It was only in that scene that he knew he was essentially working alongside his future self.
I love the fact that after all this time, even tho Barry is a complete different person, more mature and wise, he still looks at Thawne with pure hate and disgust.
There's another part to this that most people don't take into consideration. Despite Barry's overwhelming hatred for Thawne, and the simple thought of being in the same room with him is enough to set his teeth on edge, Barry knows that Thawne is the ONLY person with enough knowledge and experience with time travel, Barry's enemies, and the nature of the Speed Force, that it becomes almost necessary for Barry to rely on him as a mentor and teacher.
Previous timeline Upon meeting Nora in 2015, Eobard realized that she was Barry's daughter and asked if her name was Dawn. When Nora corrected him, Thawne realized that his actions in the year 2000 had changed the timeline and inspired the West-Allen couple to name their daughter after Barry's late mother.
They really did Thawne justice in this series. Reverse-Flash is by far the Flash’s most formidable enemy. But what makes him scarier than the others is how brilliant he is. The gravity of their relationship was played out so well in this scene just by the facial expressions of both Barry and Norah. Norah knows who Thawne is mostly by what she’s read and you see the sheer fear when she’s face to face with this version of him, which is much different from the older Thawne in her time period. While Barry’s expression is just pure hatred, anger and disgust at the guy who killed his mother, betrayed him and has pledged his life to making his a living hell. Barry’s disgust is knowing that he unwittingly allowed his mother’s killer to befriend him and train him. All for selfish reasons.
What elevates it further is how we saw season 2 Barry's demeanor play out versus his season 5. Granted (pun intended) he was in a more desperate position in season 2 compared to 5; however that hatred is still there with a higher of confidence and honesty. He doesn't lie to Thawne, he doesn't appeal to him, and his ego. He matches his energy completely.

Yup. In the original timeline, Barry's mom was alive at the time his daughter was born, and he and Iris just pick a random name. In this timeline, his mother is long dead and Barry decides to name his child after his late mother. That's why Thawne says "Boy! Nora... time travel is so weird."
This will forever be in my top 3 favorite (Thawne in general)/ Reverse Flash moment both Tom and Matt who play Thawne play his intimidation very differently but I actually like that bc not every version of Barry from whenever in the timeline has to think or act the exact same bc it’s different periods in his life time
I like the detail that Nora is afraid of Thawne's angry ourbursts but they dont faze (or phase 😉) Barry. Barry is used to Thawne at this point and isnt afraid of him, while Nora has probably never had to face off agaisnt someone so evil and villanous, or at least that she knows Thawne to be from Barry's point of view, as she doesnt know what Thawne had done to Barry's life until after this
Jessica Parker Kennedy's acting in this scene is so layered, playing Nora, in her words, as seemingly completely oblivious to who Thawne is, while her eyes betray her recognition. There's also her unease projected watching his and Barry's hostile interactions. Having been so used to seeing him in the future as, if not good, at least benevolent and helpful to her, seeing this evil side of Thawne, what made him the Flash's archenemy, for the first time, is so jarring for Nora.
@@Cosmicmorales brought it back full circle the last 3 last seasons were trash but had their moments but I’m super thrilled they brought it back full circle 9x10
Fun Fact: Thawne said that Barry's daughter is named Dawn but her name is Nora however in the comics XS' name is Jenni who is actually Barry's grandaughter along with his grandson, Bart and Barry's daughter is named Dawn along with his son, Don and Don and Dawn are the Tornado Twins
Thawne comes from the timeline in which Harrison Wells creates the flash in 2024. So when he decided to go back and kill Nora Allen i think that was always meant to happen in every timeline, but what wasnt supposed to happen is that Thawne loses his speed at the begining making him create the flash in 2014-15. When he did that he changed everything because barry was still supposed to be awake making him be avle to be with iris in the 9 month coma whicj was originally meant to happen which says that og barry married Iris much later than Barry and he would become the flash in 2024 so he qould start his adventures with Cisco and Harrison Wells-1 at that point. Which explains why a much more older self than barry is there but with the og suit from season 2. Point being, Thawne changed the timeline but he remains immune to the changes meaning he can be unaware of them to a meaningful extent. This change in the timeline is what made him aware so he got informed when he saved himself after the ending of S1. Which started the cicada plan to destroy the dagger using Nora. All he had to do was make sure Barry dissapeared, be in prision at the same time nora got her powers so he could mentor her. Thawne is truly a genious. I still dont understand how he survived, i understand flashpoint thawne fought the legends and was killed by black flash meanwhile season 2 thawne is the one that comes to fight barry at his house and get trapped in the past
2020* On the flashback where Thawne made the car accident of Harrison Wells and his wife, he told him while preparing the device that will change his appearance to Wells' that he turned the Particle Accelerator successfully in 2020, no further word if that still created metahumans or not.
