When you said "my daughter" 🥲🩷
You know, for someone that just grew a human in their body, have had said human surgically ejected and then had to begin parenthood with a literal sagging brain (that whole experience sounds terrifying btw) you are sounding incredibly put together! Glad to hear your update and that your little family are doing well after the difficult start
return of the queen
somehow I found the conicderation of you not wearing wigs so your infant can regognize you better so wholesome. I never thought about that now it makes sense why so many babies react badly when their fathers shave their beards
Good grief that CFS leak sounds horrendous! So sorry you had to experience that, especially given all of the other postpartum pains I'm sure you were having. Glad you're feeling better x
It was only a month? God, it felt like forever. 😅 Good to see you, Jen. 😊 Still very happy and excited for you.
So happy to see you. Sorry you have had such an awful start to motherhood however wishing you, Baby Girl, and Mr M well x x
Congratulations 🎉 on your new daughter. I’m sorry to hear that you went through so many complications, but glad you are on the mend. Much love to you and your family.❤
I have the most massive smile seeing this.
Congratulations Jen. Sorry to hear about your hospital experience, but so glad you seem to be doing well now. Enjoy your girl, as a first time mum trust your instincts, panic is entirely normal!
So thrilled to see you around again, Jen! Hope you, your daughter and Mr. M are all getting sleep and happy and well. ❤
That CSF leak must have been so traumatic and unexpected, but you seem to be coping brilliantly.
I understand what you mean about travelling between worlds and familiar books - I'm handling a tricky personal situation and each time I pick up a book, I wonder how it will be etched onto my memory.
Take the time you need to adjust, but I've missed your book chats (and baking vlogs)!
Lovely to see you looking so well Jen. Lucky little girl to have lots of books to enjoy as she grows. I remember our house was full of the "Little Golden Books' when I was a child, we had piles of them at one time. Actually I'm quite sad that we didn't manage to keep some. There were some wonderful Little Golden Books.
Sorry to hear you went through that, but this is such amazing news and I'm so happy for you! I wish your family many happy days ahead. I think you made the right decision keeping your child's life private, but thank you for sharing this with us. Congrats Jen!
My heart melted at ‘my daughter’ ❤ I also have alopecia and my biggest fear would be the hair pulling stage as she gets older. Could be ‘interesting’ 😊😂
Welcome back and congratulations
So glad to see you again. So many things to adjust to, but you’ll make it if you’re patient with yourselves. Your little girl is going to be very lucky, with book loving parents!
Jen! So happy to see you. Congratulations again on the birth of your little one. I'm sorry it was so painful and difficult in the beginning. Hope you continue to feel better and stronger. I'm 32 weeks pregnant with baby no.1 also so very interested :) Much love xx
you look beautiful; enjoy your motherhood.
I'm glad you are doing well now. Congratulations!
All the best for the family ❤
It's so good to see you again! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Congratulations on baby girl. Sending lots of love....
What a lovely video. I actually just came here from a Ben Reads Good video! I discovered his channel yesterday and immediately became obsessed. Glad to see you mention him! ❤
Congrats on your baby girl! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!🎉🎉🎉
It's great to see you back in my TH-cam notifications! And I'm so glad you recovered from the csf leak, though sorry it happened in the first place. I had one once after a brain surgery and it was very scary yet also very boring (I had to lay flat on my back as much as possible so it wouldn't drip out my nose).
Woo hoo, great that you're back. Congratulations on baby!!! So very happy for you. xxx
It is wonderful to see you well. Enoy every moment, as time rushes by, take your time getting back to work xx
Yay!!!! Welcome back! We missed you!
Congratulations!
So glad you are back!! Remember to prioritise rest though
Congratulations on the birth of beautiful daughter, many blessings to the both of you and to your partner, Mr. M. I hope you have a successful recovery from your surgical complications.
Lovely to see you back ❤
Welcome back! What a lovely update video ☺️ always a lovely treat to watch your videos when they come out Sundays, whether they’re weekly or more occasional as they rightly should be currently 😉📚 So many of my books (read & to be read) are thanks to your recommendations - and your own writing 👍 Got me back into the reading habit after years of almost no reading
Congratulations, Jen! I'm so happy for you and glad to see you!
