We all know how important learning triads is! In this lesson, we’ll learn all the triad positions you’ll ever need on guitar. Starting in C major, we’ll learn how to divide the strings of the guitar in 4 sets of 3 strings and we’ll explore the root position, 1st and 2nd inversion in each set of strings. Then, we continue with the difference between closed positions and spread voicings triads. I also show how to practice these triads, how to visualise them on the fretboard and 2 exercises to run all through the fretboard. You can download all the 12 closed positions and the 9 spread voicing positions for all 4 species (major, minor, augmented and diminished) on my Patreon - it’s a total of 84 triad positions!

Finally learned triads! Thank you brother
Good lesson ...that 1st diagram at 2:04 is wrong though :)
This video is gold, just what I was looking for!!! Cheers! Keep it up mate!
In the last weeks I started to work more intense on these things and this video is very helpfull. Thank you very much!
Playing music is simply a never ending joyfull journey.
Totally agree ❤️
TY so much for your time and effort on this video it is amazing. Thanks to already having learnt the 5 patterns of the major scale and now these triads my ears are hearing many song parts when just mucking about practicing ... new doors of possibility are opening up 🤜🤛👍
Awesome lesson! Lots to practice. Will there be a lesson on applying triads?
Thank you! Yes indeed
this is the best most thorough lesson on Triads I have seen on youtube man. Thank you!
Thank you so much
Man, this is a fantastic lesson! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for watching!
This is gold ❤❤❤ thank you ❤❤❤
THANK YOU!!
Una fantastica lezione, quasi una RIVELAZIONE. Grazie!
Sei troppo buono! ❤️
Great lesson! This opens up even more opportunities on my fretboard! You have a new subscriber!
Thanks so much
THANK YOU! Subbed.
Great simple lesson on triads!
Thank you
thank you very much . great lesson !
Thank you
A lot of information to digest here awesome
Thanks mate
Brilliant Lesson. Honestly, as a Beginner guitarist, I had no idea that a simple C chord could be played so many different ways on guitar...... Obviously, this will take time to cement into the muscle memory. Thank you for your great exposure to Triads.
Thank you Anthony
Love this lesson! I think your tab for the first C triad is incorrect. Your fingering on the fret is showing 3-5-5 (G-E-C) but the tab is showing 3-3-5 (G-D-C)
Ops! Well spotted. I’ve made 80+ diagrams for this video, unfortunately one has a mistake!
They are all correct on Patreon though.
Thanks for watching!
Thankyou so much for naming the triads --however the first triad you show (1:56) is not C major---but G major------!---the rest are fine --thankyou again!
This is super great but I don’t understand why the C key is used much in guitar lessons because it’s really a piano thing. E would be more applicable
Great video. Note you got a mistake in the first triad picture
Thanks. Yeah, it’s correct on Patreon though
At 2:05 it should be 5 on the b string not 3
Am I wrong or is the chord diagram at 1:55 showing the d instead of the e?
Yes, it is correct on the pdf on Patreon though.
Give us a demo of how to use this triads.
I will, nicely
Dude, your first diagram is wrong. You're playing root position C, but your first diagram shows Csus2. Just saying. Thanks much!
I am sorry. I see others have already commented on this.
