I looked for gloves for 4 months. For price point, you can't beat these. I got them for 38 bucks at my bike shop in Vancouver. The perforated version are well ventilated and suited for summer riding, but will do for the early part of the shoulder season. The leather is quite thin which is great for flex and comfort, however not the best for abrasion resistance. Also easy to donne and off. For 38+hst, you can't go wrong. Great glove.

I like how you always get right to the point, never biased, and focus on all the important details. Still can't believe this is a one man production (at least I guess it is).
I wonder if you would like to make like a beginner's guide to most basic/important adv motorcycle gear? (not gear as in clothes, but as gear for the bike)

Daniel Kemnitz I checked the LS2 in person, you can immediately see why it is so cheap.

    • @CaptHollister

      hcmpe yang3
Fortnine is based in Canada and the prices given are in Canadian dollars. Yes, the Nolan is made in Italy, that is why it's so much more expensive. As a life-long rider since the 1970s, I've owned many helmets, including Nolan (but not the N44) and my current LS2. In my experience, I would say the price difference between these two isn't justified. LS2 helmets are surprisingly well-made and don't fit the stereotype of cheap Chinese helmets. Quality-wise, they are on par with other medium range helmets, but cost a lot less.

One thing to mention with that Shinko Tire, If you do worry about the fishtailing you can always razor the tire, it used to be popular back in the 70s, all people would do is buy a tire, if it fish tails or they want more grip, they use a razor or something like an exacto knife to cut small pieces out of the Tread to fix the problem.

  • @MyNameisStorm
    @MyNameisStorm 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

I work at a motorcycle performance shop, I cannot recommend the sport Shinko tires. They are an extremely hard compound which means they are great for burnouts and drifting if you're into that sort of thing, but not so good for grip and over-all performance. Sure they're cheap, if you have no other option, they are obviously better than nothing, but I'd recommend better.
The dual-sport tires might be great, as you really can't go wrong with the compound for those, I'd just stay away from the sport tires.

Ryan said in another video that "Motorcycling is an expensive and dangerous hobby", and "who thinks about motorcycle economy, right?" For the first 4 or 5 decades of my motorcycling life, Economy ( read poverty) was one of the main reasons I had a motorcycle ! Often it was ALL we had... so if a 50 or 100 pound sack of Beans or Rice and the Girl Friend needed to go 200 miles home... well we just did. Seems the old BMW's were pretty much made for the job. A Bell shorty and a jean jacket (yes with a scarf) were the gear, then a 3/4 and goggles- 5000 miles through mexico that way, and 20 years ago we went full face, because those were the kind of helmets at garage sales and flea markets, or that came with the new bike. Bit large ? Wear a watch cap underneath, helps with the noise and keeps the ears warm. Anything less than 50 mpg sucked ( and still does), who ever heard of not doing your own work ? But there was no rocket ships in my stable untill the K-100RS and thats when I got the first gear jacket and gave up the wool World War I Army Trench Coat.

It still blows my mind that there are people out there spending $500+ on helmets and $700+ on jackets.
I wear a store brand Sedici viaggio parlar adventure bike helmet. Zero complaints. Performs like a champ. It is very comfortable, has great vis, has vents, has a drop down sun visor, and has bluetooth. It cost me a princely sum of $200.
My Cortec jacket cost me $50 on FB marketplace. It is fully armored and has a waterproof liner if it rains.

I've been running Shinkos for a while now on everything I can. Great tires. For a medium to smaller bike like a Ninja 650 you can literally get TWO tires for around $120 or even less if you're on something small like a Ninja 250/300. I even ran the Ravens on my GSX-R 750 fantastic mileage and more than enough grip for me on the street.

the material used for the Nolan is far superior than that used to build the LS2
--> usually the price comes from the materials used, the effort that it takes to design and built (certain parts are handmade) and the design (one extra step that actually is overpriced)
love your vids and if I'm wrong please correct me

Hey Ryan, are you doing reviews as a hobby or getting paid for your work? I agree, you're channel is underrated. Keep up the good work man! I enjoy the detail you provide.

Hey Chris! Ryan is out filming a bike review right now (Yamaha Z125) but I'll chime in :-). We're an ecommerce site and RyanF9 is in charge of content creation. Thanks for the feedback bud. - NeilF9