Lovely to see you looking & sounding well. Sounds like it's been a ride! Hope you continue to recover & figure out how to deal with looking after a brand new human as well as everything else!!
Wishing you and your family all of the best!
Great to see your face again, so glad all is well with you all.
So happy you are healing well.
Great to see you back and many congratulations x
Welcome back 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤ so genuinely happy for you
How on earth did they manage to damage the spinal cord? woah! I'm so glad you have recovered from that! enjoy your time with mini jen
Hello.!!! Soo good to see you back.. Been waiting for this video. Now on to the video :)
Congratulations!!! Thank you for coming on to say hi, what a coherent video, I wouldn't have been able to do this at 6 weeks!! 😮 look after yourself and take your time, we will all be here 😊
Dear Jen! Its so lovely to see you again. You are positively shining!! I'm so pleased to hear that you are all doing okay, after the bumpy start. Sending good wishes your way!!
So happy to see you again ! Lots of love, Karen
It was really great to see you back again, take your time and enjoy your lovely new life with your daughter. Reading to and later with your child is the best experience ever just thinking about it brings back wonderful memories. So sorry you had a bad time but glad that you are feeling better now. 😊
Take good care if yourself...glad to know you are recovering from your delivery...wishing you well with your baby daughter 💕
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!
So great to see you! I can’t tell you how happy I am that you’re a mom. ❤

Congratulations and welcome back 🥰
Yeah for a Jen video. ❤️Sorry you had such a horrible time but pleased you are doing better now xx
Ben is the best. He’s so so funny and clever.
I remember the Topsy & Tim books!!
Lovely natter 🥰 ❤
Welcome back Jen, congratulations on the arrival of your new little human. 😊😊
So nice to see you back, Jen. Glad you're doing well, and congratulations to you and Mr M on the birth of your little daughter. What a joy she must be to you, having waited so long for her. Sending love 💛
Oh my, congratulations to all 3 of you!! So wonderful!!!!❤❤
Congratulations Jen❤
Jen, so great to see you back! The CSF leak sounds like a literal nightmare but wonderful to hear you and your daughter(!!!) are doing well. Hope it’s all blue skies from here ❤
And thanks so much for the mention! 🙌 I didn’t get a tag notification so I was very confused about where the new subs were coming from 😂 But really delighted to hear you’ve been enjoying my vids. Thank you!
Love. Just Love. Congratulations 🎉❤
Congratulations and welcome back.
Sorry you had such a traumatic experience. Glad you feeling much better and many congratulations on having a daughter x
'..he's broken by alcoholism and anxiety" - that's Al, not the horse 😂
Glad to have you back and congrats on your daughter!
Congratulations, and wow, what a scary, awful-sounding start to your parenting journey! Thank you for sharing, because hopefully folks will hear that and they ever (heaven forbid) experience something like it they'll know to be on high alert! I had something similar happen when I gave birth to my son - a symptom of something going very wrong, but I didn't tell anyone because I thought "I just gave birth, my body is supposed to be doing weird things." YIKES! But, again, congratulations, and so glad to see this video on TH-cam today!!
I came here after listening to your Jane Eyre video. I subscribed to your channel. Interesting Jane Eyre ended with her marriage to Rochester and having a child. Also interesting that Charlotte Bronte got married and had so much trouble in her pregnancy. She died from dehydration. Today she would have been helped with modern medicine. Now I find out about your birth journey.
Welcome back, Jen! 💕
Congratulations on the arrival of your baby girl! The brain injury sounds so scary, what a start! But also what a story for when she's older, my two girls love hearing about what went on around their births :) Thanks for mentioning me, that was a surprise as I have been watching you for a little while (I am rubbish at commenting)! 🤗 Thanks as well for the TV, podcast and TH-cam recommendations, lots to explore! xx
♥️ I am also rubbish at commenting; we can be rubbish together 😂 x
Welcome back!
I'm happy you're back, even if for now it's just one video 😄
So lovely to see you back ☺️☺️☺️ Really happy to hear that you are better now and looking forward to your future videos. Take care x

So happy to see you back!!! We have missed you.
