I do, and I can't seem to log in 😢 any help would be greatly appreciated

You are welcome and I'm glad it worked for you too. The latency is mostly due to either older bluetooth version in case of wireless connection or a low quality cable usually provided with phone in case of wired connection. Try using a great quality cable as wired connections work best. My low quality cable also gives me similar issues.

Glad it's working for you. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a split screen feature yet that I know of. However, you can use the AA Mirror plus app to mirror your phone which can then show both the navigation along with videos together. I've made a video on AA Mirror Plus and AA Mirror if you want to check them out.

It was working on my Samsung device but since the time I moved to OnePlus 12r (Oxygen 14 version) , car stream is stopped appearing on list of apps on Android auto customisation list or car head unit.

I recently came to know that this method is not working for some Android 12 devices and are currently being looked upon by AAAD team. This should be fixed soon as well. You may contact their customer support team within the app itself for an even quicker resolution.
Hi, I would need this for A12 too. I cannot find na option inside the app to contact their customer support. Where is it? Do you know when we can expect a fix for A12?
@@virsli100 I understand you mean Android version 12. Yeah you may contact them. In the AAAD app, top right corner, 3 dots, click on help and it asks if you want to send an email. Same thing I'm getting here. I hope they make this app more interactive.

Glad you found my video useful! Unfortunately, we have to first select the search box on the car and then type there itself or on your phone if you see a google keyboard pop up on your phone at that time.
It works on my samsung 22 ultra. The sound is great, the only problem is the picture lags behind the sound.Maybe you know what the problem is.

hi. glad it works on your s22 ultra! yeah the sound lag or latency is basically due to the connectivity technology used. If you are using bluetooth then there will be obvious lag. and if you are using a wired connection then the lag will me less. try using a better quality cable. if u are already using the samsung original cable then the lag will not get any better. Sadly, this lag just cannot be mitigated. Hope it helps. Enjoy and drive safely
there is an issue with some android 12 phones which AAAD team is working on to resolve but we don't know when the issue will be resolved. did you try any other app in the aaad app? try fermata auto. refer my video for that i have made a few
@@HarryWT I haven't tried any of the others, i was going to use the free option, i would of upgraded to pro but i seen there was no paypal option to purchase 😕, i don't feel safe putting my card details on an unknown site downloaded from google, hard to trust places even known ones these days, that have taken my money in the past. It is saying i got no dowloads left but i never clicked anything apart from the carstream, says i got to wait till September 2rd even know still no carstream or anything on my phone that downloaded, hopefully it gets fixed
@@exploremarcus oh ok. yeah see after you clicked on carstream maybe by accident you pressed the back button or something OR maybe the app got downloaded but it isn't compatible with your phone which is why you are not able to view it. wait till the next download or try using a spare phone if you or any of your family member's have hopefully it'll work for you. take care

sure, it should work just fine. Depends on what phone you are using. Issues have been coming up in some android 12 and 13 phones while particularly the samsung s series phones seem to be working till now.
Any solution for full screen mode for hyundai i20 . How to remove the android auto portion on the right . And enable full screen mode. Plz help me out.

Hi Tom. Do you mean the loop function at your end is enabled and you wish to stop it going in loop? If so then just click on the video being played and just below it you should be able to see the loop option. Click on it until you find the desired setting. Hope that resolves the issue. Take care.

1st off thank you for these videos they work like a charm, except I cannot get Amazon prime Netflix or any other movie playing app to mirror on my car just TH-cam is there a fix for this?
Glad you found my videos useful, I'm happy to help. Unfortunately, we cannot mirror or even view most OTT apps on the car head unit. Though you can try using the plex app which seems to work fine.

I recommend fermata auto which is great player for movies download in your phone, fermata auto also has inbuilt TH-cam,
Even car stream support movies in your phone, there is an option of internal storage on top from there you can play downloaded video of your phone . Even if your phone is off it works but in mirroring phone should be on all time

Hi, unfortunately, it's because of Android 14 update. Every phone that has been upgraded to Android 14 is currently facing this issue. There is no solution yet and I'm keeping a close watch at this. Will upload a video as soon as I find a solution to this.

Hi. Unfortunately, if the android auto in the car itself is asking you to update the app then there's no alternative, none that I was able to find till now. You can try this method or the side load method in part 7 of this entire series.

