I like how this confirms that a 5 day run in Pikmin is completely impossible. Even if you could collect the ship part without hacks, the day is set to end. This means 6 days is truly the minimum amount of days to beat Pikmin.

somebody should make a hack where all the ship parts are there next to the ship but pikmin are super rare and you need to hunt the world for sprouts and bring them back to the ship unharmed through various hazards to collect the parts.
So... what have whe gathered is this: 1: The Ship can lift off with only the Positron Generator, the Engine isnt needed at all. 2: The Blue Onion decided to go with them, but is rather COMPLETELY useless. 3: Olimar has amnesia and belives the Engine is the first thing he found and that the Blue Onion was all along with him. 4: *E-Er... I-I DONT KNOW ANYMORE!*
Beat the game but never get the engine Edit: Realized that’s impossible because even though you can progress without it, it is still one of the necessary parts so it’d probably still make you fail.
@@GummyPikminProductions It's not based on how much parts you get, it's based on WHICH parts you get. 25 of these parts are necessary to get the Normal and Good ending. 5 other parts are optional, those being the Nova Blaster, Space Float, Massage Machine, UV Lamp, and the Secret Safe. The Main Engine is a mandatory ship part, so you can't get Normal or Good ending without it. In case you somehow don't understand, just go to the Pikmin wiki. www.pikminwiki.com/Ship_part
He said in another comment section that giving Pikmin the same abilities as other Pikmin causes the game to think you unlocked that Onion. Red Pikmin + Swim = Blue Onion
we could achieve this if the game didn't limit us to not being able to lie down on day 1. Perhaps you could hack it so that you can lie down on day 1??
Also, what if you use TAS and no part collision detection to collect main engine and PG on the same frame? (youd also have to hack in more pikmin or change their weights LUL)
I can try to hack the game to lie down in day 1. It's going to be hard to get both ship parts in at the same frame but it might be possible. I will try to get both of them in.