I just found you and am 5 months post partum myself with my first. Love books and your vibe and your content is very relatable right now. Also had a complicated outcome to my cesarean, although yours sounds much more complicated and challenging. Solidarity and compassion your way Mama. Thanks for sharing!
❤️
Jen, it’s so good to hear from you and that you are all doing well. ❤ Sorry to have heard about the spinal fluid incident. I had the flu during my youngest son’s birth so that wasn’t fun. Blessings to your beautiful family! 🙏❤️
So happy for you Jen - sending you all lots of big love
Lovely to see you Jen! Take all the time you need. Just happy to know you are all well xxx
Good to see you back and glad you are doing better. :) Congratulations, I'm very happy for you!
Congratulations on the long-awaited arrival of your daughter, despite the difficult start. I'm sure we'll all be happy with whatever content you provide, whenever you feel up to it and whenever you have the time.
That sounds dreadful, Jen, I'm happy you are fine now though! How scary for you 😞Congrats on Baby-Girl though, yay! My girl is 28 now, wow, and she is wonderful and you 3 will have many happy years ahead 👶
I have to read The Book of Strange New Things. Been on my shelf for many years, so I should get 'round to it! Watched the Three Body Problem and loved it so much that I bought the trilogy, which I am really looking forward to reading. I guess Netflix had to 'dumb-down' the hard Sci-fi for the general audience, as it may've been a bit too hard to convert that to tv? So happy to see a fellow Kiwi in a lead role 🙌
Congratulations 🎉❤💕🤩🤗💐😍Wonderful news.
Lovely to see you back and knowing you’re all doing well! ❤
Nice to see you again! All the best for you and your family.
I'm so happy for you, I didn't watch you for while. And this is the very best news xxx
Yay!!!! Congratulations!!!😊
I haven’t watched you vlogs for a long while - didn’t know you were pregnant - so delighted to find out today that you have had a baby! Very many CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Sorry to hear about your epidural injury - that sounds very traumatic - it’s wonderful that you got the help you needed and are now much better 🙏 You look so well and happy - your hair looks lovely btw! I’m so happy for you that you have your beautiful daughter 🧡 I have two son’s btw - all grown up now - the cliche that it ‘goes so fast’ is certainly true! So treasure every day with your little one xxxx
Mazel tov Jen on the birth of your daughter!
You look great and once again congratulations to you & hubby ❤
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter ❤ I’m so sorry you had such a post birth traumatic experience! Take care and get rest while you can ❤
Your voice has brought me comforting underwater vibes for 7 years. So chuffed for your new family and glad you're healing well!
Congratulations to you on the Safe arrival of your little one. You have done really well with this video given what you have gone through. Respect you for keeping her private but we will be guessing names for a good while. We will wait for videos , do them as and when you can.
Congratulations 🖤
I will never forget the book I read during the he end of my pregnancy and the birth of Franklin. Unaware of what was to come, I remember lying on a park bench, with my dog sprawled across my extremely pregnant belly and reading The Grapes Of Wrath. A young man pushing an older gentleman in a wheelchair, stopped and said, “This is an amazing book, really good, enjoy,” and then walked off🖤
The next day I went into labour, and the book came with me🤭
Hannah Ricketts is wonderful ... I especially like the ones where she goes for lunch with her sister ...
Congratulations 🥳
thank you for sharing! ❤
Congratulations, Jen!
Oh I love physical 100 though I wonder how many sprains and strains they truly suffer. I was gutted for the runner up in S2.
Congratulations! So sorry for the injury, it sounds absolutely scary.. wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best to your family
Jen, getting a video from you felt like a breath of fresh air! I’m always so put at ease and comforted by your vids so thank you. Happy to be riding along at your pace while you do all of the life things you’ve got going on.
So glad to be able to see and hear you again :) I cant wait to read Julia Armfield's new novel :_ ) She is the best
I was also separated from my daughter just after her birth - my kidneys failed and she had to be at home with family. The scariness does stay with you but im so so glad they knew what it was! Many congratulations!! 🎉
