I don't care what anyone says, the cult is bad ass , I've listened to them since I was a teenager❤❤❤
If Rob zombie thinks you’re bad ass, then guess what? Yup you’re bad ass… just wanted to second that.
unc

I'm 52 and still love this song.
At 53 I'm still loving this band as when I was in my twenties !
I'm nearing 50 and still dance around to The Cult.
Im 69 and this stuff is as good as the day it was released, it must be loud to be appreciated. If only the kids today could get into this.
62 this year and still into this!!!! especially when the wife is not in the car and this is on max volume!!!!!!

Billy Duffy’s guitar sound is instantly recognizable.
Great style just rocks makes it fun to play...

Andy Lee I totally agree!
Top tier guitar player
100% for sure. I think that's true of all the greats.
Peacefully driving in gta 5 and then this comes on.. classic.
Listening to this during a thunderstorm and the chorus hit right as lightning struck. I got chills

We were the last ones to be free.
absolutely
Truth ! ❤
esp since there was no internet-based evidence
@@eleonorengland7702 eh?
This is one of the best songs ever made in the 80's and Ian Astbury vocal performance is absolutely amazing 👏
Most underrated band of all time.
Good SHIT...They influenced lots of 90's bands
They were massive in the UK during 1984-1987
Agreed
Oh wig. They're amazing and this has to be the song that woke me up to how much the cult really bangs.
@dread true yes they still have huge following all over the world.
I actually used to go see them before they were famous in Manchester.
Beatles: Here comes the sun
The Cult: Here comes the rain
Garbage: only happy when it rains
The Cure - Prayers for rain
Jane Siberry - It Can't Rain All the Time (The Crow OST)
The Weather Girls - Its raining men
Men :D
Hot sticky scenes
You know what I mean
Like a desert sun
That burns my skin
I've been waiting
For her for so long
Open the sky
And let her come down
Here comes the rain
Here comes the rain
Here she comes again
Here comes the rain
Hot sticky scenes

Like a desert sun
That burns my skin, skin, skin
I've been waiting
For her for so long

And let her come down
Here comes the rain
Here comes the rain
Here she comes again
Here comes the rain
I love the rain
I love the rain
Here she comes again
Here comes the rain
Oh, rain
Rain
Rain
Oh, here comes the rain
I love the rain
Well, I love the rain
Here she comes again

