Unity deserves a 4k 60fps update as well. The game actually aged like wine. It looks superb
right
Ya even with the 4k 60fps patch on backwards compatible its still so buggy and unpolished it it definitely needs a next gen patch
dude that game still looks better as is and better than every one of the AC games, like not even the newest game touches it's beauty, i don't really care for 4k, but 60fps yes.
but then again i don't want to take the Ubishit bribe, i hate that company i want them to go bankrupt and have to sell to another company.
They robbed us
I just want the game to run at 60fps. The game looks great, and I really want to play it, but I cannot tolerate the 23fps it runs at on PS4/5
This was the first game I played when I started getting clean off drugs (heroin & crack).
I moved into my younger brother's house right off the streets. I had nothing. No phone, no bed, no job. Nothing.
I was going through withdrawal for a while and towards the end, I started playing this game. I'm old enough to remember the glory days of this series fondly. I actually have a big soft spot for this game. I loved it. It helped me get my mind off how badly I had fucked my life up for a bit. On the 4th of next month (Dec 4 2024) I will have 7 years clean. Life is going great now. I just wanted to share that. Hope yall are doing well.
good for you bro , keep going
may God keep you and your family safe & healthy
@nicolaNNN thank you. You as well homie
Thats crazy how every game has a story of how it helped someone in life. Good for you though, may you keep prospering 🤘🏾
congratulations man!
Well done ,game on bro ,game on
I worked 3 years on that game! Love the coverage ❤
👍🏾
Yall made a fire game deserve more love
Respect for Hidden One Devs
What's This Greenie, Assassin Christmas?!
Superb game, congratulations. 👍
I played syndicate for the first time last year, loved it. Unity and syndicate ended up being my favorites and I wish AC would go back to that style.
literally same lol same story and experience here
@@Kiwi_2k24 the last AC game was origins.
@@jaughnekow that's objectivelly incorrect lol
@@jaughnekow Finally some common sense.🙏
I like the stratedgy they seemed to be going with.. do both.. I love the open world style that takes 100 plus hrs to complete... but also love this other style. hopefully they keep going forward with both as they have been.
Rockstar will still leave RDR2 console players hanging...
Rockstar doesn't give a fuck about their players they want to do money and that's it
@@NoCluYT I thought about it as well when i was updating Syndicate☠️
@LeFilmMatrice101 Yeah, but this not a big update.. Ubisoft should have updated the game soon as it was released now it's been long time ago. It's not good on ubisoft part.
@@abramslion1 not to mention this is the only AC non rpg game to run in 60fps lol and they picked syndicate 🤦🏻♂️
Seriously such a crime
Syndicate and black flag were always my favourite in the series. Glad its getting some love now
@@dionsmith2405 mine 2! Tho, I also love rogue! Jacob was my favourite character, and still is one of them. Sadly the constant slander against him from journalists and some "fans" has me feeling burned out.
When Britain first at Heaven's Command
Arose from out the azure main
Arose arose from out the azure main
This was the Charter of the Land
And Guardian Angels sang this strain
Rule britannia ! Britannia rule the waves !
Syndicate got too much hate. If you were a true AC fan, it felt like a normal sequel. It was a fun game even if Jacob was an underwhelming character. Feels like they tried to make a more laid back Connor which didn't really work. Evie def took the cake. I still loved the game so much I tried going for a 100% sync run
@@vastos2587 other way around. Jacob isn't "underwhelming" in fact underwhelming is the definition of evie. She's a glorified side character, with only 11 story levels, bo character depth, no hard lessons to grow from, and a generic romance. She's dull, 2 dimensional and boring. Jacob meanwhile was 3 dimensional, interesting as he struggled between the world of a ruthless gang leader and an honourable assassin, making crazy plans to free people from the templars, betrayed by Pearl and Roth, building a reputation with Starrick even tho the two men hadn't even met, they'd left such an impact on eachother through pearl and the city itself. Seeing Jacob learn hard lessons and grow as a person due to taking accountability, was great! Jacob and Roth's bond, talking over thephilosophy behind their actions helped build Jacob's intelligence and perspective up from where he began pretty reckless, and ended up pretty thoughtful and considered. Jacob had such a journey in this game, and so many layers to his character. He was serious and grim when dealing with Starrick or Roth, and yet funny and light hearted amongst his close allies. Jacob had the plan to create the rooks, and Jacob was playable for 2 thirds of the story, as he assassinated all the templars and discovered his true self along the way. Jacob's dynamic with Roth when they became enemies was fantastic! Roth was like the joker to Jacob's batman. I'm sorry, but in no way was Jacob worse or more underwhelming than evie of all things! Evie is possibly the most dull playable characters ever to be featured in these games.
