I found the Moab to be forgiving of close proximity to the wall with and without treatment. I've been rocking them with the spikes on some sliding pucks for the spikes from some company that I can't remember, helped the sound. I'm tempted to try the Townshend Podiums. Only thing is, I'd have to raise my sofa to match the height I suppose. I like having the tweeter at ear height so I'm in the middle of the array.
Woah, fix your room if you think the Moabs are not precise in their imaging. That's your room affecting the imaging. I know this for a fact as I gradually made changes to my room as far as treatment and placement. I experienced a whole bunch of different presentations. Finally got it all dialed in, and I've got something special going on, not just because I'm in love with the sound, folks who've heard it have said so. My first reflection is treated from floor to ceiling, as well as the corners. Moabs have a lot of radiating area to tame. Big difference than just treating around ear height.
Thanks for this video. I'm considering the Double Impact based on the WAF and the sheer size of the Moab and impact on my livng room. I hope the grills cover all of the drivers and keep my grandkids fingers away.

Put your Moabs on Townshend Podiums and you will be shocked at how much better they sound. Bass will still be full but a lot more articulate and midrange and treble will be so much more clean and clear it will be hard to believe. Podiums also make precise leveling quick and easy. My Moabs have been on Podiums about a year now, I have tried them with other speakers, the improvement is impressive. Not cheap, but I have tried a lot of others and nothing else comes even close. In your room with your turntable isolating those speakers will be huge.

Jesus moabs are huge. Great speaker though. Wonder how those get delivered? Need a team? As I understand, maybe wrong but Tekton uses Guitar amp drivers that make a great match for live recordings.
So, I was supposed to receive mine by a team of two. They were supposed to deliver to my door and bring them in. Instead, an older fellow showed up by himself, was annoyed that I even mentioned the original agreement per my order and simply left the pallet in front of my garage. Ended up calling Eric who put me in touch with the packer who told me the best way to orient the box while moving it up a steep flight of steps from the garage to the first floor. Incident free otherwise, and no damage to the speakers or packaging. Flattened and shrink wrapped the packaging and foam for future moves. I don't look forward to ever having to pack them up.
Awesome rig, I don’t mean this in a mean way but if your serious enough to spend that kind of money on gear and isolation, put it in a balanced room with some effective room treatment.

I too would love to hear what the moabs sound like. I got a pair of pendragons with the upgraded 7 tweeter and upgraded caps and I'm positively in love with it and would love to hear more about other models.
My Double Impacts were god awful and if you ask seasoned pros, Tektons aren’t even on the menu. Plus, the customer service was nil and rude but If you gotta try them, buy used otherwise expect to spend hundreds to ship them back. There’s plenty of them on the used market.

Also do u really need 5k worth in amps to power speakers. class ab is class ab right. shouldnt a decent 1k usd of amplification be enough for good sound. Not like i need absolute best sound. What do u think about Bower and Wilkins 702 S2 that are on ebay used with dings for 900 each vs 3k each new.

I ended up with completely rebuilt Proac Response Threes that smoked the Tektons and Klipsch and they were cheaper than the Tektons. Tektons are good for loud music, that's it. There was no definition or subtleties. If you're ever in NY let me know and you can come over. My new philosophy is don't be a sucker, don't listen to reviews.

Low volume, high volume, different room sizes, different genres, Tektons can do A LOT really, really well. Maybe the best speakers available per dollar if aesthetics isn't a factor.

I'm a speaker noob, and I run across this video and I don't even know what I'm looking at. Except that the TV is tiny.
Honestly man you really need room treatment, it will be the most beneficial upgrade you’ll ever make in that room.
