something i really appreciated in syndicate was the attention to detail, at 10:18 you can notice the birds flying in a v shape which is something they do in real life. The bird at the front faces the most wind resistance and the ones behind it face wind resistance the least. They also change places for the front.
Unity by a lot. Syndicate had many interesting concepts, but most were not well executed, and the game itself is inferior in basically every way with the possible exception of specifically nighttime atmosphere.
Ac Unity is my favorite ac but I’m playing syndicate rn for the first time and it’s honestly starting out pretty well I don’t think anything can beat Unity for me though but we’ll see
I will forever love Unity. The story is miles ahead of Syndicate and I love the amount of post gamr content. For me, Unity is the game. I am in the dead kings dlc currently and it is my 4th time completing the game
Trying out unity for the first time. Never played Assassins creed beyond rogue since at the time unity released the 360 era ended. Got it for PC and im absolutely loving it from the customization to the combat and parkour. Some gripes here and there like the hidden blade not being used in combat like older games. But i love the inclusion of rifles as a weapon class and i especially love multiplayer. Infact i just played my first 4 player coop and im surpised some people are still playing online after 10 years.
Great video!!! Assassins Creed Unity is my all time favorite game in the series. Everything from the world, story, and the main character who happens to be my favorite as well. Arno Dorian's story I've always found very enjoyable and Arno as a character is so charismatic and relatable. I fully understand the hate the whole game gets but I've never let it bother me. At the end of the day we can all agree we have our preferences.
Good video. For me I do prefer Syndicate. I love that time period, the side missions, and story as well. While Unity has the things you mentioned, I have more towards London. While its combat and villain are issues, I can still enjoy it.
Starrick’s complacency could well come from the fact he’s not used to Assassin conflict. Templars have held London for a hundred years with the Assassins failing to make any headway in changing this fact, and Starrick would have inherited the position from a predecessor. He’s ruled without challenge too long to have any contingencies, and the Frye twins undermine his power base (taking over the boroughs by overthrowing the Blighters as well as killing those in charge of social infrastructure and the investigation into the Shroud) in too short a time and too effective a manner for him to counter this. He could afford to be aloof before, and doesn’t know how to react when he faces Assassin adversity.
A played AC Unity First but I enjoyed Syndicate more. On the Narrative Side Unity is awful. Syndicate while it's not terrible it's just mid and tone is so off. The Parkour while in unity is good Syndicate while slightly degraded feels more polished .The WW1 segment was really good and .and stealth is really fun in syndicate
Modern day definitely goes to Syndicate. Yes, it’s a series of cutscenes but there’s actual progression with familiar characters and it’s using Helix to find where the Shroud is in the present day. The Phoenix Project storyline gets developed and while it’s not completed in the games, that’s not a problem with Syndicate itself.
Open-world and immersion go to syndicate just walk around London and watch the civilians actually behaving like real people. Parkour wise Paris is better but if that’s all it has then it’s not better over all and immersion is definitely not in unity’s favor unless the game runs perfectly for more than 30 seconds.
@@blacksheep6415Yeah I thought about that after posting the comment. I guess what I meant was 1. For parkour which you guessed correctly and 2. Atmosphere and tone. I guess that's what I really meant rather than open-world and immersion.
AC unity's customization is overrated because the best armor usually looks terrible like the sans-culotte set which has the best stealth stats makes you look like a clown so most people use the best armor while wearing a outfit instead and the weapon customization is also overrated since AC 3 and AC 2 had the same amount of weapon types
I think arno's character was redeemed a bit after dead kings. It felt like arno found his true character: A wise and understandable man. Elise really ruined him.
I'm not against Origins and the later games, but the legacy of AC lies in the Town/City maps of Historical importance. Aiming the game to a short map forced an Emotion and Empathy compelling storyline. Not to forget, several wars did take place after Syndicate timeline globally that really deserve a AC game.
I just couldn't take Jacob and Evie seriously as Assassin's. Paris was a better location imo. Syndicate was less buggy but ultimately didn't feel like an AC game.
