I have watched hundreds of tours from over a dozen presenters and this gentleman is on the top of the heap for a no nonsense straight forward tour. The yacht is amazing a checks every box for me.
I love the smaller Cats. A few solar panels over the flybridge and engine mounted generators while underway works for me. Great simple presentation, thank you.
Depends on the owner's preference really. In this size range, you may see some owners also being the operator, while some still prefer to have a crew onboard.
Is it a steel hull or fiberglass? I am actually in the market right now and am leaning at the Bering 65, same fuel burn at 107 metric tons with a 5000 plus NM range. Safety in the open ocean is key and a steel hull is key. If this is a fiberglass hull its off my list...granted its almost 1 million cheaper then the Bering 65 and much lighter, which leads me to believe its fiberglass. Although I do see larger yachts now moving to Diesel Electric, but not many which free's up the engine room, but that is beyond my price range and do not want something that large. I'll be doing a new build and if its possible for diesel electric it will be something I'll be looking at. Looked also at Diesel Ducks...also steel hulls. I think when it comes to long range trawlers fiberglass is on its way out. Also looked at the FPB 64, but unfortunately they are not making them currently or I would have commissioned a build for that. Only needs one engine with incredible range. But if they aren't making them its currently its a pointless discussion. FPB was my first choice, same price range with aluminum hull. Nice video, just wrong hull.
Just lovely! Was wondering since the master is at the foot of the stairs then how do you get to the guest without going thru the master? Perhaps I missed something, just curious. Thank you!
Cindy Reid Hi Cindy, when you get to the bottom of the curved stairs down from the pilothouse, the master cabin is to your left and aft, and the VIP is to your right, and forward. Sorry for any confusion. CO

Why is it that you rarely see trawlers with any solar? You would think that with these big trawlers being great as liveaboards, it would be great to have solar so you could stay on anchorage off the grid without having to constantly use fuel.
At this point, the reality is that solar panels are not able to harness the necessary amount of energy needed to power an entire vessel. However, we are beginning to see numerous builders taking this initiative

Good question... her hull is built of fiberglass. Theres are pros and cons to both and you bring up a few valid points.