They deserve mutch love yess !
the real plot twist is that after the fixes unity is one of the best ac games.
Real
Nope. It’s the RPG games.
Eh Unity's gameplay is still hella janky and the story is terrible I would say all the fixes just make those things stand out more but I will say Unity is definitely the most AMBITIOUS Assassin's Creed game to this day.
Mirage right now is one of the best AC games ever made. It's the small details that matter. But yes can't wait for 1- all of Ezio storyline remastered.
I agree, probably my favourite
Still my fav AC game. I love Victorian London SO MUCH! We need a WW1 AC or WW2. Great for assassins stories.
I adore syndicate! But it's silly that people slander Jacob so much. I mean, Jacob's the primary protagonist of the game! Moreover, he can do stealth and is very serious when needed, such as in the asylum or with Roth and pearl or Starrick. I don't like the mindless love for evie either, as evie is honestly more 2 dimensional than Jacob and she's poorly suited to the games gang underworld narrative.
@@chrismoore5333 Jacob is an idiot. He's a trained Assassin yet his sister needs to clean up after him.
@@LeFilmMatrice101 your falling for a myth. Let's so some math. Jacob takes down 8 templars. Evie takes down 2 templars. Jacob only makes 3 mistakes. Evie makes 2 mistakes. This means Jacob preformed 5 out of 8 assassinations perfectly without consequences. Evie messed up both of her only assassinations.
In addition, Jacob created the plan to actually free the city, and evie did nothing but discourage his plan, until it worked and then she took credit with him. The fact is, evie has a lot of bias and misinformation that helps grow that bias, within the fan community. There are reasons for this, but those reasons will upset people.
And don’t forget the highlight, the DLC Jack the Ripper, real like serial killer that had never been caught in real life and his identifier is still mistery
@@chrismoore5333Indeed. That concludes everything. Jacob was most likely freeing the Glorious City of London from Templars while Evie was searching for the Piece Eden
As much as I hate Ubisoft.. whenever they drop AC 1-3 remakes I already know I’m gonna be first in line for it lmfao
Maybe they will remake assassin's Creed 1 but the ezio games no because of the remastered vision of them but the only Remake I'm looking forward to is black flag
Just give me the AC4 remake and I will be at peace
Dude, AC 3 and The Ezio Collection got Remastered, and run at 60FPS with FPS Boost on Series X.
@@Mitch93636 Didn't The Ezio collection release like almost 10 years ago which had remasterd version (FPS...), mostly AC2 with some minor texture overhaul and it was only for consoles at the time? This version of AC2 is still unavailable for pc as far as I know.
@ The Ezio Collection is 1080p, but with FPS Boost on Series X, it’s 60FPS. It’s still 30FPS on PS4/PS5.
Syndicate will always have a special place in my heart.
I live in Pittsburgh and the neighborhood I live in was built in the late 1800's by wealthy business types from England during the steel industry boom happening at that time in the area. Since this was during the Victorian Era in England, the wealthy English business types brought that style of architecture along with them when they settled down. Since then, it's been pretty well maintained by the city's Historical Cultural Trust. Because of this, I absolutely loved Syndicate. The look and feel of the game made it feel like it took place in my neighborhood way back then.
If you ever find yourself in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh, look up. You'll see what I mean.
