You're gaining a lot more than a skid plate and a terrain mode. Heated seats, larger screen, and other things different wheels. You're really hung up on that push button start. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. It was informative.
Your right you do gain more with the lariat package. But it's stuff many of us don't want. I'm glad they have the lariat for those that do. But give is push button start and touch handle lock and unlock in the xlt. Or make a in-between trim. Yes that stuff is mandatory for me. For my convenience and for the safety of my wife. In 2024 there should not be a vehicle where a person has to dig out a key to get in and start thier vehicle in my opinion. As someone that taught knife and firearm defense for a while I know the value of both those features and won't buy a vehicle with out it.
@@Jason-Samko It’s interesting, what options are super important to different people. I own a lobster company and make light deliveries but never plan to take a truck offload. It’s mostly small deliveries and commuting. Things I want are heated seats, and a nice sized infotainment panel. I don’t do any rock climbing, lol. Cheers brother looking forward to the next video
@@JoeyCGMG you nailed it. So many people want so many different things! Would be nice if ford listened and kicked in a in between trim level. The gap between the xlt and lariat is too big. But i guess thats why ford never called me to run thier marketing department 🤣🤣

Lariat also get better stereo and power sliding rear window, heated steering wheel, dual zone climate, 12" display standard not option like XLT, rain sensing wipers, 360 camera standard and zone lighting. And yes grab outside door handle and it unlocks. 3 position memory seats but that might also be on the XLT.
Of all that the only thing I want is the touch handle lock and unlock. None of that other stuff interest me personally. I'd much rather have a xlt with a push button start and touch door handle locks
You wore me out on the push button start. 10 times stating that the XL & XLT did not have it would have been enough.

I think your wrong about XLT trim not getting LED headlights. XL don’t get LED headlights. XLT do.
I do agree with starter , you’d think you would get push button start on XLT trim. But not a game changer for me. But is strange.
I Could be wrong for 2024. I know the past xlts were not led on ford trucks. Unless bought as an option. Looks like it will be 3 or 4 months before we see any 2024s at dealers to see for sure due to the strike and parts shortages.

Yep a tremor package would be awesome! As long as it comes with front lockers. No reason not to get front lockers in today's times.
I'm not sure if I like the portrait style infotainment screen. i think this might look even better with the horizontal screen. Push button on all models as well.
They changed it to push button start on xlt in 2024? Where did you see that? (I will look it up for myself if you just say where you heard it so I can go find that). According to everything I seen including models already in production xlt had a key still
@SamkoWorkShop I think it's just on the lariat model that comes with a push button start for the 2024 models. But do feel all models should get the push button start.
@morningdrums thats what I saw as well and how ford has always done it. Xlt gets a key. I wish they would of solved that by now for safety reasons. Nobody should be fumbling with keys in parking lots anymore. Especially women.
So you have an issue with the lack of PB start? … the XLT is a better bargain IMO with the fx4 and sport package.
I refuse to buy a vehicle with out push button start today. We should not have to use a key in 2023! But agree 100% I want the xlt not the lariat. But won't be buying either as the xlt no push button start and the lariat is crazy stupid expensive foe so little upgrade.
PB start doesn't make much difference to me but each to their own . . . I was able to get an order in for the Ranger Raptor - which will be a nice addition to my WT Bronco a couple years from now when it shows up - BUT have toyed with the idea of the XLT / Tech / FX4 because I feel like (without a doubt) it'll show up a lot sooner and then trade it later on down the road.
@toddgregory897 I thought about ordering a raptor ranger right now to expecting it to show up in 18 months or 2 years. But I'm hoping in 12 months they come out with a tremor and it includes front lockers. If so that would do everything I want and cost much less and probably be here sooner than ordering a raptor now. And the Colorado zr2 I like better and in 2025 it should have all bugs worked out and be exactly what I want for much less too.

The xl and xlt come with led headlights. They’re just not “performance led projectors”. Xlt comes with full led lighting. Also who cares about the push button. You still get the same features of a key fob but the only difference is that you have to pull it out of your pocket and turn your wrist instead of push a button. Whoopty doo. Xlt fully optioned with the fx4 and the upcoming 2.7 is going to be the best value truck in the midsize market and the highest potential base for aftermarket upgrades. A button is such a strange hill to fall on

I guess Ford's marketing people know something that we don't. This is a very competitive segment where there's a lot of choices. It seems like it would be easy to put together feature packages that increase the value and competitiveness, but instead they play weird games. Well... plenty of fish in the sea, and if they don't care, why should we?
Ford always plays these games and really wants people to get the lariat package. The xlt would work great for 95% of people if they just added push button start and a couple other little things. The gap and cost difference is huge. They failed here big time in my opinion.
Is the ranger exterior and interior size bigger than the new tacoma?
I do not believe so. I believe all 3 ranger, tacoma, and Colorado are so close you wouldn't notice

I hate to sound like a broken record, but no 6' bed is a foolish mistake by GM and Ford. Even the Ridgeline has a longer, wider bed. Good for Toyota & Nissan.
Agree. Really kills the mid size options for people that need a longer bed

If the 2025 has a tremor package and it includes electronic front lockers it might be my next truck depending on price and how it stacks up to the colorado zr2. But it would be a contender.

Yes! And in 2023 I should never have to take a key fob out of my pocket. And especially my wife should never have to. Even just from the self-defense safety aspect alone. Not to mention the inconvenience. A key fob in the pocket or purse should be all that's needed. Touch the handle to lock and unlock and push button start. I won't let my wife drive anything else and she wouldn't want to.