Imo I disagree with your analysis of Unity’s story, but that may come down to personal preference. I like villains that are not actually villains, only antagonists. All throughout the series fans have agreed that Assassins aren’t the “good guys”, they’re just the faction we’re following the story of. AC3 also directly implies that with the conflict between Connor and Haytham. Unity’s main antagonist does it beautifully where he’s not a stereotypical villain. He’s not villainous and doesn’t wanna commit mass genocide, he just wants to bring to fruition an idea of a world that’s ideal in his mind. And in that regard I think he’s a great antagonist. Maybe not a great villain, but a great antagonist. And an antagonist doesn’t always need to be villainous.
For me unity is a better game, I prefer the gameplay a lot more than syndicate, the setting of Paris just has such a good atmosphere when walking through the city, the parkour was very good, the story was ok but does lack fluidity and Elise was wasted potential for a good love story that should have developed more like Ezio and Christina was developed with side missions, and the combat is just better than syndicate naturally because the game failed in changing it. Whenever I play syndicate I just feel like Jacob and Evie are a bit out of place having a lot of humor (mostly from Jacob) in what was a depressing time for England, the parkour also just isn't ever needed from the grappling hook and I just feel like their original idea to follow a completely different character (I think it was Thomas Fay or someone similar) and have a darker tone to the character would feel more fitting and it's probably why I enjoy the Jack The Ripper dlc more since it uses these elements of the setting better than the base story. Both games have their pros and cons but I just enjoyed unity more and idk why they never tried that kind of multiplayer again because it was a good idea just ubisoft failed in executing it. Being able to be up to 4 assassins running around revolutionary Paris was an awesome experience when it did work and if the games do go back to the city settings and classic systems then I don't see why they couldn't try a multiplayer again
Personally? I think Unity is way better, since Syndicate didn't have weight on it. Like at least in Unity you can kind of get the feeling of like: "Hey, I'm attacking templars, this might end badly! Someone might die! Something can go wrong!" And well... We all know what happened in the ending... So there's that. Meanwhile In Syndicate... Nothing really weighs as much, I think I'd have preferred if someone like... Maybe Green? Or... Well one of the twins had died throughout the game to add weight to it. Otherwise it's just... They beat the templars and it's that, you know? I guess it doesn't weight the same. My opinion though.
I really prefer Assassin's Creed Unity I always go back to playing the game Again and Again I really don't finish Assassin's Creed Syndicate Because of the Story
I prefer Syndicate's progression, level design and side activities far more than Unity. I like Unity's parkour more but Syndicate does everything else better imo(except maybe story), that's why my choice is Syndicate.
You can see Jacob’s more extroverted manner as him finally cutting loose having been constrained by the Brotherhood, such as seen in the beginning with George Westhouse. The tie-in novel Underworld as well as conversations in the game show Ethan wasn’t the most present father to the twins (he needed to spend time around a young Henry to learn not to hold his wife’s death by childbirth against his children) or one Jacob was most fond of, Evie realising that bringing up their father when chastising Jacob was the wrong move.
Im playing Unity atm got it on Steam sale. Trying to complete all side activity before touching main quest(completed chapter 4). Btw can somebody explain to me why all skill ranking lists claim that master locksmith is important? by the time I unlock lvl2 locksmith I basically wont have any chests to unlock beside those trapped behind main story quests. Legendary phantom belt rules. lol
One is the peak of Assassin’s Creed apart from story, the other had the worst protagonists in the series so far, killed parkour and killed the og formula. I wonder which one is better? 😂😂😂
@@TheHiddenOne690 it’s a nice thumbnail, but I think just that small change could make a great difference! Keep it up with the channel man, really good stuff!!!
Can anyone help me with ac unity online? Im trying to get the platinum and im 3 trophies awayz just the 2 online trophies and the heists. Itll mean the world to me
I will take Syndicate over Unity. I like the characters more and the two protagonists are much better than Arno. Had a much more enjoyable time with Jacob. I also don't agree with Unity having the best customization. Odyssey is much berter.