Would’ve been cool if they had seasons in syndicate. Imagine victorian london covered in snow
Frrr💯💯
Snow in London HA
I wish we could get London covered in snow in real life 😂
They did portray accurate seasons in London. Cloudy w/ a chance of sun year round 😂
"Jack the ripper" DLC for this game has snow
These settings feel more unique. We have so many sword and board games set in ancient locales, but these historic games feel way more special and immersive. And parkour is a the soul of AC.
Unfortunately since syndicate, the settings also have a massive impact on parkour. London, ancient Egypt, Greece, the Viking era. None of these settings are really great for parkour. Syndicate especially since they made a grappling hook specifically cause the setting isn't great for parkour. Heck since syndicate, you can't even jump anywhere. You can only jump when the game let's you
@@teneesh3376 The fact that you can only jump when the game lets you goes against everything the franchise stood for.
Back in the day, the fact that nearly every building can be climbed or jumped to was an innovation.
Something has gone seriously wrong with gaming this gen because this still looks completely fine in 2024...
Nah we've just peaked as far as graphics tech is concerned
Well this ran at 900p 30fps when it came out so it was a bit ahead of what the consoles could handle back then
@@anthonytitoneidk also just poorly optimized. Obviously not fair to compare to rd2 but it does it so it’s possible.
Nothing wrong graphics are just boring they honestly just peaked in the ps4 generation you can only make a game look so good they need to start prioritizing gameplay over graphics
People get way too hung up on graphics these days and forget to just enjoy gaming. We never complained about any of this 15 years ago. We’re spoilt now
Syndicate was my first AC game since the first one when I played it a couple years ago. Climbing to the top of a tower and listening to the music and watching crowds became a self-care thing for me. Very excited for this update!
Prior to this update, AC Syndicate had NO FPS Boost on Xbox.
Yes sir and ran at 900p lol
@@seanguinn Yup. Ran at 900p on the base PS4 and Xbox One.
Yep. It's dramatically better now on Series X.
Fired it up on Xbox Series X and it looks amazing and plays really well! Glad to see you cover the update
i absolutely love syndicate and Unity
AC Syndicate is the last of the "city Assassins" games. Dense, urban, parkour centric games which were the hallmark of AC1, the Ezio trilogy, Unity and of course Syndicate. When AC Mirage said they were doing a "traditional" AC game, that was what they were referencing.
Pretty sure they were also referencing the game returning to a focus on stealth and social stealth. Regular stealth was a mess in Valhalla because of the broken guard sight lines and whatnot, and social stealth was almost never used (and never that useful) in Valhalla, whereas in Mirage stealth is front and center and is way more of a focus than the combat
I'm 58 and just started playing video games. I really enjoy your coverage.
Welcome to the world of gaming! There's so many excellent games to choose from these days, and there's a lot of resources for free games like PS Plus, Xbox Gamepass, Nintendo Switch Online, etc.
Definitely take your time trying out different game genres and series, there's a lot of great stuff out there
@XanderIets I've started off with Skyrim. It's a beautiful game and it's super accessible
I just wish they’d add 60fps support for the Ezio collection. It’s crazy they don’t have it despite being a more recent release. Xbox has it but not PS5.
Looks like the cloth physics on Evie's cape are still locked at 30fps, an issue that modders had fixed for PC 9 years ago.
Yep first thing I noticed. Looks like the cape physics for Bloodborne.
Nope, literally all cloth physics on every character is locked at 30fps, so are all the carriage wheels. This is how the devs lazily avoid optimization, by cutting corners. They did the exact same thing on Origins and Odyssey's 60fps updates. They are both still broken as well. It makes playing unbearable after like 10 minutes. This type of shit is why Ubisoft is almost universally hated.
I play this game with Xbox app remotely on my Chromebook and it definitely looks so much better. Ive been playing it this past week before the update and you can absolutely see they nailed it with the update
Syndicate is awesome. One of my favourites of the franchise.
Im really happily surprised about this update. Got it on sale a couple months ago but couldn’t play it because the stuttering was insane. Now with the patch I can give it another shot 😊
I LOVED the setting and the open world of Syndicate.
