I have ATP/CTP in August for my airline and your videos are really helpful. Love to get an update. From one “old guy” to another….good for you for following your dream.
That's awesome! I finished training in January. Finished IOE in February. Was on reserve through april. And now in May I'm a line holder and starting to feel really comfortable in the job. I've got just over 100 hours of turbine time. I need to get off my butt and make new videos. I have several scripts ready to go but I've been busy/lazy. I’m 36 and going to an accelerated course in 6 months. I started flying helicopters when I was 19. Long story but I never finished and went down a different path. It’s never been a better time to become a pilot and I’m not getting any younger. I’ve decided to go back and finish my original dream. Except this time I’m going fixed wing. I’m studying hard to knock out my written tests before I start. Thanks for your videos I can’t wait to be where you are!
You are absolutely correct that there's never been a better time, pay and quality of life are amazing at the entry levels. Keep at it, it's 100% worth it!

did my atp course there. 1 day in the CRJ sim, 1 day in the B737, 1 day in A320. Shepard for the written, took a couple extra weeks for the written though.

Heard sheppard was the best to prepare the test but was looking to get the gleim book to study before. What's your thoughts? Safe landings on the ERJ (if you're still on it)
Sheppards is by far the best option by far! I am on the ERJ still, I'm actually sitting in KORD right now, we just timed out for the day so we are dead heading back to Boise to pick up the rest of our trip. Best of luck on the FAA ATP! Hit me up if you have any questions.

What advice would you offer someone with a passion for aviation and wants to become an airline pilot someday?
I did the ATP course for my Canadian conversion. Super easy and the 2 days of 737 Max sim were great. No problem at all

I am super excited for my course coming on the 16th. I have done almost 3k hrs Part 91 so will definitely be a culture shock! Great video!

Honnestly, I'm not sure. The company set everything up for me, so I never had to research different locations or companies that provide the course.

There was tons of study time in the evenings. I did a ton before I got there as well.

99% of airlines simply require that you cover them. I have full sleeves and I won't remove them

It can be any any day of the week or month. Mine started on a Friday
Some of the regional's are experiencing ridiculous wait times for sims. Have you made it past that?
I'm taking the final checkride this week. The sims have been delayed, and so is the IOE once you graduate. I'm hearing 6-8 weeks.