I like Syndicate more, because parkour is easier, upgrade points are not related so much to additional missions (in Unity you are forced to do them if you want to get skill points), there are fewer side missions but they are more interesting, enemies can either be intimidated by appropriate gang upgrade, or the length of searching for them is not as long as in Unity. (I had to repeat quite a few missions in Unity because an enemy a dozen or so streets away saw me.)
For me fundamentals of Unity, and why its so good, is feel of combat and parkour, and this two things basicaly it is not in Syndicate, according to this video. And most of people in comments still prefers Syndicate... like wtf? I did not play Syndicate, only Unity and I prefer to stay that way.
Syndicate literally has less side content And to be quiet frankly boring ASF You literally have to buy a dlc just so you could play more side content which should already be in the standard game
Can you turn off those settings and options on syndicate I'm pretty sure you're able to. Which makes the game more interesting. Personally I don't care for realism I like fun combat that's all that matters to me. Can't really call the combat bad for that.
I don't know if it was mentioned anywhere, but the soundtrack in unity is beautiful. It is probably my favorite of the AC franchise. The mix of classical and synth is done so tastefully and deserves it's praise in my opinion. It really adds onto the already incredible atmosphere and really allows the player to immerse themselves in that historical world backed by a modern day twist (because of the animus and modern day storyline). The animus aspect of Assassin's Creed has always kept things interesting in my opinion.
I played both Unity and Syndicate, I played syndicate a second time recently and let me tell you something Unity is still better. Now they’re both at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to AC games but Unity had better graphics better parkour better world design better drip and lastly better Story. I think there’s a lot of bias in this comparison
It's Syndicate for me. Even just the one year extra time to fix a lot of jank that plagued Unity is a bonus. And also what a letdown Unity not doing anything really with the setting is a big minus for that game for me. You might want to add an extra category in these videos, and that could've been a tie breaker here. Post launch content, be it smaller or bigger, how much they add, do they worth playing, etc.
There is 1 route every Unity mission that only requires three kills max. It makes the game too easy if you’re patient. Also hate holding L2 constantly😂
Everyone says Unity Parkour is better, it is because it is not realistic. He is freaking jumping like Spiderman, falling from 4th floor and 0 damage. Ofcourse from Gameplay, It looks fun but it downgrades the realism. Syndicate's parkour is not 100% realistic but its close to realism. Also the population of Paris makes it uncomfortable to walk freely, not to mention Syndicate has carriages which we can ride. Makes little bit fun. Combat of Unity is little bit Tactical unlike Syndicate. Gameplay wise both are fun, its just what is your perspective.
Dude I almost had a stroke reading that comment... You mock Unity's lack if realism and then praise Syndicate?? With the batman grapple hook? Pffff okay
maxwell roth and some side villains in Syndicate should have been the main villain roth himself barely appears in the game and still one of the best in AC franchise
Imo it has the most potential it’s set in a era closes to modern day there’s a lot that needs to be explained specifically how the Templars ended up going from having all of their empires destroyed and being on top again. They no longer find the assassins to be as much as a threat or a priority anymore instead looking through the past for pieces of Eden.
@@blacksheep6415The Templars bought into major businesses while the Assasin’s never truly evolved past just having a shadow network. Then Daniel Cross came along, murdered the mentor, and destroyed that shadow network by revealing all of those locations and agent names to the Abstergo. I would love to see all of that play out, Assassins Creed the Fall was actually a really good story, but I don’t care about the Frye twins at all.

Ive watched to many bri'sh novies and I grew tired of it. And syndicate... Syndicate changed everything.
Syndicate is flawed, but irresistibly fun. I buy the goofy atmosphere, the insanely immersive London, the one-liners, the comic-like combat. This game knows what it wants to be and it does that job quite well in my opinion. While Unity... Unity is one of the three AC games I could never finish because of how bored they made me. I had three attempts at different playthroughs I think, and I just never can get into it. The combat is sluggish and Arno is the blandest character on this side of the animus since Connor.
but personal favorite between these two is Syndicate for sure roaming around Paris was awesome roaming around in London was "timeless" one of the few games i've touched where you can plan to play for 1-2 hours just to than realizes after some time it's been 5-6 hours already lol i won't say it's impossible to get bored playing it but to me it was at least ^^

My friend though was very good at stealth and less fighting combat . That was fun for is. He got to play stealth missions while I did the more heavy combat missions.
something i really appreciated in syndicate was the attention to detail, at 10:18 you can notice the birds flying in a v shape which is something they do in real life. The bird at the front faces the most wind resistance and the ones behind it face wind resistance the least. They also change places for the front.
