G'day from Western Australia Anthony. I met & spoke with Doc on a couple of occasions while he was touring here. Such a devastating loss for a life-long Angels fan. I bought a guitar off his guitarist in DNA, it's been played by Doc & is something I'll still own when I die. Cheerz. ;)=-
There was only one Doc, anyone who saw them live back in the day, absolutely fkn amazing. You could go to a pub and see a band Thu,Fri ,Sat 5 minutes from home, long live the eighties. RIP DOC I'm sure you'll be rockin heaven.
I landed here because i recorded lori chaka one bitten twice shy and Elvira mistress of the dark version next up came the angels never heard them do this before i have quite a lot of there stuff great version by doc i bought ian hunters album just for this song RIP doc Nov 10 sydney australia 2022 forever an angels fan
Well, dare I say it, but I rate this cover better than the Ian Hunter original. The drummer is right on with great fills and the vocals really tell the story.
so school me on this is this the original band singing this song? I never heard this version. I mean obviously this band came out way before Great White.
This is mid to late 90's so can someone name the line up for me....Doc....Brewster (lead guitar)....Eccles (drums) but whos the rhythm and bass guitarist?
No one, no band has ever matched or has even come close to the original version from 1975 by Ian Hunter (writer) and Mick Ronson, try as they may. Great White probably had the best known cover, but it pales in comparison. Doesn't even come close to the excellence that is the original.
I guess we'll just have to disagree somewhat on that one Denny. The original was awesome, a great song that I've always enjoyed hearing & playing, but in my opinion as a musician, The Angels give it more punch & dynamics. The intro, the slide guitar & the greatest front man to ever breathe take it to another level. \m/
I know this track isn't there's. But these guys r great over all I just thing they could have done better on this track. But for the most part a great rocking band
Interesting that Great Shite covered Face The Day and this song. Both versions of which are 1000 times better by these lads..... Thought nothing touches the original......
Well well... The Angels doing a cover of a song that Great White also covered ,When great White actually covered 2 Angels songs.. Badly.. But The GtWhite cover of this is actually better than this...
This is AWFUL. After a great start with the guitars the lead singer starts talk-singing that sounds like the guy from "Monster Mash." Just horrible. It gets better after the 1st chorus but this is much worse than Great White.
Dark Coven look up Ian hunters version he's the original writer from 1975. Has a slower less rocky beat, but myself I like his better than great white, and yeah this one is garbage
Angels for ever!! It´s so sad that Doc has passed away. Hello from Germany.

Still love and miss you Doc, may the angels in heaven enjoy your talent
Aussie kid , grew up in Sydney burbs in the 80s. What a fkn band !!!🤘
Absolutely the best version ever from Doc n the boys.
There was only one Doc, anyone who saw them live back in the day, absolutely fkn amazing. You could go to a pub and see a band Thu,Fri ,Sat 5 minutes from home, long live the eighties. RIP DOC I'm sure you'll be rockin heaven.
Slick costuming looks rockin'. Love the slidework, Bob's vai esque look and licks kick and then Doc. Amen.
Love this cover, great , should say the best cover of this song. 1980s Australian bands we were blessed with talent
“The Angles i love your outstanding performance of Once Bitten Twice Shy very much indeed “
That is the best version of one of my favourite songs 😷🎤🍴😁😃😃🎣👍🏏🤙🎸🎸❤️❤️🤠🤠😀😎😎🍺🍺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Love and miss ya Doc...rock on
Doc you where the king and this lineup was bobs show he’s amazing doc and bob thanks for the cover of great while you put it in the bag ten fold
DOC YOU WERE THE BEST.😉👍
It’s got me beat why the Angles didn’t make it as big as AC/DC the Angles are right up there
Infighting?
one of the greats out of Oztraya !!
along with their cover of Eric Burdon's We've gotta get out this place... the best.
Oh dear... and I actually like this band
The guitaring simply makes this my favorite version of this song
and Docs Drama
I landed here because i recorded lori chaka one bitten twice shy and Elvira mistress of the dark version next up came the angels never heard them do this before i have quite a lot of there stuff great version by doc i bought ian hunters album just for this song RIP doc Nov 10 sydney australia 2022 forever an angels fan
Didn't know they covered this. RIP Doc
It was first released on their late '91 LP "Red Back Fever".
Great cover...i reckon Ian would like it!
I miss Doc. Doc would've known what to do🇦🇺🖖
@Grinlad Luck you... Don't miss them.. they are just great live
Yeeeeh Haaaaaaa
a nod and wink to the Ian Hunter band...
