No matter how many times I watch this race I always get shivers running down my spine. Both were going at it wildly that day, wasn't really a race more like a fight for professional pride.
Threw lot of shit on MM after he won in PI in the last lap by cutting Lorenzo's almost 0.8 sec. advantage. Marc had tyre issues throughout the weekend and in the race dealt the way he did which he should. But VR accused him of intentionally doing that to stop VR and help JL! (WHICH HE DIDN'T cz he took the win from Lorenzo) Iannone did more damage in last lap when he fought aggressively to take 3rd from VL, but no issues with him???
Wasn't all that outrageous of him throwing shit on MM with BS accusations???
Sepang was the after effect of PI, which happened the way it did.
Put VR in MM's place and replace VR's place with Gibernau,...and suddenly everything is fair cz the doctor was giving his medicine there. But when he got the taste of his own shit, seems like downpour of blames and accusations begin...n them fans be sitting on their moral horses which certainly didn't exist all those years..

Same here. I really liked Marquez before this race. He let Lorenzo pass him and then he held Rossi up and was fighting like if he was in the title fight. I lost all my respect to Marquez after this race.

The tech in the machine is sort of at a stand still at the moment. So it's good to watch the riders racing each other then the machines racing each other. It's been a while since we could enjoy races like this.
Even the innovation of aero package in MotoGP bikes also came to a standstill as it isnt innovative enough for some reason.

For those who don't remember (or better said don't want to remember), please rewatch the Japan 2010 race, when Lorenzo was fighting for the championship and Vale touched him 3 times almost sending him to the gravel. They were teammates, Vale was out of the Championship, but Rossi just said "This is racing"...
What race were you watching? The one where Lorenzo was pushing it so hard that he was unstable on the turn outs? Rossi was following the race line and Lorenzo was either pushing it wide or coming hot to cut off Rossi. He must have been taking lessons from MM93 that year.

I've done a personal research to understand better who's the greatest of all time.
I gave specific points for every championship standings, like:
28 points championship winner
21 points runner-up
16 points 3rd and so on, until
1 point for 10th position, the last I took in consideration for every championship.
This was my final ranking and what I consider the GOAT list (as of the end of 2022 season):
1. Rossi 387 points
2. Agostini 285 points
3. Doohan 212 points
4. Lorenzo 198
5. Marquez 189
6. Duke 183
7. Hailwood 182
8. Lawson 175
9. Pedrosa 175
10. Rainey 142
Nowadays motogp is so competitive as many riders can win the race either with factory or satelite bike but back then motogp was somehow so much dramatic despite only 4 riders (rossi, marquez, lorenzo, pedrosa) and 2 factory teams (honda and yamaha) battling in the front row

Rossi have changed a lot from what he was back in 2015. He is a strong and cleaner competitor after 2015. 2016 races started of healthy and competitive with Rossi having a revived goal set on the championship. I like all racers as they make up the race. Each individual rides differently deciding the outcome of the race. If we want a particular person to win always, must well he alone participate to win all. But, that is not what we want. we want a fight, healthy fight, riders challenging. That gives life to the race and excitement to us. I'm not a Rossi fan, but i would like him to be there as he is a legend, a model for all the young riders. His wins and loses are a great example to riders to know wining is not all there is to the race. Mistakes can be forgiven, as mistakes makes a person realize and correct themselves without losing one's confidence.

@@arieltryka6882 The real battle was Rossi and Lorenzo but for no apparent reason, Marquez just went in to fight Rossi agressively. Remember Marquez was out of the Championship even if he were to win the last two races he wouldn't be World Champion, so what he did was just *completely unnecessary* and especially ruining someone's chance at the title
