I have a 5th gen manual with leather and air con. I've replaced distributor and one window reg. And I've switched to fully synthetic oil. It's one of the best cars I've owned and a pleasure to drive. It's not quick by modern standards but it's so well balanced and the vvti system gives lovely torque throughout range. A keeper.
Thanks for the comment & detailed feedback from an owner’s perspective! What color is your Lude? Yes, it is an absolute joy to drive! Hope you subbed to come back for more!
Thanks for the comment & feedback! Congrats on the Si, what color did you get? Hope you subbed because we definitely have some more old school reviews coming out! 👍🏾
You are so good at your speech and flow of your commentary.. this was my first car. Holds a special place in my heart. Dangit man... why you didnt upshift to 3rd and 4th... thanks for this video nonetheless. Took me back in time.
Wow! Thanks for the nice comment & feedback! 🙌🏾 What color was your Prelude? Yeah, I definitely should’ve gotten that shift in the video! 🤣 Let us know what other cars you want to see on the channel & definitely sub to come back for more! 👍🏾
@@Drive_Culture mine was a black 2001 regular autotragic tiptronic transmission that the previous owner preruined for me... but as a young man out of college I didnt know any better... later began my journey into the world of working on cars when I got the 5 speed swap done on it using junkyard parts. I later moved onto an s2000 and now a built motor bigturbo 05 STI. But I will always miss that prelude. There is ONE guy that still has it in my neighborhood! So cool!
Wow! Thanks for the nice comment! What color was your Prelude? Let us know if there’s any other cars you want to see on the channel & click the bell to sub to come back for more! 👍🏾
@Drive_Culture had a 98 base model san marino red prelude. Definitely an eye catcher. Unfortunately the motor blew a cylinder but I'm planning on swapping a k24 hopefully by next year🤞
My favorite was my All White 3rd Gen lude Si 4WS 5spd it came with white Sawblade wheels OEM, white side molding, white mirrors. It turned out heads👍. Would love to see the beautiful 2005-2008 ACURA RL AWD,SH👀
This was my first car in black, purchased used in 2003 and sold in 2009 for a Civic Si. I'm driving an Integra Type S now, but I really miss the Prelude and the unique styling. I always get excited on the rare occasion I see one on the road. Nice video!
Wow! Thanks for the nice comment & feedback! I’ll see if I can get other Preludes here on the channel as well! What color combo do you have on your ITS?
I had a 93 si, a 97 base 5 speed and just recently bought and sold a clean 93 si (auto unfortunately) but way too pristine to pass up. 4th gen was my favorite, loved the interior. Btw, I think besides ATTS, the wheels and shift knob were distinct between base and Type SH. I remember my base having a leather wrapped steering wheel as well. Keep up the good work btw! I second finding a 4th gen VTEC to review. Also, my next car will be an Integra Type S :)
Wow! Thanks for the nice comment & detailed feedback! Alright, I’ll see what I can do about getting a 4th gen on the channel! And definitely let us know when you pull the trigger on a ITS! 👍🏾
Johnathon see if you can get your hands on GEN 4 with the H22! I owned it for many years and would love to take a trip down memory lane!! thanks for all the work you’re doing here!
@@Drive_Culture No problem. In case you weren’t aware Top Rank Imports in California I bet my life they can get ahold of Euro Accord R CL 1 just like they have Nisssan STAGGIA’s on hand. This the same Top Rank connected to the Japan Top Rank👌. Dustin Williams, Throtl and Larry Chen. Appreciate you Jonathan 👍
I’m sure you are previewing this to prepare people for the new Prelude. I hope Honda can do something different using the electric motors on the Hybrid system.
Thanks for the comment & feedback! This channel isn’t affiliated with Honda, so just putting cars on here as we get access to them! We’ll definitely report back once the new Prelude becomes available though!
Thanks for the comment! Really? I never remember hearing that growing up when everyone wanted a 4th or 5th gen! There was always the S2000 for those that wanted rear wheel drive!
I had a 1993 VTEC prelude. I agree the 4th gen was more special. More controversial, but more special in my opinion. The 5th GEN they reverted back to the previous design. Mostly due to sales.
Thanks for the comment & feedback! What color was your Prelude? Interesting take on the 4th and 5th design… interestingly enough, sales declined with the last two gens, but I think it was also due to other Honda / Acura coupes that took away sales!
Ok. Knowing where you’re at with the company, you definitely know more than me. But that was my take. I had the teal dark blue 93 VTEC. If I remember correctly, the only other color option was red.
Thanks for the comment! If only the car was mine!! 🤣 But honestly, the beauty in this particular example is that it is all stock and pristine! Hope you subbed to come back for more! 👍🏾
Would you say the civic sport 22-24 model years and the SI are built the same way engine power wise having to ring out the engine to get the most power ?
Thanks for the comment! I’d say that the regular Sport trims definitely are “momentum cars” and need to be rung out! Si definitely has more torque, especially in the mid-range, so it feels a lot quicker! Check out all of our reviews on those cars if you haven’t already!
For the SI the 9th gen is the last real SI with a Naturally aspirated 2.4liter it has torque it has vtec from 4.5 to 7,2k rpm has high end never buy an si newer than 2015 the new ones are 1.5 turbos which is the same crappy engine they get in the sport touring .
UGH!! I really miss my old BB6...even though it that dreaded SS tranny. (Wonder if I could score another one and then swap in the K24W7/DCT powertrain from the TLX 2.4 🤔) ...and yeah double DIN was the life back then; had a Blaupunkt.
Nice! Thanks for the comment & feedback! What color BB6 did you have? Yeah that would be a nice swap indeed! LOL on the head unit… I totally remember Blaupunkt! 👍🏾
3000lb seems like way too heavy for a small old car like that. Where is all the weight hiding? Tsx is 3200lbs and that's a 4 door sedan with heavy leather seats etc
@@Drive_Culture Even back then 3,000 Ibs wasn't bad. My E46 330Ci was 3,286 Ibs. It's funny how the cars back then ended in 86 Ibs. The manufacturers had target weights in KG. 3,085 is 1400 KG. 3286 Ibs is 1500 KG.
The 4th gen prelude is miles above this one that they cheaped out on . The prelude srv 1995 had as much hp and torque , waaaaaaay nicer interior with sporty buckety seats that have triple adjustment including lumbar , and the dash being futuristic and way nicer than the dash on this gen
Thanks for the comment & detailed feedback! Interesting perspective indeed… let us know if you want to see a 4th gen Prelude here on the channel! Hopefully you subbed to come back for more!

Really still enjoy driving my 2001 5spd. Sitting at a little over 92k miles. Gets a thumbs up often when driving it.

I love this as well when.i drove i e years ago 5 speed manual great interior.

I had a 4th gen si that I later upgraded to an h22 Vtec head making it a h23vtec. Was a great car. Always wanted a 5th gen. Maybe one day.
Thanks for the comment! Cool, that Si sounds like it would’ve been a lot of fun! Let us know if you ever pull the trigger on a BB6 Prelude!

The Prelude is the best looking 90s Honda after the NSX.
Thanks for the comment! Oof… that’s a tough one to argue, but there are definitely some other good Hondas during that era!
I have a BB3. 4th gen is the best lookin from all gens, at least for me :D

@@Drive_Culture Milano Red, of course. 😂 …it was one of the reasons why I chose Performance Red on my A-Spec, my only red car since the BB6.
The car looks like it was meant to be rear wheel drive with a straight six up front
Thanks for the comment! It definitely has a long hood & short decklid, which give it rear wheel drive proportions!
