Very helpful thank you I got a 96 Cherokee sport from the WI salty winter; it's going to be a pain but determined to do it. I got it for $900 with 81000 miles inside very clean engine runs great already did the front springs, complete brake system, front bearing hubs. So got so much into it got to get it fixed. I will be cussing up a storm. Thanks.

I used a small oxy-acetylene torch to heat all my leaf spring bolts here in the salty, rusty, wintery north. Long enough to set the bushings on fire until most of the rubber had melted and dripped out, until the heads were cherry red. Then used a long breaker bar and 1/2 inch socket to get them loose. It saves so much time and fab work. I know torch set-ups are not cheap, but if you can buy used or borrow, it's worth it. I used a Cobra-Henrob.

Given the general overview/photos you provided, it looks as if it's really just as simple as cutting out the old crap and putting in the new. Oddly enough, my 1996 XJ needs these; but the floor pans are GONE; but the structural parts (Pinch welds, etc) are perfect...WTF

Man I’m saving this I live in Ohio and the ass end of my 97 xj is pretty crusty I’m gonna replace my rear springs for essentially the same reason. It sucks cus nobody from the N.E. Posts videos of rusty suspension work it’s all west of the Mississippi rust free ones and they make it look easy. We rust belt inhabitants have to do twice the work for the same results.
