  • Fresh oil for the rear end of the rxv. The oil should be changed every 5 years on most golf carts. You will need gear oil, slip additive, fluid pump, gasket maker, 1/2" socket, floor jack (optional)

    Nice step-by-step. Clear and concise. Thank you.

    Should never spray up into the diff with any type of degreaser. There will be residue left over that will degrade the new fluid. Wipe out what you can and leave it be.

    Once u fill it to the point that it starts to drip back out of the fill hole, you're done. If you then add more thru the vent you have overfilled.

      On a normal auto application that's true but I have to wonder about the hub bearings if the fill hole is below the axel tubes you might need some more

      Not true when I dumped my pan it was filled way fuller than that

    Can’t you just use the drain plug to drain it? And is there a fill plug on top to refill without taking the bottom cover off? Thanks.

    I see that after you tightened it back up you seem to have smeared more gaskets sealer around the edge...did u add more because it leaked or were you just smearing the excess?

      Just ran my finger around the bead, I should have just let it be...

      Leave the excess and let it dry then run a razor around it and you have a nice clean original gasket look.

    How did you get the drain pan off after removing the bolts?

    Incomplete description show cap being reinstalled etc and pulling plug would be better.

    Just wondering if there is concern of the gasket maker seeping on the inside of the differential? You would think that if it oozed out the outside that it would ooze on the inside too.

      It will, but if you wait the amount of time required it will set and be fine

    I think you're shortchanging yourself on some performance.. I believe the factory uses 30w in the diff.. I've seen suggestions to use a synthetic 5w30

    • @CaribbeanSimPilot

      Would that Royal Purple 5w30 be good?

      My 2013 TXT calls for 30W motor oil to the fill plug level.

    Are these motors just noisy? I have a 22 S4 72v and I swear the motor makes a lot of noise. For sure when I left off the throttle.

    • @valhallaaerial8152
      @valhallaaerial8152  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its an electric motor, its normal to hear that electric 'whine' when your on the throttle, when you let off you hear everything the motor sound obscures. It could be as simple as the sound of the tires rolling on pavement, could be axle bearings, or it could be the gears in the diff, very hard to tell without hearing it first hand

    Mine is leaking. Think it’s the seal?

    • @valhallaaerial8152
      @valhallaaerial8152  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely, thats 90% of leaks. I’d pull it off and take a look at the cover and housing as well to make sure there are no cracks or any damage

    No idea why you would add slip diff friction modifier to a golf cart differential. That stuff is expensive and serves absolutely no valid purpose in a cart diff.

    • @stevendaniel8704
      @stevendaniel8704 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i believe they are limited slip with friction material

    • @frankcastle5294
      @frankcastle5294 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevendaniel8704 I've worked on over 200 gas and electric and have yet to see a limited slip. They are all Dana 40's and open.

    Waaay too heavy on the gasket maker. Less is more when it comes to the stuff

    What an ugly gasket jeez…

    • @valhallaaerial8152
      @valhallaaerial8152  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can't argue that! I should have added...don't smear it with your finger like I did
