Buy This - QD OLED 240Hz Samsung G93SC Monitor Review
The Samsung OLED G93SC (non smart Tizen OS) Super Ultrawide gaming monitor is the lowest priced 32:9 OLED on the market with a 240Hz refresh rate. The only question is whether its worth the price or not.

Keep up the great work man, and hopefully you enjoy that Fleshlight you asked me for. Cheers brother
Nice backround man.. super sleek..
Picked it up from amazon warehouse return for $702, only thing that turned out bad was the box itself; definitely worth that price!
wow what a blast to read also tho
And the monitor was all good?
i got mine for 900, same thing with me. Monitor works flawlessly!
I love mine. Had it since November and gaming on it is a real immersive experience.
Bruno whats your pc specs?
@@ShailPM 14900k + 4090
Amazing review, I have the smart version, and it's near perfect.
Wish it had 1600px height and an adjustable curve like the corsair flex, but other than that, it's really awesome.
Update: The G9 is still amazing for fps games and racing, but I ended up switching to a 55" S90C which uses the same panel. Have it on a monitor stand with wheels, and it's perfect for my current usecase (work and non-competitive gaming)
What an insane machine👀
Where do you make the image settings on the Samsung Odyssey OLED G93SC?
Directly just on the device? (Only on the device, would be quite cumbersome)
Or conveniently via PC?
the way you have the screen placed and your filming feels like a 3d render, damm
I actually picked this up on Black Friday, for $999. Such an amazing monitor.
Why these monitors doesn’t come with DisplayPort 2.1 is beyond my comprehension.
Hi there! I've been enjoying your fantastic reviews on various displays. Thanks for all the valuable insights! 😋However, I'm still struggling to decide between the G93SC (non-smart TV) and the G95SC (smart TV with reportedly laggy Tizen OS).
The G93SC is essentially the non-smart version of the G9 OLED, but it also boasts Picture-in-Picture mode alongside Picture-by-Picture mode. Conversely, the G95SC, with its smart TV capabilities, only offers Picture-by-Picture mode.
I'm particularly drawn to the idea of being able to set custom window sizes with PIP on the G93SC, especially for creating a 21:9 window for games where there's significant stretching at the edges in 32:9 (as you often pointed out in your videos). It seems like this feature is exclusive to the slightly cheaper G93SC model compared to the G95SC. Is that accurate? Wouldn't owning the smart version be a downgrade in this case? Or am I wrong?
I'm curious if it's possible to create a 21:9 window using PIP with the G93SC. If so, does it affect frame rate or disable HDR in any way? Can you utilize this feature with full 240Hz and HDR? Additionally, are there any important smart TV features that I might be overlooking?
Both TVs are similarly priced in my country (with a $50 price difference). Given this, which one would you recommend?
Looking forward to your insights! 😊 And thanks for reading this wall of text! 😅
The G93SC is better value. The G95SC can allegedly have the brightness doubled via a service menu hack. (Officially I don’t recommend service mods).
@@thedisplayguy Thanks for the super quick answer; it’s appreciated ☺️. I‘m going to join your Patreon for the perfect settings and to say thank you.
So, can you confirm the G95SC has no Picture-in-Picture mode? Just Picture-by-Picture? I don’t mind purchasing the more expensive version, but if the above is true, I will follow your advice and buy the G93SC instead.
Got the 2023 G9 OLED and its a best monitor Ive ever used.
How can I be rich like you?
@@Wickery. I mean. I got it on Black Friday deal and I have a job.
Getting mine delivered on Wednesday can’t wait!
The cable your recommending has hdmi on both ends right? On this G9 OLED it has a mini hdmi 2.1 port will that cable work you linked?
What graphics card would need to actually use this? I have a 4070 right now, using a G7 but looking to upgrade both within the next year.
I just ordered it 10 min ago, and will pair it with my 4090 rog strix OC! cant wait to switch from 32 inch to 49
Bought this monitor recently, does any know if game motion plus is supported? Or anything comparable to it?
hello i just subscribed and i would need the seeting for this screen could yyou please explain where i can find it on patreon ?
Is it possible to have 2 screens from different sources next to each other at the same time? I want to use this mainly as a 2 monitor setup for my Mac and Ps5
Yes, you can do that easily with this monitor. Each half part of screen can have a different video source.
man i just want a 4k 240hz for under 800 what the heck bro
Any news on the HP OMEN transcend 32?
Does anyone know the difference between Off timer and Eco Timer? For me Off timer displays the message that the monitor is turning off after the configured period has passed and I can disable the power off and the Eco timer doesn't seem to do anything. Using firmware 1004.
$999 at Amazon right now. Very tempting.
Same deal ends tonight too
Reduced again
love mine
what kind of monitors do you expect to see later this year?
How to enable display stream compression? I have display port 1.4 & hdmi 2.1, but can't get 240hz
I have this exact same problem, can’t get 240hz
@@badape3106 now i do, it's amazing, unfortunately i had to get Nvidia rtx 4060 card & now it works. Technically i returned my previous desktop i purchased & replaced it with a desktop with an rtx 4060 graphics card.
@@badape3106 I have it running now at 240hz had to update graphics card to rtx 4060
Damn! This monitor is so wide! It's to wide for my desk since I have my PC on my desk and I don't want it anywhere else. But damn this is nice.
£450 on eBay used, no issues, in the UK, what a steal!
but on the samsung website it says G93SC is OLED and G95SC is QD-OLED
Cannot return to 16:9 for gameplay.