I like Jacob more because he’s like a player. He wants enjoy his adventure
same he’s so underrated one of my favorite protagonists hes so badass & he does have some serious moments the VA sells it really good
´the clothes physics are at 30 fps, just like on pc...
@@-dny- Hurts my eyes especially for Evie since she has more cloth on her model.
There's a setting on PC that you can change in the config files to fix this
Not just cloth physics, all carriage wheels are also locked at 30fps. So are cloth and wheels in both Origins and Odyssey. Because this is how lazy developers cut corners.
I quite enjoyed AC Syndicate. It's not too long, not too short. Loved the setting and the Gangs of London theme. Maybe not as impressive as Unity in terms of scope but it's a fun AC game that you can just breeze through.
Syndicate was awesome! I think each character had their own cool things about them. I remember enjoying the fight clubs you could go to as Jacob.

Saw this update earlier and definitely jumping back into this game after said update! Barely touched it when it launched. 🤘
my fav creed game in series Jack the Ripper DLC was mental and sick asf
It's one of my favourite dlcs by ubisoft.
One of the most underrated AC games in the franchise. My favourite setting in any of the games too. London is just perfect and looks incredible.
for me sprint on triggers is much better in controller than L stick, especialaly when I calculate manually my movement precisely for better parkouring
I was listening to this in the background and you cracked a joke about the EVIL BUSINESS MAN and that was legit funny, i cracked up pretty hard LOL
Wife and I just finished this last nite.
Great game, played on PC. Story is lite but the city is awesome and Evie is dope.
It is my personal 2nd fav AC game
@@fuzzy3932 I feel evie is overrated because she's a girl. Just my opinion from what I've seen, and considering Jacob is much more 3 dimensional and he develops a lot better, with a balance of seriousness like with Roth or the asylum, but also Jacob can be fun, meanwhile evie is always pretty dull.
@@chrismoore5333i completely agree jacob is badass & funny his VA is really good
@@chrismoore5333 Dude, did you go write under every comment even mentioning one of the characters, how moist you are getting from just thinking about Jacob?
Many people dont like him for obvious reasons and it looks ridiculous seeing people like you trying to defend a fictional character, like its part of your own identity. Touch grass man...
@@Ghosst14 Jacob was the character that carried the game's story. Without Jacob, the game would've felt very generic in terms of narrative.
Will you play the DLC? It is great.
This is how a game should do things (looking at you ghost of tsushima and marvel’s Spider-Man) if the game runs ok on PS5/Xbox series, just brush it up and bump it up to 60FPS and 4K you don’t need a completely separate version to make a game run way better.
Couple weeks back I’ve installed Syndicate. I know it wasn’t the most popular, but it’s a classic and I actually love this game and once in a while I come back to play. I was surprised to see an update on it last night!!! Dismissed it as some online shopping nonsense, definitely didn’t expect the game to get some love after so many years. Didn’t even think it was even serviced anymore. Love to see it’s actually got some good attention. Will have to try it out!
Best combat in the whole series. I literally play this game like it's a beat em up.
I played this game years after it came out. I was surprised how much I liked it. Especially Eve. I loved her move set with the cane. It made for such a unique look in combat that was really fun to watch.
I liked Syndicate. That train as a home base took some getting used to but I enjoyed it.
I remember trying to play Syndicate earlier this year on PS5 and it was horrible. The lighting would flicker to a point that it was a seizure risk. I only recently tried to get back into it and ironically the update came out at the same time. So I can’t wait to replay my favorite AC game.
Don't bother, the clothing physics and carriage wheels are still locked to 30fps making the game unbearable to play for more than ten minutes. The broken lighting was easier to handle.
@@voided_reality6863 It hasn’t really bothered me from my time playing it.
Syndicate was my first Assassin's Creed game which I played earlier this year its a fantastic game and it does not deserve the negativity it gets.
One of my favourite AC games. So pleased with this new update. Looking forward to going back.
i'm soo excited for their AC-4 Black Flag remake. I hope it's good Finger Cross.......
