The Vatican needs to start getting young priests to become bishops and cardinals. Over the years its been pure bishops above 60. They become too tired, and sick to deal with the church's mission.
Will the young ones enable the Church to fall off the secular cliff? Or will they bolster what the Church Universal is starved of?

One small correction: bishops and cardinals must submit a resignation to the Pope at age 75 but there is no “mandatory” retirement age. They can stay on for as long, or as little as the Pope decides. It’s entirely at his discretion. If a cardinal, for example, turns 80 and is still in good health then the Pope may leave him in place if he wishes. There is no age at which someone “has to” step down.

There are so many different obstacles that I face as a single mom. Some days I want to give up. God give me strength. I’m struggling to make ends meet. Both of my sons are special needs and require much from me. I keep faith because I know that God will provide. Age is not a factor for selecting bishops. Holiness should be key.
More young bishops and cardinals would solve a lot of issues I believe. May the will of God be done.

There should be a radical change in the overall selection of Bishops and their promotion. Especially in the age criteria. Should be between 55 to 65 to serve in a diocese. Resignation should be at the age of 65. It will save many dioceses from the process of slow death. Replacement process should start one year before retirement and new man should take up the office on the day of retirement of the out going.

The recent change of Roman Curia was established by Apostolic Constitution, Praedicate Evangelium (Preach the Gospel), was published on March 19, 2022, and went into effect on June 5, 2022 to replace Pastor Bonus.

I've always wondered why these very old men hang onto these jobs for so long?
What would happen if the majority of the Curia was made up of cardinals in their 50's instead of 70 to 80 year olds? I think younger men might be more in touch.
I also think its not such a bad idea to have a few nuns in governance positions. Pope Francis might be correct in his assessment.
With age comes wisdom. A woman cannot be a father.

However, one might assume that if a man is consecrated to the episcopate in his 40's and as bishop, is in charge of a diocese or any other leadership role and is then elevated to cardinal in his 50's that he should have enough wisdom. Plus he's young enough to be in touch and handle the workload.
I never said (nor did Pope Francis) that a woman could or should become a father. However, I do agree that some nuns would do well in positions of governance or the non theological high positions in the Vatican.

What makes anyone believe younger priests would be major reformers of the catholic church? They are power centered with poor social interpersonal skills..the church would remain conservative, perhaps even more so. These guys don't voluntarily give up power