C est du top .; Version Great White pas mal non plus !!!!
Well, dare I say it, but I rate this cover better than the Ian Hunter original. The drummer is right on with great fills and the vocals really tell the story.
First time i've known what Mick was singing :)
Oh Doc! RIP dude, we'll see your face again!
Why do you want to kick their shins om 😎💚
⚔️🐲😎💚
Exhale 🦬
Great Who? LOL! BEST 2 versions, Hunter's and the Angels! \m/ RIP Doc!
If you like this version, you'll love Shaun Cassidy's version. It's hard to tell which one sucks more.
@@vintagethrifter2114 LOL! Already heard it! And CAN'T ever UN hear it! No, Cassidy's is THE worst ver hands down! (Closely followed by Great Shite!)
nice
Good Start. The rest sounds like 'Beds are burning' From Midnight Oil.
Love Great White. The Angels rock but Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter were the masters.
this is pretty fucking awesome....if'yer drunk an' stoned. Cudoes what goes on within an orchestra is so-o amazing.
I saw them open for Triumph in 87 unfortunately they got booed off stage by 3rd song
@hambone9119 You may have a point - good track. Are they coming to the UK in the near future?
i'm curious... who plays piano on the song?
The Angels are to Great White what Slade was to Quiet Riot.
@MrSlikdik what are you into... Classical or just don't like music..
I miss doc.
What's up Doc. Did you see hie crystal. Lovely passenger.
Shudup
great song sung by great band, but only a cover by a much earlier band.....Any help with that here?
Ian Hunter is what you are after.
so school me on this is this the original band singing this song? I never heard this version. I mean obviously this band came out way before Great White.
Great white.
This is mid to late 90's so can someone name the line up for me....Doc....Brewster (lead guitar)....Eccles (drums) but whos the rhythm and bass guitarist?
Bob Spencer James Morley
This video was released at the tail end of 1991, wasn't mid to late 90s'.
No one, no band has ever matched or has even come close to the original version from 1975 by Ian Hunter (writer) and Mick Ronson, try as they may. Great White probably had the best known cover, but it pales in comparison. Doesn't even come close to the excellence that is the original.
Thanks, just what I needed to know.
DennyYou true, that
sorry to say but the angles smashed the shitty great white's version !! --> by far !
Quo did a decent version of the song, far from being a super hit, but at least with no traces of glam: th-cam.com/video/vRbaEc7Dypo/w-d-xo.html
I guess we'll just have to disagree somewhat on that one Denny. Iza Sonny Barger the Black Widow??
I know this track isn't there's. But these guys r great over all I just thing they could have done better on this track. But for the most part a great rocking band
What about the Little River Band.
@Grinlad Never fear check out the bands latest song The Angels Waiting For The Sun its on youtube and a national tour to support.
Ian Hunter still does it the best but if you you don't think this cooks you need a rock and roll injection !!

This and Great White are covers of Ian Hunters version. From the 2 min mark when the drummer does a quick solo this song rocks on.
Good. Maybe not as good as the original. Shame Bob didn't get a go.
@munjat1 Ummmm yes.. vocals are dreadful.. but neither This nor Great White can touch the original..
They're great , much prefer their originals
@witchman1Yeah.....It is pretty dreadful... and I agree the original is best..
Great white is still the best but this version is better than the original
Kinda creepy, I'll pass.
you are a poor excuse for a rock critic.... Bleugh
This is AWFUL. After a great start with the guitars the lead singer starts talk-singing that sounds like the guy from "Monster Mash." Just horrible. It gets better after the 1st chorus but this is much worse than Great White.
The Doc was brilliant.
Disagree. It's not as if Great White's COVER version is the standard.
It's different and has women in it, but still lover there's here.
Dark Coven look up Ian hunters version he's the original writer from 1975. Has a slower less rocky beat, but myself I like his better than great white, and yeah this one is garbage
Once Bitten covered with no piano is just shit no matter how much guitar you put on it..
Awful song and band face the day also sux!!! hard to believe great white looked up to this band but GW was AMAZING AND MUCH MORE MELODIC!
If you saw the Angels live, you would have a different opinion. They were better than
ACDC, hence how they had their break in Australia.
Im talking about there musik
I will
Thanks for the insult btw.... That song is ok but it cant be there beat stuff..... Check out "the angel song" by great white....
Alex Hinterreiter EG U2. I was a fan, & I have not heard anything decent since the late 90s. I love the Beatles, but the last album. No.