I always felt like Jacob was so different from Evie because she dove into their father's teachings and Jacob was more of the troublemaker and wanted to go explore outside. Evie embraced the Creed right away and Jacob saw it more as a burden being pushed on him by their father. Jacob had the Assassin skills, but wanted more and to do something different.
The manual stealth mechanic was supposed to be in Black Flag, but for some reason wasn't in the final product after being showed in gameplay videos.
Miss the pre-RPG AC. Death of an era and my enjoyment of the series.
One of my fav AC games is Syndicate. Two protagonist are so well done i adore them :)
I love syndicate, great game. London looks amazing. I just feel like it's Christmas time when I play this game.
I’ve been playing Syndicate for the first time over the last 4 weeks and honestly, I’ve loved it. The Victorian London setting is beautiful. The WW1 simulation was a brilliant addition to the game and the Jack The Ripper DLC too. Only need 3 more achievements for 56/56 🏆
absolutely my favourite AC game. The vibe of victorian london is unmatched 🔥🔥
FWIW, Valhalla still has a lot of those features you mentioned in this video, it's just such an easy game with limited stealth and free running that you really don't notice.
I am biased, however. Valhalla is one of my favorite games ever.
14:22 but you rarely get the chance to execute those finishers.
To get the triple kill finisher you have carefully deplete the health of 3 enemies one by one, being careful not to kill them by mistake, and then maybe if you're lucky it might trigger a triple execution.
Loved syndicate. It’s funny because initially I didn’t think I was going to like it because the first mission looks so dark and dull in comparison to Unity’s map. But once you get past that first mission and you start exploring London it’s a stunning looking game. I never played the Jack the Ripper dlc , might have to go back to it with this update
Was playing it yesterday and it's great! Want to buy the season pass now to have the rest of the DLCs! Loved the AC series around this era, as soon as they started to add those rpg elements from the one in Egypt, that was it (for me) I never played another AC after that one.
I was so stoked to play as two Assassins. The twins working together and seeing things from different angles. But what we got was a story that played out as, "Jacob fucks up and then Evie fixes it." I found it to be really annoying.
This and Unity may not have been the best AC game, but I really liked the massive scale of the buildings. I enjoyed parkouring through the city.
Bruh unity and black flag are rated the top AC creed games… what are you talking about… you’re tripping
The Jack the Ripper dlc was fun, the level cap was weird but took some getting use to
Unity should have the next upgrade. It deserves this.
AC Unity actually became one of the best AC game for me. it was hard to get used to at first because the physics and controls are still quite janky, and the cover system sucks, but no game in the franchise really makes you feel like a true stealthy and deadly assassin like Unity once you get the hang of it. i played the game back in 2022 with a lot of skepticism but was pleasantly surprised by the end. I will be trying out Syndicate as well soon as it is among the few games left in the franchise that i havent play, along with Valhalla and Mirage.
The most fun I’ve had in an AC game ever (nostalgia aside). This game was just ahead of the PS4 times.
Personally loved Syndicate A LOT when I played it back in the day - granted it was at 30fps on the base Xbox - since then I think installed it twice because I really wanted to jump back in and could not get around the 30fps and the low res. Always though MAN this game would be great at 60. But I knew that would never happen. Lowe and behold standing talking to my fiance my phone pinged and I saw AC Syndicate TH-cam - eyebrows raised. Saw the full title and I was like aww shit - here we go again! Downloaded instantly and jumped back in - holy cow it feels SO much better. Downloading all the DLC now as well - jumping in after work! - also do not recall Jacob being that bad at all! He is bombastic yes - over-confident yes - too eager yes. But still a good character - Evie is just the more serious one. Fits their play-style very well.
I think(or hope) that this update is the result of hiring someone new from PR and community manager, because such updates are a relatively cheap way to improve their relationship with the community. Everyone benefits, ubisoft improves its reputation, which affects stock prices, we get patches for old games, which we waited sometimes for years, at least I hope so. If suddenly steam achievements start appearing in ubisoft games that players have been asking for years, it means I'm right
Love this game mainly cuz it reminds me of the brawls in Gangs of New York. Great game, great movie.
