I have a question! So I am on a Mac and absolutely HATE the magic mouse in all ways but one, the scrolling. Wanna scroll up? Down? Left? Right? No problem! Its VERY useful in garageband and video editing as well. I wanted the MX master for horizontal scrolling but its not good for gaming. Then I saw the keychron M6 but it is poorly built. Then I saw this mouse. Now my question is, can the thumbstick be used for smooth scrolling? I would REALLY love a gaming mouse that would let me do that. Just hold the stick in a direction, and it scrolls until I take my thumb off, that is all I want!
You're better off buying a Xbox 1 controller for 45 quid and a decent mouse for 50 quid=95 quid, 150 quid for a mouse is stupid.A Xbox 1 controller has much better compatibility for all games . That daft little knob ain't worth it.
I'm in the process of transitioning to mouse and keyboard after being a controller player for 20+ years and I think this may be a good bridge between the two. I'm really struggling to get used to mashing keys on a keyboard.
Most games you can use a controller and m&k at the same time. Right hand mouse, left hand controller. I use this method at times for fps. Helps to elevate your wrist a tad. That way the right side of the controller is setting on the desk, and your wrist isn't carrying an awkward weight.
If you're still interested in a keyboard that might help bridge that gap you should look into the Wootingone/two. The keyboard has an analog input system similar to the joystick on this mouse, allowing you to apply different variable pressure points to the keys for similar input as that of a controller. Might be a little over the top in terms of features though.
This will be my first non MMO mouse for years, so I will hope that I can do a couple of my binds to the stick but I think it will take a while ot get use to
I think thumbsticks on mice are great forplaying a game in a more chilled way and awesome for accessibility for disabled gamers. Though sadly every company that makes a mouse with a joystick build in, only make a right handed model. Meaning the potential accessibility limited .
Why is there no mention of the battery life without and with the rgb lighting? Such an important feature for a wireless mouse and you didn't mention a single thing about it...
I bought the wired version of chakram and the scroll wheel only scrolls the screen down no matter what direction I scroll the wheel up or down. The screen just continues to scroll down... why is that. Am I missing a setting?
So if your game doesn't come / run through steam the analog joystick is useless / not usable? It would seem Asus would have been better off creating a USB joystick device (via drivers) for the analog joystick so it was compatible in all games.
Oh yeah, that's honestly one of the only reasons I'm willing to shell out over $200 for a mouse in Canada. There's so few good wireless/wired mice that utilize USB-C. Which is a damn shame, because if I'm flying on a plane, USB-C is much easier to justify shoving into my backpack. One for the laptop, one for my phone (Which can be swapped to plugin/charge my mouse, headphones, really whatever now adays). And gaming on a flight? Pick some games that you can play on your iGPU and enjoy being able to game, and charge via ONLY USB-C.
but Logitech? nope, see their top of the line low profile mechanical keyboard 915 that still uses the ancient micro usb rather than the standard type c that costs a freaking 250 usd
£150 wireless mouse who's only real selling point compared to the competition is a joystick and some changeable omron switches. It's a real shame they decided to make changing the dpi on the fly as hard as possible. Logitech G903 is a much better mouse for less money AND it can be used by both left or right handers.
This mouse + Wootingtwo seems like a pretty dream macro team. The mouse you can assign the most necessary macros, whereas the analog input of the wootingtwo allows you to keybind multiple actions to a single button press. Ability/Skill based MMO's are about to get a lot easier if you can fork over $500CAD total for a mouse and keyboard. Just wish Wooting had a wireless variant, but I'll settle for a USB-C cable
·Xamãn ah man really? I was so hyped about this. Why is there no mouse on the market with true 360 movement. How can you call it an analog joystick when they all re-asign WASD like wth lol.

Chakram is a word from Indian languages. Bcoz there r too many similarities in those Languages. The word 'chakram' refers to 'wheel' in Malayalam language which is on of the official languages of India and the main Language of Kerala (southern state of India). And I was really surprised to see the word Chakram used by Asus for their gaming product. As I'm first to this channel I also noticed that the name of this channel consists another Indian language. ' GURU' which means master, teacher or mentor.
"Sprung loaded"? It was mentioned twice, so obviously it was intentional. Is this something that's being said now? I've lived in England & North America, never heard it before; it's always been "spring loaded" 🤷🏻♂️ Other than that, good review 👍🏻
Just about every mouse uses a spring loaded mechanism, some companies have tried out different methods and have completely axed it, but I guess ASUS wants to outline that they're utilizing a custom solution but retained the spring? Honestly I'm not sure why it's being used in marketing, my grandma's orange-white mouse from the early 90's uses a spring loaded mechanism as well so it's not like it's a groundbreaking discovery or anything. Seems other companies also use it as a selling point ie; Logitech G703 & G903 both advertise: "Mechanical button tensioning uses metal springs to help keep the left and right mouse buttons primed to click, reducing the force needed. Combined with individual left and right buttons, it enhances the consistency and delivers exceptional click feel and response."
Excellent review! Very thorough. Agree with you about the rubber grip. But I'll know more when it arrives I can only seem to find it on asus's online store and they kind of made me jump through hoops to get it. The price not to be boastful is not relevant to me and I wanted something with a joystick QI charging and of course admittedly a Rog fanboy or fan old man. Again excellent review can't wait till it gets here. It's going to go very well with my Rog themed build.
I've had this mouse for about a month. The mouse buttons became loose and creaky after only a week and makes it just feel bad to use. I wouldn't recommend this just from this one issue. The joystick is too far forward for my taste. And it is too stiff to comfortably use as a joystick, I just use it as a D-pad.
I went to Asus online store. Logged in on my account click the tab to get a notification for when it is in stock about four hours later they sent me an email saying it was in stock and then I immediately bought it. Unless it was a coincidence. I'm not sure what they were doing with that. But I wanted it so bad I didn't mind jumping through one or two of the Hoops to get it. So to answer your question actually it's not easy to get Amazon doesn't have it at all. I usually like going only through Amazon because of crime and all that but going through the Asus online store was the only way I can find it.

Forgive me if it's obvious, but for the cost, good to be certain. Can the joystick simulate ASWD?

Yes, it delivers an analog signal so the movement is dependent on how far you push on the joystick.
