Did BFG talk at all about wet pavement performance of the K03? I think this was the biggest weakness of the K02. I’ve owned both the K02 and the AT3 and ended up preferring the Falkens. Now with the AT4 and K03 being released I’m having trouble deciding between them. I don’t care a lot about tire reviews but a comparison of the top two or three ATs would be interesting. After all, you have to get to the trail before you can run it.
The honesty and candor is appreciated. Many of these company guys are too vague. Clearly one of the best tires in the world. And don’t forget what they have done with the BAJA T/A
I'd still love to see different off road AT/mud tire tests even if boring or impossible testing results due to so many variables. How about how much abuse could an all season handle and how much aggressive tread pattern do you really need? Even warn that this very well could be boring but you can decide for your self. I'd love to hear how a P rated tire vs XL vs E do with puncture resistance. I'm having a hard time deciding tires for my 2024 Nissan Frontier 4x4 now. I'm out in Arizona. So lots of street driving but I do come across hard pack 2 track with rocks, cactus, sand and even monsoon season storms. I don't care for the E range stiff ride though. Anyways, those are my quick 2 cent ideas. Thanks guys! 🙏
Love the explanation about the 3PMSF rating. Many feel that's all they need to look for. Common sense will tell you that an A/T tire will not perform on snowy roads as well as a dedicated snow tire like a Blizzak. Which is why they started using the ice grip testing to test how it brakes as well.
I’m retiring my Toyo OC3s for some K03s tomorrow. I’m hoping I love them just as much as my Toyos because at $1800 for a set of 5 I don’t want to have to replace them anytime soon 😂
This was a great show! I usually listen to TFL Chat in the car, but this one I watched on the TH-cams. Not sure if watching the video added much but it make it easier to not be distracted by every squirrel that went running by. And I really wanted to pay attention. Ths information gotten from that interview was very good. So glad you did it. A video at the facility and delving more into this tire world would be very interesting and enlightening.
I see KO2 tires on many trucks in Canada but I prefer the look and performance of the Toyo Open Country A/T II & A/T III tires. I thought it was interesting and amusing that the tire compounds in Toyo winter tires have Microbit Technology with crushed walnut shells embedded in the tire tread compound to dig and bite into the ice surface for improved traction.
The funny thing about that they actually licensed that technology from treadwright tires. They've been using it on their retreaded tires for about a decade or so now.
Love the bfg interview!! I was very happy with my ko2 at tires. The only downside was the weight of the tire, but the weight is why its so robust. I don't care if the tread pattern has an old looking design as long as it works. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The good thing about the 3 peak test is it is a definitive empirical test. Should test stopping distance and lateral g on a std shear ice track and a std snow track.
A good studded tire will always beat a non studded one (a good one) on pure ice. However, on certain types of snow a non studded tire can beat a studded one. I have never owned a soft tire (motorcycle on/off-road + pick-ups) that lasted longer then a harder one.
Kuhmo AT52 tires have become my go to AT tire. They are highway efficient and off-road good. If your looking for the best all around AT tire I can't recommend them enough.
I understand the concern about discussing vehicles too expensive. I think this opens an opportunity to expose the proof that some brands are based on it's name vs function. Solution? Comparison side by side road challenge and vs it's price then rate them. Is a Lamborghini SUV better than the Chevy Trax? What makes it better? Does it justify it's price. Etc. As for tires, I thought the compound composition was about how it hold in temperature and doesn't crack, deteriorate in severe temperatures.
Wow didnt talk about correcting the wet weather slipperiness of the KO2.. I hope they addressed this in the new compound. I'll be watching the forums and tests as this "may" be my next set.
Just bought K03 E load rating just to confuse us more! On my Tundra 2021 v8 off road oem size 275 65 18 Aluminum wheels! Sticker on door says 30 front 33 rear! Oem tires ran at 33 front 36 rear! 58,000 miles discount tire place put 39 psi front 37 rear? More confused than ever every truck is so different help! Might be the most watched segment ever! Thanks 🙏 doing chalk test at a parking lot
I think choosing between all these top-tier tires is up to personal choice. Just like he said, the testing has too many variables that change the outcome. Real world use or reviewing will be the same. Change it from a Ford to a GM and the winner changes. No one can prove theirs is the best, just that it's better than most. It's like choosing between Ford, Chevy, Ram, etc.
The fact they didn't come out with a 35x12.5R17 on the first or second release of sizes made me totally ignore them. They missed the mark on the sizes they chose to launch. Definitely the worst tire launch in my lifetime (33)
Are they gong to make KO3’s that are actually rated to go on a 5th gen 4Runner? KO2’s are not technically rated for them . Costco won’t even install them because of the weight rating.
LOL..the only ones who define "woke" and care about "woke" are the idiots who don't get off the porch. It's a lame excuse for anything they don't like and what they don't like is change. Any change, good or bad.

Replaced the OME Nitto's on my 4Runner with Falken Wildpeak AT3W 255/80R17 and absolutely love them.

Enjoyed Brandon’s honesty and integrity

One of the best tire I ever used in the cross climate 2 on my 19 cx-5 awd. Great all year round here in Anchorage Alaska
I would love to see an on road test of several off road tires!

I live on the pacific north west and I approve these ko3s. Way better than at3 toyos and I loved those tires.

Love them !
Biggest complaint I have heard about the Ko2 is slippery on wet pavement, didn’t hear that addressed?
Just left the stamped trail we was hurting for 3 weeks harvested a 57 in bull moose

That’s weird, just put a set of KO 3’s on a 21 4 runner at our local Costco. He offered both but we went with the 3’s. Just the 265/70/R17 size.
@@pennylessplantation they won’t do KO2’s
@@joesee8079 the guy did say they are being discontinued but he had one set he would give us but replacement was a concern so we went with 3’s
35s are a rip off.
What would you say is a better size tire. Looking for a new set of tires as we speak?
@snowqueenny4879 for me, it's 295/70R18
Tommy in the suv looks like Doug Demuro
Why do some K02 and K03 have 35 by70 by 17 on them and some have 315 by 70 by 17 tire size both are suppose to be 35's
Bfgs and 4Runner don't go together. Had K02s on my 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road and I could never balance the tires.
Sometimes the installers don't line up the red, yellow or blue dots. Balancing would be impossible then
Great representative
Tommy - Did you meet Matt Carriker?
nokian have the new ice-grip symbol
Bfg's are way overpriced. Ill stick with my grabber x3s

Why do you guys want everything to be electric now? Yall are getting a little too woke for a lot of us.
What are you talking about lol? Too much time on the internet buddy
🙄

Your home has electricity. I guess you're woke now. See how stupid that sounds? 😂🤡 🤣
This is where the industry is going, whether we like it or not.