I just wish they'd release an official 4k and 60fps update for Unity on PS5. Or even 1440-2160p with DRS if it helps with the framerate.
Unity is still one of if not the best looking games in the entire franchise, and to this day still has the best parkour in the series. They managed to keep most of the parkour system intact for Syndicate, but they removed some important small bits (like side ejects), plus Paris just feels better to free run around in. 1860s London is still a great playground, just not quite on the same level Paris was at
I could play a whole series with these characters and this setting. Wish they'd go back to this. Japan has been done so many times already
I think If you play more of Jacob you'll start to see the nuances in his character. I enjoyed him. He gives off a 'I joke to cope with everthing' vibe, and for me that made sense given his twin chose the more serious route.
Its crazy that as much as unity had technical issues. Its one of my favorite AC’s and i still play it at least once a year.
I've played a good chunk of AC games (the ezio trilogy, 3R, black flag, and a bit of unity-valhalla) and so far I haven't found the AC game that I can confidently say is my absolute favorite. I think the 3R, Origins, and the ezio trilogy were the closest for me for various reasons. I had hoped that Shadows would be the one but with the whole controversey around it, idk. Hopefully, the team behind Mirage will get the time and budget to make their own AC title.
Man wish I didn't already have the plat or I would have played again.
Way to out yourself as a playstation pleb lmao
It’s not even just the fps. The game on ps5 had humongous lighting issues where the shadows and lights would just constantly go crazy. Like I’m talking epilepsy level of flashing and issues. After this update I haven’t seen any light issues from it.
Syndicate never received any backwards compatibility enhancements on Xbox Series X, Luke. The only games that did were 1, the Ezio Collection, 3 Remastered, Rogue Remastered, & Unity. Black Flag & the original versions of 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3, & Rogue (which don't matter with the remasters, tbh) are the only games that don't have at least 60FPS support on it.
I really think Ubisoft could really stand to update the other games (the Ezio Collection, Black Flag, & Unity) to have at least 4K support & maybe 60FPS too. The rest of the games still don't have native 60FPS support on PS5 & on Xbox, 3 & Rogue Remastered, you have to choose between 60FPS & 4K support. It sucks.
Although at release I thought the combat was weird, I always loved stories in this violent time period.
I loved this game. Victorian London! I only played Jacob when I had to. The modeling for Evie was top notch, I played her and I usually don't like a female protagonist.
Ackchyually, Odyssey was technically dual protagonist.
I loved this game. The DLC was great as well. I really miss this style of AC.
Currently playing through unity. Its actually not bad at all. The set pieces are incredible.
It also doesn't hurt that i speak some french (not my main language but i understand it)
And the french dub is actually decent
Truly underrated game, especially at the time it was released
That they patched it tells me 2 things. 1. They want to cash in a little bit on something easy. 2. Theyre working on the engine again to make a new game with existing assets again. This makes me happy. Its probably a redux of AC4BF but maybe its another thing too. I want an enormous one with the same level of quality as AC2 Rev which is still a very good looking game compared to advanced indy games.
Picked this up on playstation stores black friday sale.
Looks good for its age.
I've owned this for years. Now I'm finally going to play it.
Syndicate is my favorite of the franchise, this might make me pick it back up just to redo the story.
Syndicate is probably my 3rd favourite in the series, behind black flag & assassins creed 3
Ooos forgot about unity, maybe tied for third then
One of my favorite ac games
My favourite of all the AC games with two great lead characters. Jacob’s “Marvel” humour, is just British wit and humour, that’s clearly how he was written, sarcastic and slightly insulting haha. I would have thought international audiences would be familiar with the British sense of humour by now..and yes I’m English.
