There had been an episode where Marquez tried to shake hands with Rossi, to make peace, but he refused.
Since after 2015 , their relationship has degenerated and has been based on indifference...

Pedrosa isn't Rossi's rival. He is Lorenzo's rival. Pedrosa is the real 2012 World Champion.
His two big chances for a title were 2012 and 2013, unlucky guy.
The most interesting thing to note in these rivalry videos is that rossi has been able to hold his own against a myriad of top class riders...just look at the names he has competed with and won...damn ..that man is a true icon.

Then he tried to bully Marquez and has been bullied by Marquez instead, don’t air your paranoid views to the world (accusing Marquez of trying to help Lorenzo win the championship). Marquez response? If you think I’m doing that then I will, and he did, and Rossi lost that exchange, the Championship and his mind. Marquez 6, Rossi 0.
A key difference between Rossi and Marquez is Rossi is tough but clean and fair with his moves while Marquez doesn’t have the respect for his fellow rider and bashes them about like a bully. Both are great, but I fear Marquez will cause a disaster for someone else one day riding selfishly as he does.

after assen 2015 everything changed. it was Marc who pushing Rossi out from race line but after that instead correcting, he doing dirty trying to tackle The Doctor from winning every single race untill his retirement. so sad their friendship never recovered until now
Vale knew exactly what was going to happen and what he was going to do when it did. I actually think he got a bigger kick out of out playing Marc than a straight on track race to the finish.

Rossi's book : "what if i had never tried it" .. if he had never tried it (i.e. never moved from Honda to Yamaha) then he would be an undefeatable rider (more than marc 2013-2019, BUT minus BULL-RUSH, a signature technique by marc (mar-quest is over). and motogp wouldn't be that interesting, because Rossi's dominance with Honda would be boring.
thank to the doctor's iconic movement, and the doctor's iconic "medicine" (for Yamaha, which at the time was underdog, suffer "illness"), motogp become super interesting.
I used to hate rossi but after I saw him disrespected by Honda, move to Yamaha, proved rider is more important than bike (yes, proved, that's why marc is really respected by Honda, thank to the doctor's indirectly, bitter-teaching) and won title with Yamaha in 2004-2005, won title again 2008-2009 after sinking in 2006-2007, never gave up, fought again and again, the peak was 2015, I saw, I witnessed how a great rider with his talent playing around like a moving obstacle, after he got no chance to get world title, to disturb the one who fought with all his might (for the last time).
such a great rider that could determine the result of the championship, at the same time, such a shame to disturb other who struggled for his last time (because no one can fight time, age).

Disitulah hebatnya Rossi dan ga bisa dibandingin dengan mm. Kalo Rossi ga pindah mungkin bisa sampe belasan kali jurdun, tapi yg beliau inginkan justru menaikkan popularitas motogp itu sendiri. Padahal yamaha saat itu kira² kayak suzuki tahun 2019, berat untuk bersaing.
Makanya banyak fans rossi menantang mm untuk pindah tim, karena mau 20x pun jurdun di satu pabrikan tetap ga lebih hebat dari Rossi (paling ga itu menurut fans Rossi). Dalam hal ini bahkan stoner bisa dianggap lebih hebat dari mm (kalo mau dibanding²in sih), bahkan stoner mampu jurdun di pabrikan yang seumur² belum pernah jurdun motogp (special banget ni orang).
Kalo ane pikir² sih, mm mampu jurdun di pabrikan lain, kayak Ducati, ane yakin mm mampu. Tapi kayaknya dia lebih milih jalur "siapa banyak²an jurdun", ya ga salah juga sih. Tapi bagi fans MotoGP, it would be boring era, again. Kayak era² sebelumnya sebelum ada Rossi, ada satu pembalap dominan dan nonton terasa membosankan.

I so hope we see MM back to pre-injury fitness. Will be great to see him take on those crazy good Ducatis next year. Been watching MotoGP from the age of 5 ...from Rainey n Gardner...to Doohan n Schwantz n Roberts ...Then came a Boy Wonder from Tavulia Valentino Rossi with whom i was addicted to till i saw a lanky lad from Australia named Casey Stoner ...and ofcourse Mr Perfect Jorge Lorenzo ...but trust me folks what "stunned" me was a Moto2 race in Valencia 2012 ...A baby faced PHENOM was born ...i knew he is a MotoGP King right from 2013.....the way he demolished everyone in 2014 n destructed himself in 2015 then a fantastic resurrection in 2016...2017 n 2018 before he reproduced 2014 again in 2019....alas he was back to burning himself in 2020...but in Jerez 2020 race that he violently crashed ...everyone knew who the BOSS was ...Injury laden 2021 ...no doubt but do not forget the SACHSENKING and COTA MASTER....brought tears in my eyes in the way he fought with Pecco Bagnaia in Aragon and then applied the famous Marquez Pressure on Pecco to take victory in San Marino (famously called the enemy territory by MM fans)...Ladies n Gentlemen ...i have been following this Sport for 40 Long Years and i have not seen one like MARC MARQUEZ ...proud to say #iam93 !!!

Marquez and Rossi never had a rivalry. Marquez won all seasons with exception to 2015. Rivals alternate on winning but Rossi never won anything against Marquez. Mostly he just watch Marquez win. They raced together but Rossi was not Marc's rival. He just can't claim to be.

In the world of motorsports, hundreds of riders will come and go.
Many don't get to the top, not because they are any different than the others
but because there was a few among them who had that little bit extra,

But in the generations to come, there will be a name that won't be locked away
silent in the vault of the hall of fame, but a name that will buzz around the
paddock for many years to come, will drift within the fastest of corners,
roar in the cheers of millions all over the world and ultimately fly high in a
never fading cloud of yellow smoke and when that kid asks what it is,
I'm sure his father will say that he is the greatest motorcycle rider ever to
grace this earth, His personality infected all those who followed him,

MM missing the last 2 seasons after breaking his arm was the best thing to happen to MotoGP in years, NO "real" motogp fan can say the last 2 years have been EPIC and NOW the chance that MM passing Rossi in the record books is never going to happen, he has to win another 34 gp races and win another 2 world titles to overtake Rossi's record, maybe he could of done it if not for breaking his arm, after all that success to fail at the last step because of a broken arm must haunt him