One of the most underrated bands of their time.
Of all time, even
Sin dudas...
No, They are very much well known legends in the business
Not in Spain
@@juliodiaz3925 Eso mismo pienso yo.
This riff guitar is immortal 🖤
Certainly is, one of the best rock songs ever
Yes, I remember catching this on MTV at the time, one of the best neo-glam rock acts of the entire decade (the main MTV video was a different one, in black and white - this is from TOTP isn't it? - but the absence of colour did nothing to dminish the power of the song).
He's a riff master
The Cult is ABSOLUTELY the best
Yep 🤩
Always ❤️
They are underrated. Sucks man. They deserve more
I enjoy singing their Karaoke 🎤 songs.
This song was playing on the radio when I started my car today and went to work. The guitar riff stayed in my head all day.
Knew of them obvs but never paid much attention until I heard this on BBC6 about 6 months ago, stunned me!
Been going through their back catalogue since. Love em, so good
Haha same here, 7 months after you. Heard this song in my car this afternoon and couldn’t wait until I got back home to watch the video. That riff had been stuck in my head all day long!
one of the best voices in the rock music, absolutely unique
Si,👍
Even better now,matured!
Absolutely....................Here Comes The RAIN...................................
Ian and Jack Russell of Great White. Best 80s rock singers.
Incredible singer
my god man! can you believe we were all young back in the 80,s now we are old. listening to these guys makes me want to party like i was young again, but it would kill me lol!
Great times, I do miss them along with my hair.
Timeless. Hits as hard as it did back in the day. Love the rock then, great time to be young. Thx!#1
Do it anyway Frank. Life is short my friend.
amen..
It's the knees dude, the knees...
Just discovered this band and my heart is filled with so much happiness omg
no lie. we’d be in a club “back in the day” that’s jamming typical 80s dance music in the 80s and this would come on and everyone crammed the dance floor. The DJs probably spun it a little faster, but you wouldn’t think this would be a club song. Would you?
Same here, just getting into The Cult. Really enjoying what I'm hearing.
maki, have you discovered yet another bands since then? ^-^
Check out the stuff they made when we used to see them as Southern Death Cult. Please.
Try the Travelling Wilburys for more 80s brilliance!
My neighbor loves this song so much, be threw a brick through my window to hear it better. 😊
Hahaha 😄
😂❤
I'm 53yrs old and still listen the cult, they rock.
I think my menopause just reversed itself
you win the internet today.
Me too
Lol I needed that!
LOL
Ew bro lmao
why didnt this band get way more famous -- this front man is easily one of the coolest looking in rock history.
They were famous in the right places
There still packing out venues now ,and sound brilliant
This is the kind of band you want to keep for yourself man.
Way cooler than Mick Jagger....not really. I love them both. Musicians are our sanctuary.
The 80's had the hair bands and new wave, they were kinda in the middle. They got no airplay in Detroit rock stations as they were more inclined to play Motley Crue, Cinderella, GnR..etc..There was one alternative station that played them but it was a low end station. I grew up in Canada and they were big on Much Music, so I got to see these videos many time. When Sonic Temple came out, they finally got the air play they deserved but unfortunately it petered out from there. They should be proud with the collection of hits they made.
This will never get old for me, so many memories🥲
The Cult is absolute gem of a band. I hope everyone can discover them one day and enjoy them as I have.
That riff, the guitar just hypnotizes me!
😎🤘🏻
It really does, it's just epic!
If something is not moving then you are already dead! Absolutely banging tune and guitar!❤️😁
I'm 60 and it still takes me back...that girl you'll always remember
You do know there's a catch to the lyrics, her name is rain lol.
I was her.
Always
@@Angie-in8wc you were one of many
@@tvtitlechampion3238 😆😅😂🤣
One of the greatest bands in history. Thanks for 80is!
Igor Jankovic and underrated
Amen!!!!!
Hot sticky scenes.. You know what I mean!
@@Farnellster is there any other to be?😎
Not the greatest... but a sticky hot to the hail party of Goth!
Been listening to this band since 1984 and I'm still loving it! They've always been one of my favorite bands and they stand the test of time. A sound that stays relevant forever!
Também ouço há tempos, tenho em vinil.
Was into “southern death cult “ etc thanks to John peel on radio one uk
God given charisma energy and talent. The CULT. ULTIMATE.
Billy Duffy's opening tunes are out of this world. Probably biggest factor in why this band is so great.
Exactly! Him and Suede's Bernard Butler are masters of intros, they automatically elevate songs to another, even higher level.
BILLY❤❤❤❤❤
One of the best eighties hit. Brilliant band, timeless song.
The cult are great. Loved them . Saw them live several times.
Great song and group I’m 58 and still love this group and brings back great memories
Those are the happiest vampires I’ve ever seen.
Same two in dr and the medics
Vampire Hunter D in 'she sells sanctuary' video. Think they modeled the character off of him. lol
@@beaujules1 I thought it was a reaver.
Vampire nonetheless, never forget!
Everyone who came here knows what good music is
A Cult dance club classic!! I can still see the fog machines and strobe lights in full effect......
Hell yeah! Good times. 😎
One of my favorite cult songs! My first favorite of theirs is "love removal machine" my second favorite is this one called "rain" and my third favorite is "fire women" of course! Who else is here listening in 2024 and has been and always will be!?
