I wouldn't have believed that a review on TH-cam could actually demonstrate a difference in the sonic signatures of two different speaker models -- what a clever way of pulling it off! Kudos!
Hi there! Today we redo, a comparison that was done here on my channel some time ago, Edifier S2000 Pro versus Klipsch R-15PM comparison, but this time in different setup with different music and connected by analog inputs rather than Bluetooth. Does that change my opinion about this duo? Let's find out! Starting from the phisycal appearance and build quality, both speakers look classy and are well finished, but I have to give a nod to Edifier for better build quality as it just feels more sturdy and substantial compared with Klipsch. On the featre side, both are very well equipped but this time it is Klipsch that has the upper hand thanks to subwoofer output and USB input, that Edifier lacks. Big fact to notice is that Klipsch has substantial self noise (hiss) problem that will for sure annoy in the nearfield, Edifier is almost silent in this regard. Soundwise, Edifier feels like a more grown up and more complete speaker. Klipsch is clearly voiced to work with subwoofer and without one it sounds rather tinny and bright. Klipsch has an emphasis on upper midrange and treble making it appear clearer and more open, but the quality of those ranges is not as good as in Edifier IMO. For me Edifier is more balanced speaker with upper ranges smoother, yet more detailed and more 3D in presentation. Which one You will like more is up to Your tastes ofcourse. Basswise Edifier gives Klipsch a run for its money, its bass is more rounded, more groovy and more impactful, it works great without a help of subwoofer which can not be said about Klipsch. Edifier also can play on much higher levels without a distortion while Klipsch starts to sound hard and egdy much sooner. Overall, I find Edifier to be superior speaker and would recommend it to anyone looking for great performing bookshelf speaker for music listetning and media consumption, regardless of the setup You want to use it in (desktop or TV for example), especially if You like Your speakers smooth and relaxed. If on the other hand You prefer more forward and brighter sound and plan to use subwoofer, that Klipsch might be better option for You. What do You think though? Which one sounds better in You opinion and why? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!
Big win for the edifier on this one. It seemed the Klipsch had more Separation on the high end was definitely brighter but the edifier is just smoother warmer and more satisfying to listen to.
Having just purchased the Edifier S2000 Pros from Amazon I can tell you that they sound very boomy in person and do not have anywhere near the detail or crisp highs that my Klipsch RF62 IIs have. I have returned them and will be purchasing a set of the Klipsch R-15PMs instead. They may not have the bass response of the Edifiers, but it's far easier to add a subwoofer than it is to coax clarity out of a set of muddy, muffled sounding speakers.
Was anything done to compensate for the change in tweeter position between these two speakers in relation to the recorder? The Edifier tweeters look higher, not to mention the upward tilt to the front panel. I think that's why we're perceiving recessed highs from the s2000 Pro's - and the woofers are basically pointing up toward the mics. These speakers don't sound muddy like this in my living room.
Thanks. The Edifier sounds great, but I'm not sure if it's worth it's asking price. BTW, do you have any access to a Mackie MR624? Would love to see it compared to the LSR305. Possibly even the smaller MR524. Also, Behringer B2031A is s a very interesting monitor as well.
Amazing videos man, i was wondering what amp and sub you recommend for using the R-15pms on pc on a mid range budget, its a sound card needed? i'm new on the audiophile world so feeling a bit lost...thanks
These speakers have built in amp no need for amp or receiver. Also klipsch makes a 300watt powered sub, grab the klipsch r 41 pm and the klipsch 10inch 300watt powered sub. The R41 pm are the similar as these but 146 bucks on amazon right now. Sub is 229.00 It has to say pm if you don't want to buy amp or receiver
Hi, I really like your video here. After seeing some of your videos, I decided to buy the Klipsch R-15PM. But I'm quite curious about those wireless speakers like the Libratone Zipp, the Sonos and the newest Apple HomePod. If I buy 2 of them and make them in pair and set to the stereo mode, will they outperform those traditional bookshelf speakers like Klipsch R-15PM or Edifier S2000? Looking forward to your newest videos.
Thanks Paul! I highly doubt those wireless speakers would be anywhere near the sound quality of a proper pair of active speakers, but I guess we will find out soon as I plan to compare few wireless speakers with more traditional products here on my channel ;)
Are 500€ worth it for the S2000 Pro? The JBL LSR 305 cost only 200€ here but I would miss the Bluetooth connectivity and there might be hiss with them as well. I am also considering the iLoud Micro Monitors but they seem to be inferior compared to the bigger speakers. I wish the Vanatoo Transparent Zero would be available here (Germany). They would be the perfect speaker for my needs from I have read about them. Perfect size and price point too.
For what it offers, Edifier is worth the money IMO. JBL will sound slightly better especially in the mid ranges, but the build quality and looks are far behind Edifier, not mentioning the features. How You want to use the speakers? On desk or more midfield? How big is Your room?
Thank you for replying! I am planning to use it for media consumption on my desk. My room right now is rather small but I want it to be versatile so when I move to a bigger room I can use that speaker as well.
I belive that JBL will be best choice for You. You can add a simle USB interface like Behringer UMC22 to cotrol the volume of system, plus additional Bluetooth reciever for wireless streaming (JBL has two sets of inputs that can work at the same time). In total it will be ca. 300 dollar system. It will not look as good as Edifier nor it will be as functional (cables!) but it will be excellent value for money. Cheers!
Uh I really dislike having too many cables haha, maybe I will wait if I can get the S2000 Pro for 400€. Thank you!!! Btw any plans to pick up Adam Audio's new budget speakers up (T5V and T7V)? They might be a good challenge for the JBLs!
Edifier slightly too warm and dull, klipsch high end to sharp and would be tiring to listen to for a long time. Anything out there that sits in-between these?
@@BubbafromSapperton does 6 have Bluetooth connection to hook up music from your phone/computer wirelessly? How are the soundstage and low frequency like?
Thanks for taking the time produce this comparison video, great job bud. I personally dislike either of those speakers, my "KEF LS50 Wireless" will blow of of those speakers combine in the water, lol.

