What a beautiful bird! Donna, you are the bird charmer! I wish my budgies were tame. I have tried to let them out but they always give me a hard time getting them back in the cage. It ends up getting them stressed out. I have watched your videos but I guess my birds are just cage bound.
It can help if you're able to let the bird decide for itself when it can go back in the cage. I would keep mine in my bedroom with the bedroom door closed, and eventually, it would become satisfied with exploring and go back to its "home". Then I'd just close the cage door behind it. If I really needed to catch it and put it away, if you darken the room except for one area, the bird will try to stay in the light. Budgies don't see well in the dark and they will instinctively go to the lighted area where they feel safer. Then they are easier to catch. I hope this helps. I do recommend letting them out in a safe area at times because it's enrichment for them, they can become bored and miserable otherwise. They're smart and like to look around.
@@andreakoupal thank you for the suggestion. I tried that once and when it got dark, they still wouldn't go back in the cage.

Do you have any advice or videos on how to make a bird less afraid of hands? I rescued my bourke from my familu and she likes hanging out with us and sitting on our heads but is very afraid of hands. We use millet to get her on our hands but she often flies to clothed skin over bare skin