I have this exact monitor. I can’t get 240hz to work or to enable
The "G93SC" seems to be of such high quality, but when I look at the USB-C ports from Samsung, I have to say it sucks, that means USB-C cables don't hold up and sometimes fall off again!
What’s the difference of between the g95sc and g93sc?
Smart features
My Asus PG32UDCM order just went through should be here by 3/25 I’m happy
Must be nice being able to get good monitors for cheap. Over here this costs 1500-1600$.
Do you buy these monitors to review and then send them back?
Basically what all TH-camrs do unless they want to keep it
@@elchancho8432 I need to start doing this lol
thats crazy
Is there an 8k2k version?
Yes...but its Mini LED
I play games in the dark. Is this a great choice then?
yes
That's the best case scenario for this monitor
I have a predecessor of this with an LCD panel and playing at 32:9 in the dark is the most immersive experience you can get without literally strapping the monitor to your face (aka VR)!
Anyone here using this for MSFS? Input?
If you could get this for $850, would you do it?
As a G9 first gen (LCD) owner, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it at that price!
32:9 is absolutely AMAZING for games that support it and it's still a great monitor for games that just run in 16:9, plus the ability to use picture by picture and play in 21:9 with some other program open on the side or to have two 16:9 monitors in one seamless case is extremely useful to! (Just make sure this model does also support PBP if you're interested in that)
wait.. a few months ago you said ultrawide sucks and 32:9 is even more niche than 21:9
Support is absolutely terrible, but people want what they want 🤷
if more people want it, support should get better over time usually
This guy is gonna make a video about this monitor next saying not to buy it/he regrets it or its horrible don't buy it
Did he do this thing other times?
@@lucamarzola5875 he does it all the time it’s insane
Yes he does it with every video dudes a click bait wannabe because he has nothing original to say.
Didn't you have a video on this exact monitor titled "Don't buy this"?
OLED has ruined me. IPS is dead to me now.
Half the games I play don’t support 32:9 so freaking useless for me
Of course... as we all know, it cannot show any other aspect ratios 😉
@@InnocentiusLacrimosa😂
Okay so what you even doing here? Such a pointless comment.
@@absolutexk you mean such a pointless monitor
Could you maybe let me rent the monitor? I promise to give it back. 👉👈
Nah, I hate 49 inch and with OLED seeing as so much content is 16:9 you just run the risk of burning anything else in to the damn thing. 34 inch or even 38 inch is the sweet spot of UW gaming ( or at least 21:9 ) Oh and most games have horrendous SUW support to a point everything looks really warped. Its there on 21:9 but a lot less.
Thats what mods are for.
@@5ean5ean22 am not on about 16:9 gaming, a lot of games nowadays get 21:9 and 32:9 support ( although cutscenes are still mostly 16:9 and mods help there ). I am on about how webpages are set up and youtube. You will literally not be able to watch youtube on this thing unless you want burn in very quickly. Gaming is still all fish eyed though for almost any game that does support it, very little games have great SUW support as its a niche.
Good review, under par product.
Not gonna buy this model.
Upcoming (with DisplayPort 2.1a) models are much better.
Patience leads to salvation.
I have this monitor the ppi is so lacking & is not high enough resolution, my 4k hp spectre laptop amoled is sharper & easier on the eyes, ppi 220, you can see finer detail, with samsung g9 you can't ppi is only 110, i do have some buyers remorse.
lol welcome to monitors, they’re much larger than laptops. It’s 1440 so it’s the exact same as a 1440 27”. You’ll never get anywhere near 220 on a monitor. Best you’ll get is 163 on a 27” in 4k. All of this is mitigated by viewing distance tho.
Btw your problem isn’t the resolution, it’s the pixel layout on QD-OLED. They’re not good for text.
Wtf you need higher ppi for, lmao!
How close do you sit to your 27" x2 monitor? Cause the farther away you sit, the less ppi matters.
1440p is the best resolution for PC right now, anything higher only wastes performance and causes skaling issues on basically all OSes
@@LRM12o8 are you crazy, you don't care about beautiful graphic looking text, anybody that types needs high ppi over 200 so the text look beautiful & pristine, is necessary.
@@LRM12o8 you’re talking about a completely different thing. Viewing distance only affects seeing individual pixels. It doesn’t magically make a 109ppi monitor have the clarity/detail/sharpness of a 163ppi monitor.
I do agree that 2k is perfect for gaming tho. 4k much better for work/reading text. Scaling on 4k isn’t an issue anymore for the vast majority of users btw.
@@LRM12o8 i had a friend looked at the text, i said does it look blurry, they said yes. The text looks like garbage. It literally strains the eyes, it's actually a liability. Qd oled is an incomplete technology, it's not at its peak.
"most games don't support the format, HDR brightness is terrible and worst glossy screen but....buy this now" 😑 I hate clickbait, it's so trashy
Mine is amazing you just throwing out buzzwords and don't know your anal cavity from a hole in the ground. You speak like someone who has never used oled. Cause if you had you would never want another type of display. And secondly there are a lot of games now with support for 32:9. 1515 games listed in the reddit thread and about 60% of those are listed as native 32:9 support
I am never buying these gimmicky ultra wide monitors but thank you tho
Never understood the appeal of these stupid overly wide things.
Its quite simple...you see more horizontal space over 16:9 and 21:9 at the same vertical pixel count.
it's 2 monitors in one what's so hard to understand
Have you tried using both of your brain cells?
That's a neck breaker.
ultrawide monitors are mid