Gideon said "Your latest time jump against the flash" it means he time traveled a lot already. His another jump was in S2E11 when he said "I finally figured out what time period you're from, Flash" that was Thawne from the future maybe trying to discover who the flash actually is before he killed his mother. He may have other journeys too.
I am pretty shure that you are wrong. The only reason why thawne lost his speed is, that barry doesnt become the flash because thawne killed his mother. So after that he takes over wells body to create the flash to get back his speed and to get back home in his orignal timeline and he does it much faster. so barry gets to be the flash earlier just because thawne wants to get home. so the flash we know is not the original timeline flash. In the original timeline Wells1 creates the flash in the year 2020 and ca 130 years later thawne works at the flash museum after the flash is long dead and tries to become the flash but. Thorugh time travel he gets to know, that he is destined to become the flashes arch enemy the reverse flash. Sorry for bad english There is also a video from the channel DC Comics arrorverse that explains the timeline of the reverseflash with the name "reverseflash timeline explained" and he does it up to season 8. So if you didnt get what I mean you can look up this video.
Dude, all 3 of the actors in this scene are fucking fantastic. Barry looks furious talking to Thawne Thawne is both furious and a little delighted because he knows that he has the opportunity to fuck Barry's life just a little more Both of them seem like old, bitter enemies who know eachother better than they've ever known another human being. And then there's Nora, looking absolutely terrified because she's meeting the person who was no doubt her childhood bogey man face to face.
Except its revealed later that nora already met Thawne and that the Future Thawne was the only reason she even learned how to time travel, because he taught her to so that she could see her dad, he manipulated her so he could escape.
TO be fair, I believe it's a valid point in saying that although Thawne hates the shit out of Barry, Thawne himself in the show says that he grew to love Barry while teaching him. So, it's not a stretch to say that they are frenemies at this point.
I would like to add, its also Nora seeing the hatred in barry, up until this point has been the hero, the ray of sunshine. And this shows the dark side no one talks about.
Even when Barry thinks he has the upper hand, Thawne is playing him for fools. Purposely arguing with Barry about who the device is for, knowing Nora would say, since she said her name with no fear. Knowing it was for Cicada then gave Thawne the ammunition to manipulate the timeline to free himself in the future, even if he didn't know he was going to be imprisoned.
it's funny how you can see him displaying his full hate towards Barry, but none what so ever towards Nora. "I'm sorry where are my manors, would you like a cup of water." addressing Nora while seemingly ignoring Barry lmao.
Could you imagine if Caitlin or cisco walking by and just hear thawne and Barry yelling inside and sees thawne Nora Barry 1 and 2 in the room how confused would they be lol

Love the banter haha none of your business!
Eobard Thawne is like Hannibal Lecter. He is a bad guy but sometimes he is the man who can solve the problem. It's cool.😎
Just loved how Eobard was being blackmailed by 2 Barrys in one day.
This Scene….IS INCREDIBLE!!! The Tension, The Past with these 2 and the ACTING!!! GOD I….”Loved” this Show!! What Happened?!?! 😢😢
I just noticed something. He called Nora, Dawn. That means, that was going to be her name before he messed with the timeline.
Yup. In the original timeline, Barry's mom was alive at the time his daughter was born, and he and Iris just pick a random name. In this timeline, his mother is long dead and Barry decides to name his child after his late mother. That's why Thawne says "Boy! Nora... time travel is so weird."