Try using the knobs or buttons whichever applicable. Everything should work. Which phone and android version are you using?

@@HarryWT Hi I used a RedMi 10C Phone I was able to install AAAD and Fermata, but then when I tried to play movies in Infotainment, only audio is playing and Not VIDEO. I have seen your warning that it may not work with Mi Phone so I bought a Samsung A13 (New), installed the AAA but unfortunately the Fermata wasnt able to be installed despite saying it it installed, I cannot see it in my Apps List. I have reset a the new phone and retry, still no luck, any tips?

I've followed this to the letter and other videos btthe car stream app still doesn't show on my android auto apps on my head unit. Any ideas? my phone is a samsung s22 ultra on android version 14 and my car is a mazda 3 UK car
Unfortunately, every android 14 phone is facing this issue ever since the phones were upgraded to the current version. I'm currently looking for a solution for this and will upload a solution as soon as I find something. It's no longer working on my s23 ultra either.

My pleasure. Seriously? That's never happened to me and I have this installed in 2 of my phones. Maybe it was an accidentally call. If you think it's acting strange then delete it for now and see if it happens again. You can try reinstalling it after a month if you like. But I doubt its because of the app. Never heard of this before.

I just looked (2/27/2024) in PlayStore, I do not see AAAD downloader available. I am not trying to run videos, I want to display my CarScanner app from phone to main screen in my Ford Mach-e
I think you'll need a separate adapter for that. I haven't tested it myself so I won't be able to confirm you how it works exactly.
Long shot.. But as of today does this still work with Ford sync 3.3, with a note 20 android 13 ?
As for android 13, it still works on my s20 fe. Android 14 however, not working at the moment. All apps apart from aa mirror and aa mirror plus work perfectly for me even today on android 13. Hope that helps.

When I did this I couldn't control the audio.. it was always too loud to listen to and I had to stop it.. is there a setting that I'm missing?
No there isn't any such setting that I know of. Which Android version are you using? It should be working just fine. Check the car head u it for any possible settings since each brand has a different setup

I won't be able to confirm since I've never used it. Maybe you can try the trial version first to see if it works and if you like it then you can purchase it. Always happy to help! I'm not sure why it's not letting you login. You can try the fermata auto app perhaps that will allow it since it has a browser as well.

No it is 11 but after several uninstalls and installs of the latest version of the AAAD, it finally skip the crash point and now I have it:)
P.S. it is hard to navigate the content on Mazda 6, 2019 because the android auto disables the touch screen and you can only use the knob. Other than that, it is awesome 👍

Hi. Is your oneplus 9pro running on android 12? I recently came across some version 12 models are facing this similar issue. I read an article somewhere that they are currently working on resolving this too. You can contact AAAD customer support informing them of this issue I'm sure they'll fix it soon since it's the latest model.
I got this working...kind of. I can get Carstream downloaded, but it is unbearably slow and is obviously running my processor to it's max because my phone gets super hot and battery drains insanely fast. I am using a OnePlus 10T, so it has plenty of power. It is also not my internet connection because it acts the same way on my phone with 300mbps over wifi. I can't even scroll through videos because it is so slow. It took about 5 minutes to get a video playing in my car, but when I did it worked pretty well. There was a little bit of desync between video and audio but not a big deal. Unfortunately it is just too slow and laggy to actually be able to use.

Try reenabling the developer options in your phone. If nothing works, the try the alternative methods mentioned below, at least 1 should work:

Hi. My phone's android auto version is at 7.6.621734-release and I can still see all the apps. Did you upgrade your phone's android version as well by any chance? Android version 12 users are facing such issues and I read somewhere AAAD team is working on resolution of it.

@@anantkajaria2738 ohh.ok..then i guess it should work somehow. do you remember the last AA version? you can uninstall the current version of aa (uninstall updates from app settings), stop auto install updates from settings and then download and install that version. what is your current version? same as mine?

Oh. Well I think you opted for the non android auto variant when you purchased the car. If not, then try using a different cable preferably a cable that allows you to transfer data to your laptop/pc. That might fix the issue.

glad it worked for you bro 😀. Yeah I don't think there should be any issues. I've been using it ever since I made the video and haven't faced any issues since. But don't go by my word of mouth man 😅 . These days we need to grant all permissions in any app before using it. Try if and see if you face any issues. Delete it if you feel there's any breach. I have it installed in 2 of my phones without any issues. Enjoy bro

Car stream is working in my car Maruthi Baleno Alpha 2023 model. But AA Mirror plus is not showing on my car screen. I am using Samsung note 20 with android version 11.

