They're definitely a real company, with real people that answer the phone when you call. The speakers have excellent components, and the sacrifice is in the cabinets. Compare the Tekton Lore to Zu Audio Omen Dirty Weekend. Each Lore has $250 worth of drivers plus crossover components. The Dirty Weekends have superb fit and finish on the cabinets, but the drivers are relatively cheap. For my money, I'd rather have superior sound quality, and minimal cabinet finish than the other way around. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, and completely satisfied with the people I've spoken to. You wouldn't be sorry if you took the plunge!

Great video w/ precise info as always. (And live the crew cut look!) I have had a pair of Mini Lores for a few years (in orange & wifey loves them lol). Originally drove them with an NAD C326bee (and Hsu VTF1 sub) which sounded really good. Recently purchased a vintage Pioneer SX-450 and connected the Mini Lores (w/no sub). Shocked how much better I liked the sound! More presence and “guts.” My jazz LPs sound simply sublime but they can also still rock out. Planning on another purchase soon (Troubadour?) so I can keep the NAD in play as a second system.

Everybody sleeps on vintage amplifiers and it’s a shame. In my opinion, power amplification technology and performance has NOT advanced much since the 70’s and I prefer the sound of vintage gear over modern stuff as it tends be more robust and full sounding.
For example, Schiit Audio’s Vidar 2 rated @ 100wpc into 8ohms couldn’t keep up with my 1974 pioneer sa-9100 that’s rated at 60wpc without going into thermal or over-current protection mode at volumes that my Pioneer does without breaking a sweat and that’s with the same speakers in the same room with the same volume settings. I thought the modern Schiit Audio gear would blow my vintage stuff away but I was badly mistaken.

I've owned a Perfect SET with upgraded option for 3 months now, and love it. I have a ANK Kit 300B Signature edition stereo amp driving it, just 8wpc Class A SET and speakers never sweat. So much textures and air, separation and beautiful vocals. Drive it with Wilsenton R8, soundstage opens up deep and wide, it has balls and lots of bass punch and slam. With Audio Research VT100 Mk3, it is lively, musical and sweet, tight bass, dynamic, so enjoyable. Not the last word in bass slam, there are better speakers in the bass department, but it does most things right, nothing too seriously wrong. If your redline is imaging, you might want to skip the Perfect speakers. I think the 2-10 version will have better bass than my single 12" woofer Perfect SET,. On my speakers, the bass sounded natural and coherent but light. I do feel the powerful tight bass with in-my chest sound with my active woofer, it sounded full range, sounds fun with watching movie. The Perfect SET is great with small SET amps and higher power tube amps, it loves tube and no issues even in a small room. Great value for my money.

This design is in theory similar to a dome mid-range, such as previously used on Dynaudio speakers (and some other brands that used Dynaudio drivers). But since these dome drivers are smaller than a typical dome mid-range driver, they use 6 of them to make up for that.

I am very confused by the Tekton website.... Like VERY confused.
On the surface it seems like they have too many overlapping models.
I emailed them to ask how to distinguish sound signature between all the models and his reply was that I should call him directly before ordering.
While I appreciate that I can talk directly to the owner, I ALSO think there needs to be a simple chart as a reference to indicate the strengths of each model and their intended usage.
Specifically, I will be using a low wattage tube amp (6.5 watts) but I have a solid state preamp before it to increase the signal strength....effectively giving me more volume than the 6.5 watts can do on it's own (and also so I can use a remote control for volume adjustment).
I want to know which model will be the least tipped up on the high frequencies and will be warm in the midrange

I think the tweeters are Seas which are mid priced drivers. And I think the woofers are Eminence and are also mid price units. I bought some Eminence 8" drivers that cost over $200 a pair. The larger ones would cost more. The really large Tekton completed speakers have two arrays of the radial tweeter arrangements with the double woofers, it's a lot of drivers (x2). Along with the crossover which cost a lot too, and the timber etc. for the huge boxes and binding plugs inner cable etc. as well, would cost me way more than the 4 grand asking price for the completed speakers. Wow! Then there is all the work in building.

@@herrtrigger7220 Yes bigger size will indeed give more bass, so I agree with you on that. But I would not call that difference 'perfomance' - because that would mean that all monitors perform poorly. But I agree that going for Pendragons for a bit more money is a no-brainer in most cases. I recently got Enzo XLs with 7 tweeters, though. The reason I did not take Pendragons (or Double impacts) is my room. It has a lowish ceiling on one side and some wood around it that enhances bass anyway. Enzo XLs have front ports and above them there is enough space in my room - it works very well - bass is perfect. Mids and highs should be about the same as Pendragons.