Edie would be in my top 3.
She Sells isn’t in your top 3? Shame.
Los Santos Rock Radio
The Cult is also featured in VRock (Vice City Radio Station). They played She Sells Sanctuary.
eyyyyyyyyyy, legend
Up top, brothers and sisters
This song on a sunset night escaping the cops ❤
Totally. Gta rockkks
Still the best "road trip" song ever! ! ! There's still nothing like hearing Ian and Billy at full blast (way over 10+) while you journey to your next stop of destination. This song - is the SHIT. period
Definitely one of my top 3 songs. If you want to get me on the dance floor, spin this up.
I agree! This song is great to dance to as well. Plus, LLTC (LadiesLoveTheCult)!!
Yes we do!
Yes, Lil Devil is an amazing song (and I fucking LOVE IT, myself!) But sadly it doesn't meet the road trip criteria. . . .
Lil Devil - has a short and very quick guitar lick as it's basic hook. Over and over. Where as - Rain - has a long, slower and more sustained hook as its base sound. Do you get it now?
Now it 2023?
..and the rain started in the middle of the night here...
And the base line in this song was stuck in my head and had to hear it again.
It is timeless
Hi ! :)
A number one song that didn’t go to number one. 😤
One of those songs that you need to hear continuously...
The Cult always got me up on my feet dancing at the lake, playing the songs so loud. The whole community got to enjoy. Amazing band.
I imagined the backup dancers would look like my mom. She was exotic looking with long dark hair to her waist, almond eyes with smokey eyeshadow 80's style, hourglass figure and wearing strappy cocktail dresses from that time.
These backup dancers would've been perfect for the Sonny & Cher Show in the 70's. I remember illustrations of women from that era that resemble these dancers. ❤
those backup dancers are trans girls, you know.
Same girls as Doctor and the Medics
Shame on Rolling Stone for never really promoting this effin amazing, iconic band. They have been criminally ignored! True greatness!
Rolling Stone knows shit
One of the best bands ever. They just kick ass.
Love The Cult, still listening in June 2021.
Yeah but are you listening to it in July 2021?!?!
@@fergushughes3428 Hell, yes!!
July 30th 2021 here.
@@rupertband4544 👍😊
31st July too 😎
Still Epic in '23. Bring on the live shows...
Anyone 50 years old listening to this still? 🙋♂️
57....Still a favourite..during my goth days🖤
No joke we saw The Cult at an outdoor festival maybe 5 years ago and it rained and when they played this it was glorious!
Thank you GTA V for making me know such beautiful songs of the 80s
Is that all you twats know is fkn GTA??? JFC, there’s a whole GD world out there!! GTFO out of your mom’s basement you D-bag!!!!🤦
Just saw these guys a couple months ago, man that was one of the best shows I have ever seen!
I had COVID and missed them in Scotland, praying they're back next year!!!
When I'd go to Sabrina in River North and the dj played my list - thank you Sean - I almost went into a trance when the Cult came on. Oh man, amazing nights.
Iconic, 80's music will never be boring.
I agree.
ya damn right!
True not this depressing music nowadays.. that teens love..lol
Agreed 100%
@@gabrielsson2005 Depressing music has been a thing since the 90's.
Billy Duffy is a master on the guitar. Seeing them in concert a couple times was awesome.
Just saw them last week in Boston. I had seen then once before, but this last show was awesome.
+Merrilee - Nice. So jealous!!
+Giovanni Joseph
Syrian Mosque, Pittsburgh PA, 1988. A Southern Baptist Snake Handler experience.
ah ok
He's the Edge before the Edge
the CULT is FREAKIN 👏 Brilliant
Man this band was awesome! I still have this album 💿✌️😎🎸
I heard this song a few thousand times, but I had never seen the clip before, bizarre and cool, great band, songs that have no expiration date. (2021 Feb 05)
“Bizzare “. Very fitting word. .
the same.
Same here, I heard the song several times before but discovered de clip just days ago and... can't stop watching.
Yep. One of the most aggressively 80s videos ever. KILLER TUNE!!
Sanctuary got me interested in the cult but rain cemented them as my favourite band and the one I wanted to see live.
Seen them 46 times now and rain still remains my favourite ever song
Leighton Steven meeee toooo 👍
You've got me beat. Three times for me. And they're fucking amazing!
Finally saw them live June 2 2019 at Casino Rama. Ian hit every song. I'm 55. I waited way too long to see them live.
First saw them as The Southern Death Cult in the early 80s in a pub in Burnley, they were pretty good back then as well.
I love listening to this song alot more and it came on my Amazon music today.
such a kickass tune...will always love you Cult
I am 60yo & a still love to dance around to this band. Legends in my mind😊!
Perfect example of quality never dying
Whatever settings this guitarist has his pedals and guitar has set, screams my childhood to me. Singer too. Such a unique dreamy sound.
Definitely 👌
One of thee best bands to ever come out of Britain, FACT!!!.
Todays music scene could do with some of this.Just to show them what proper Rock and Roll is.
The 80's were a strange and wonderful decade.
CULT FOREVER. One of the best song.
😂I could probably do without the mic licking but still I love this group and rock to it to this day 🎉
Born 1990 and that song is fire 🔥
Here because my mother had good taste in music.
Yes she did ✌️✌️✌️
Nate Garcia be a good son 👍🇺🇸
Nate Garcia same here
That makes me feel old
Nate Garcia kool mom
This song kicks ass. Timeless.
I remember doing ecstasy in a club called a 6400 on the north side of Houston Texas. Wow those were some nights to remember the music went down to your bones. God bless the good old times.
I danced in that club many times and others in the Houston area. Good times X 😉
Still love this song, awesome band!