As even i am facing trouble searching youtube videos. The keyboard is un-available in driving mode. The videos are running fine.
You can update the aaad app to check if it resolves the issue. The reason this old version was recommended is because most phones are compatible with it and not latest versions..

@@hitechpolymer6914 s10+ should be compatible. If you face any issues simply uninstall aaad and reinstall my version. Don't delete carstream and it will work

I tried this on my Chevy truck installed everything, realized I had android at, so I did all the updates to get to android 9. Plug it in and I don’t see the car stream app on my screen. Not sure what else to do.
Which phone are you trying with? So you upgraded to android version 9, right?
@@HarryWT I have a galaxy s8+ sitting around that's not active. I use wifi to update it and download everything I needed and I'll tether it to my other to use wifi to play videos.
@@SpoonedITR ok. ideally it should work just fine. did you allow all the permissions for both AAAD and carstream in the phone settings? also please try restarting the phone as that worked for one other user.

@@23emchi Yes, that does help. Well actually I've been coming across a lot of people complaining with Android 12 devices. Which is why I mentioned in my pinned comment as well that some Android 12 devices have some or the other issue. But I think it should get fixed soon since it is the latest version which most people will be getting access to soon enough and AAAD just can't afford to lose their customers. I would recommend not to delete the screen2auto app, just keep it and check it from time to time because if deleted you will have to waste another free download unless you bought the app. Hope it works soon for you. @@HarryWT , Thank uou very much for your interest , in fact ,after changing some options and reseting the app , i get rid of the black screen , but now the screen is smaller than my car screen and the touch controls doesn't work except the double tap on big icon .
on the s2a laucher home page the touch control work for scrolling and launching an app , youtube for example : youtube opens in a smaller window (i can see the AA home screen at the extreme left of my screen car but cant scroll or launch a video on youtube from the car , only from my phone ,

@@23emchi ohhh man you deleted the app 😄no worries. To be honest I don't trust the android play store version because they are not always the most updated ones. I trust the developer's website since they keep updating the information there. Plus, I believe play store has to comply with the terms and conditions which, unfortunately, nowadays say we cannot drive while watching youtube. I understand it's not safe but the driver barely watches the screen, it usually for the passengers. Anyways, yeah i guess you'll have to wait a month. I'll find another app for you by then. Give me a week's time. I'll give detailed look at the app then you can decide too.

Glad it worked for you! Yeah the keyboard will work only while parked in order to avoid typing while driving which may result in an accident if the driver is doing so. I think that's ok as a precaution.

Did you download carstream from google play store or from within the AAAD app like I showed in the video. The AAAD carstream works but the android auto carstream doesn't work. Let me know how it turns out for you. It's worked for everyone I have come across. Which phone are you using btw.
Has anyone else had any success navigating through car stream and Android auto in the 2021 Mazda CX-5? This head unit is not a touch screen, and it is very difficult to pick and choose the videos when you're connected to car stream, has anyone had any success with this? Is there something else I can possibly download that would help me to navigate through the menus because the center knob in between the seats that normally controls the movements is not working correctly and you are unable to pick and choose videos. Hi. Unfortunately only videos played via a pendrive can be played in full screen. However, that could be brand specific too. Check your car's media settings maybe there's an option to change it.

Hi. Yeah there was one more user who had the same phone as you also running on android 12. Unfortunately it didn't work form him either. This phone doesn't seem to be compatible yet. Some android 12 phones are incompatible at the moment and hopefully aaad team will fix this issue soon.

it mostly depends upon the phone model and android version you are using. I'm guessing you are using android 14. A lot of issues with that current version and I'm currently looking into it for a solution.

Right. Carsteam is youtube. For netflix we need to root the phone apparently but that'll ruin the phone warranty so I haven't tried. Will upload a video if I find an alternative.

@@anantkajaria2738 like I've mentioned earlier and in pinned comment some android 12 phones are showing issue and AAAD team is working on solution. I'm not really sure if youtube premium would result in this issue or not. You could try using a different normal account altogether since creating an account hardly takes much time. And if you have a different phone you could try that too. But this should be working just fine.