I maintain that nobody got bored of AC because of the formula: they got bored of it because of over saturation and poor management. They never needed to completely change it up with Origins and I really wish they hadn’t
this what I've been saying to everyone who keeps saying 'but fans wanted AC to change'
I never wanted AC to change, just wanted them to stop doing yearly releases and over saturating the franchise
i want a world war game and a modern day game, some of my favourite parts of ac are the cool modern day cutscenes especially in syndicate it looks so good
@@Im_helpless problem is that AC is more focused on melee combat while WW1 and onwards was fought primarily with firearms, not really interested in an AC game that's a third person shooter, bows and arrows are understandable but firearms is a bit overpowered
The facial animations are so much better than in the later games. I don't know why.
I actually really loved this setting, music and vibe of syndicate..nothing beats origins for me tho 😊
FYI: The PS4 version had a PS4 Pro update that added 4k resolution (at 30 fps), this new update only added 60 fps on the PS5. So far on Xbox, it's been running on the original Xbox One version at 900p at 30fps (because the Xbox One X came out later than the PS4 Pro).
It somehow looks sharper now on PS5 and obviously the 60fps is so much smoother...
This is great news i been wanting to play it but that old xbox resolution was jaggy
Twas 900p 30 on Xbox and 1080p 30 with the PsPro.
I love playing it at 60fps / 4K been asking Ubi for it for years.
This reminded me when i was a teenager i was constantly sad because my pc couldn't run any assassins creed that came out after black flag and now i have a powerful pc i wouldn't touch a single one of them
What we really need is a 60fps patch for the Ezio Collection.
It's a dramatic upgrade on Series X. Crisp and smooth.
I loved syndicate its one of my favorite AC's unpopular opinion i know. then as far as the RPG ones i liked Odyssy.
Honestly in my opinion I enjoy the RPG style of AC alot more. However I do appreciate the classic style. I like what Ubisoft is doing now with the tick tock releases between classic AC and RPG AC.
For me, I kinda preferred Jacob, his levity was refreshing and I really enjoyed it. (Also his humour is dark British humour, which I really like, so that likely helped me in preferring him) I saw Evie as too serious and judgmental without much success under her own belt, she ended up coming off as preachy to me. I loved the setting of this game and even the villain, although cartoony and moustache twirling (Looks like he literally did this off screen) but I still enjoyed his performance. Tbh I think they were jiving off of Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes movies with this, even having some of the same music themes and beats. I wasn't in love with the combat in this one, but I did enjoy that weapons did feel different and although parkour got invalidated by the grapple, I still really liked the grapple.
Also Unity is a good time today, but yes I think it did hinder Syndicate's success at launch because it was still a mess back then. (Started doing a replay of all AC games from start to finish somewhat recently and the standouts were AC2, (Shocker...) Unity and origins.
I also think they intentionally made the targets in this game theatrically evil because the industrial revolution was really bad, eating up and killing many people and kids as the price of for success. They just dialed this up to 11 because it's the templars, which is their Hydra organization.
This is a great news. Personally I enjoyed Syndicate too, despite its criticism and worse optimization on Xbox One S, for whatever reason it happened.
Story is good, characters are interesting (I'd also vote for Evie, if I needed to, as Jacob is rather a cocky and light-hearted guy), the graphics are great, there is a lot to do, plus many ways how to finish missions.
Yet I need to highlight the repetitive and kind of boring combat system. Thanks to Luke I just learned what it is called and why it was created for this game. It is different from its predecessors, but personally I prefer the other combat systems, even in Unity, although it was also kind of repetitive, and the AI was too smart and annoying sometimes, but there was more movement. Here it is like 1, 2, 3, and repeat, just in different order. Not saying it is bad, but I personally see it as rather boring and not truly immersive. Dodging the bullets is cool, but very unrealistic. I dare to say that even AC3 and ACIV had much more immersive combat systems, far from the scripted one like in this game.
The irony of Luke disliking hyper sarcasm and snark when thats become his whole personality
i got an update on some ubisoft games like ac unity and ghost recon,i like how they dont even say wtf they are
I kinda loved both unity and syndicate. Mostly because of the setting and movement.
This was my first AC game and I really liked it.
I feel old, my first was AC 1
