    I had an absolute blast on the first world but the difficulty increase on the second world felt like a cruel and unusual punishment. Great looking game but designed by people who have no concept of level design or good progression.

    I don’t really understand the „this could also work in 2D“ arguments when reviewing Vr games. Why should only games that „needs to be in Vr“, be in Vr?
    Flat reviews after all arnt saying to every flat game they review „this game would work just as well in Vr as well“, are they?!

      Games like lucky tale are much better in flat than vr cause you can play in flat more comfortably and longer

      @@bonnief1 Maybe for you. Others we can play for hours comfortable in vr

    Game looks fun but the camera angle seems Abit off

    Hopefully this goes the route of luckys tale and goes to flat screen. Love 3D plat formers but I couldn’t see playing a 2 hour session in vr

      It's insanely fun to play these in VR
      Moss i sat through the whole game in VR

    Wow. The way the camera works makes those jumps look more like luck than skill.

      I’ve just beaten the game on PSVR2 and the jumping is actually quite precise. By default the camera is on a rail that smoothly moves forward and backwards as Ven does and of course you can move your head around to look around the level. You can also use the right stick to snap the camera left or right by a set amount, so you don’t have to exorcist your head all the way around, to more comfortably view things to the side of you.

    Too bad it seems to have these strange spikes in terms of balance and difficulty. That's one thing Lucky's Tale didn't get right either, with its mobile-game-like focus on grind and overly tricky repitition of already mastered levels.

    I'm glad I came here because I downloaded the 30 min trial to see if I would be interested in purchasing but once the download completed the trial period showed expired so I couldn't try it out. I believe this will be a hard pass for me. Thank you for the review and thanks to the commenters.

    I like 3D platformers, I like Crash Bandicoot, I like challenge, even bullshit challenge (there's not enough genuinely difficult VR games, I suspect this is part of the reason that Beat Saber thrives to this day), I like visually interesting levels which this has, and I just heard "45 hour campaign", looks like a deal to me.

      I just heard the same 45 hour but i can't belive it. I think he wanted to say 4 to 5 hours...

      Exactly, Everyone is compairing this to moss and astrobot well it isnt anything like either of them. This is 100% lucky's tale though.

    It looks like this game was made to remind us how good Moss and Astrobot were.

    I was really hoping that this would be on the level of Astro Bot

    Why do people keep comparison this to Moss? They're nothing alike.

    This game is very reminiscent of the early Ratchet and Clank's games. but in VR

  • @iamdmc
    @iamdmc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You mean it's Lucky's tale?

  • @jackatk
    @jackatk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    At the beginning, it opens up by telling you the story with static pictures fading in and out on a screen, with a voiceover.
    This game’s entire gimmick is that it’s in VR, and your first moments with it are just looking at a screen that’s showing you parts of the story.
    Games on 2D screens have more immersion than that. There’s no justification for it- it’s just lazy

  • @FatFilms89
    @FatFilms89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So it’s a Lucky’s Tale clone. Got it.