I'm going with the r-15pm with a matching sub for my turntable setup
Frankly the Edifier has a depth to the sound that the Klipsch just doesn't have... Great comparison... Thanks...

Edifier have more bass, but Klipsch sounds flat and with more clear voice

by actually listening to that Klipsch R-15PMs in this demo, you probably won't be satisfied with R-15PMs too if S2000pro sounded that bad to you.
Did you keep the klipsch?

Good job making this video. That’s a proper sound test
EDIFIER S2000 PRO VS NEW KLIPSCH R51-PM PLEASE !
KLIPSCH R51-PM sounds worse than R-15PM to me.

I'm with You regarding cables ;) Adam T5V is in my plans for tests in coming months
edifier s3000 pro vs klipsch rp600m please?
Thanks.
Edifier slightly too warm and dull, klipsch high end to sharp and would be tiring to listen to for a long time. Anything out there that sits in-between these?
Edifiers more laid back and natural, Klipsch has a little more zing up top and more forward, both are winners.
If you can get MODECOM ECLIPSE 180 it would be nice to test it...
Klipsch sounds like it has much better tweeters, can hear Vocals and highs a lot better, Edifer sounds long it’s muffled by a pillow
The Edifiers sound more realistic, in my opinion...
Nice video but can you upload in 1080p please ? also, yeah, the Klipsch sounds way better here compared to the edifier
Однозначно S2000 лучше но если к клипшам добавить саб хоть на 8 дюймов то ситуация изменится.
On human voice the edifier is so nasal.....and the Klipsch is obviously more open on the other music proposed.
Edifier S2000 has more bass, Klipsch R-15PM has better & warmer mid for vocal. Listening to this video via my Swan M200 MKIII+
Edifier конечно заметно басистее, но больше на вокале и в целом по вч диапазону понравильсь Klipsch
S2000👍
Klipsch r-15pm vs microlab solo 6c 😁
Nah, you people like tweeters. I miss the middle with the cheaper sounding Klipsch.
I'm not in the market for either, I think both are undesirable if you can spend more... 🤔
You mean like a Honda Civic is not a BMW M3? Like that?
What did you buy after all? I’m also curious.
I wound up getting a pair of Klipsch The Sixes in walnut, I liked the retro design of them. Definitely wasn't a mistake 🤗

@@skny2282 Yeah they're BT, I wanted something simple I could use with Spotify. There's at least one review of them on TH-cam...
Klipsch sound tinny. Edifier sounds a little muddled.
Klipsh голос красиво передаёт, им бы сабвуфер в пару. Edifier верха какие-то задушеные
Верха задушенные на планарном твитере? В реале там с верхом все хорошо. С серединкой вот есть вопросы.
The s2000 are are made to be used with no sub. I

*HK aura studio 3 way better than both tho !*
Edifier S2000 Pro
The speakers are not bad, but you need real music to hear what they can really do.
Thanks for taking the time produce this comparison video, great job bud.
I personally dislike either of those speakers, my "KEF LS50 Wireless" will blow of of those speakers combine in the water, lol.
Well, duh, they cost 6x as much, ofc they'll blow them out of the water.....
And you still need to add a subwoofer also.
*Flex alert*
Klipsch R-15PM
Klipsch are more quality from the Horn's
Edifier что за 100$, что за 400$ - разницы нет. Просто бумкалки бестолковые.