@@swedishshortsnout5610dcau , dcamu flash: i disagree, thawne may not kill my mom but she is still dead
This will forever be in my top 3 favorite (Thawne in general)/ Reverse Flash moment both Tom and Matt who play Thawne play his intimidation very differently but I actually like that bc not every version of Barry from whenever in the timeline has to think or act the exact same bc it’s different periods in his life time
One of the best episodes! "Which Barry Allen "🔥
Reminds me of when multiple Stewies and Brians had to go back in time to stop the previous Stewies and Brians from messing up the timelines. 😂😂😂
I love that Barry is the one with the upper hand here.
00:46 Thawne's most menacing ever line.
"at least you still have one"
BRUH
i love thawnes little temper tantrums when he can't get what he wants. lol.
2:47 🗿”especially your own right Barry Allen?”
‘You couldn’t live with your own failure??and where did it bring you??Back to me’
Would have been a perfect line in this scene.

Thanos😊
That’s Thanos lmao 🤣 but would be cool
this aged like fine wine, check out 9x10
My guess is that Eobard has time traveled so much there are various "instances" of him in existence, each one at a different point in time.
2020*
On the flashback where Thawne made the car accident of Harrison Wells and his wife, he told him while preparing the device that will change his appearance to Wells' that he turned the Particle Accelerator successfully in 2020, no further word if that still created metahumans or not.
Sorry for bad english
There is also a video from the channel DC Comics arrorverse that explains the timeline of the reverseflash with the name "reverseflash timeline explained" and he does it up to season 8. So if you didnt get what I mean you can look up this video.
I hoped that this scene could be expanded, but I guess it wont...
For what is worth, I love him playing Eobard
Dude, all 3 of the actors in this scene are fucking fantastic.
Barry looks furious talking to Thawne
Thawne is both furious and a little delighted because he knows that he has the opportunity to fuck Barry's life just a little more
Both of them seem like old, bitter enemies who know eachother better than they've ever known another human being.
And this shows the dark side no one talks about.
bro knew danica williams. nah bro, he's way too informed holy crap
Reverse flash is hands down the best thing that happened to this series
When flash was in its prime
hate that the only resolution here is for Barry to lie his ass off, doesn't help that Thawne is 1000x more charismatic
thawne: *kicks past barry*
future barry: 😠
*The Flash 16x09*
25 Barry Allen's in that room.
The thumbnail is perfect! 🤣🤣🤣
“Nora.. that's nice, at least you still have one” 💀💀
Scary and sinical Thawne he said without remorse "you brought me your daughter" like if he was going to kill her in that exact moment
0:12 reminds me of the line Doctor Strange said in the first Multiverse of Madness trailer
Thawne acting was just soo amazing dude seriously and the way he use to teach barry was sooo amazing to watch we want season 10
Flash Season 5. 8 Episode
100 „Jubilee episode really well done against Cicada
2:47 the sarcastic laugh tho 💀
After 15 years bro till believe he going home
Nice preview image
Weird how s2 barry and s5 barry both needed thawne help
And then later on.."You still don't go home".
The way he just kicks past (ish) barry lol
"Atleast you still have one".I know it is bad but i laughed on how delievered that line lolll
barrys smug face while telling him he wont go home is a CLASSIC
He kicks his leg 😂😂😂
Anyone else notice that thawne here has different hair than this scene in s2
One day, I really hope that Barry finally thinks before he acts
My patience is waning is this entertaining
My patience is waning IS THIS ENTERTAINING?!
0:04 I e I e ah
I don't know why but I always kind of want Thawne to win. I enjoy watching him take Barry down a peg.
it's funny how you can see him displaying his full hate towards Barry, but none what so ever towards Nora.
Thawne kicking unconscious Barry was just perfect, he's so petty i love it 😭😂
2:13 😂him kicking Harry is so unbelievably petty and RF I love it
One thing I always loved about this scene is that they didn’t even try to make Tom cavanaugh look the same 😂. Go back to the original season 2 episode and see what I’m talking about
me gusta el golpe q le da al barry del piso, tipo "porqueria q no sirves pa na" xdddd
When he says I go go home I go home I get everything you can see Barry’s pure enjoyment to him being ma
thawne realizing barry named his daughter after his dead mom is amazing lmao
dawn?.. now we know this Thawne is from comically accurate universe/Timeline.
Is it me or did grant get bigger 😂
Thawne kicking the other barry is peak pettiness 😂