legend
Rock on🤘
How can they never been recognised for who and what they were?Absolute qualitty.
What a rich sound with one guitar, bass, drums and voice truly amazing... and what a devastating guitar and killer rhythm section and suggestive voice... the first time I heard this I thought it was some kind of orchestra?!😮
2 guitars... they're awesome!
I'm listening it now sitting on the beach of a beautiful Greek island! It makes me so happy!
Kisses from Greece!!!!!!!!
I'm back in 1985...what an awesome song by an awesome band...The Cult forever....
I remember when this song first came out, and its still one of my all time faves
My favourite song by The Cult...
Jade Shannon one of my favorites 🎤💕
Totally agree with you.i go mental when they I see them play it live
Great song. But surely Sweet soul sister is a better song, in my humble opinion :)
One of the best songs featured in GTA 5.
Whenever I listen to songs from Love, sometimes I get teary eyed. Why? It was such a long time ago, I remember hearing Rain for the 1st time in '86. It brings me back to a time so long ago it feels like yesterday. Time waits for no one. 38 yrs later, I still listen to the Cult. Can't wrap my head around all the time that has passed, and we have all aged. The songs are timeless and still relevent today. I adore this band. And I always will.
This is... legendary!
Everything Billy Duffy touches turns into a masterpiece!
I still want a Gretsch Falcon in white
Mmmmm my god I want a man like him.
My favorite band of the 80's!
Male bands 80's & Beyond for me too.
Karen Zane I saw them back in 87 with Billy Idol I wanted to see them and my baby mama wanted to see Billy Idol
the best of 80´s
Karen Zane I was 35. MY girlfriend 17. SHe gave me their album for my birthday. I was hooked. Would listen to them to pump me up to go running when i did not feel like it in minus 25-30 degrees....
Here comes The Cult. Here they come again. The Cult. I love The Cult.
I just realized after 35 years that one of my favorite songs to listen to when it’s raining isn’t actually about the rain 🤣🤣
Everytime I hear The Cult, it reminds me of surfing back in highschool cruising to the eastside of Florida...Absolute great times and memories....Thanks for producing great music.
Love the choreography with all the old classic dance movements. Very psychedelic!
The dancers are the Anadin Bros, two female, former synchronized swimmers. I believe they were discovered by Siouxie of Siouxie and the Banshees.
@@scottmartinez7466 Thanks for the headsup.
The backing singers are definitely styled like Marc and the Mambas. I love this song. The vocals, melody and both guitars. F-ing brilliant
The Cult were a Amazing band this us my first time to listen to Rain what a truly Amazing band and Ian Astburys brilliant vocals this Wonderful song brings back so many wonderful memories
They should be in the rock n roll hall of fame.
They had to mess up the RNR HOF because these kids can't make anything 1/100 this original anymore.
f that place.
Some fucking no talent squatters in there…The Cult should have gone in years ago
Dad would often times throw a cult cd in the truck on the way home from school, in my younger years, and I instantly enjoyed it. Old man had good taste in music. For example, “She Sells Sanctuary” came on and I thought it was incredible. Great band.
NO BAND WILL EVER BE AS COOL AS THE CULT!
It is mandatory that I listen to this song and land down under by Men at work whenever it starts to rain.