I always had a soft spot for Syndicate, so much bloody fun.
Unity by a lot. Syndicate had many interesting concepts, but most were not well executed, and the game itself is inferior in basically every way with the possible exception of specifically nighttime atmosphere.
Ac Unity is my favorite ac but I’m playing syndicate rn for the first time and it’s honestly starting out pretty well I don’t think anything can beat Unity for me though but we’ll see
Unity is better but syndicate is pretty good underrated
How can u let evie/jacob stands with the hoodie without the sneak button ? 3:44
The protagonists in Syndicate try their best to be funny, and they miserably fail.
Who cares about spoilers for these they are 10 years old. If you haven’t played by now it’s your fault.
Gameplay systems/side missions/mission designs: Syndicate
Story/open-world/fatansy/immersion : Unity
Open-world and immersion go to syndicate just walk around London and watch the civilians actually behaving like real people. Parkour wise Paris is better but if that’s all it has then it’s not better over all and immersion is definitely not in unity’s favor unless the game runs perfectly for more than 30 seconds.
@@blacksheep6415Yeah I thought about that after posting the comment. I guess what I meant was 1. For parkour which you guessed correctly and 2. Atmosphere and tone. I guess that's what I really meant rather than open-world and immersion.
Have to agree with you, hope they go back to that style of gaming for future AC games!
I am gonna go with Syndicate here
AC unity's customization is overrated because the best armor usually looks terrible like the sans-culotte set which has the best stealth stats makes you look like a clown so most people use the best armor while wearing a outfit instead and the weapon customization is also overrated since AC 3 and AC 2 had the same amount of weapon types
Arno has better character development because he goes from cocky to a assassin
I like both games, but I do fully agree with you that Unity has best customization out of all the Assassin's Creed games
I think arno's character was redeemed a bit after dead kings. It felt like arno found his true character: A wise and understandable man. Elise really ruined him.
Everything you said is just what I want to say incredible
I'm not against Origins and the later games, but the legacy of AC lies in the Town/City maps of Historical importance. Aiming the game to a short map forced an Emotion and Empathy compelling storyline. Not to forget, several wars did take place after Syndicate timeline globally that really deserve a AC game.
I love your content
Being able to be up to 4 assassins running around revolutionary Paris was an awesome experience when it did work and if the games do go back to the city settings and classic systems then I don't see why they couldn't try a multiplayer again
very good video my choice is Unity because Unity is a very special game for me.
The team that year loved making unity
I really prefer Assassin's Creed Unity I always go back to playing the game Again and Again
I really don't finish Assassin's Creed Syndicate Because of the Story
I prefer Syndicate's progression, level design and side activities far more than Unity. I like Unity's parkour more but Syndicate does everything else better imo(except maybe story), that's why my choice is Syndicate.
Unpopular opinion I like syndicate
AC3 vs AC4 could be next video in this series
One of my personal dislikes of unity is that its set in the french revolution but bot much revelation is involved in the game
What about changing one backround colour? Will create most contrast on the thumbnail. Left: Red // Right: Blue
I agree. Just looking at it now, it's very blue on blue isn't it
@@TheHiddenOne690 it’s a nice thumbnail, but I think just that small change could make a great difference! Keep it up with the channel man, really good stuff!!!
I really like the setting in AC Syndicate.
In my opinion:
Best parkour and side content - Syndicate.
Literally everything else - Unity
Syndicate literally has less side content
And to be quiet frankly boring ASF
You literally have to buy a dlc just so you could play more side content which should already be in the standard game
Game play is Syndicate is better than Unity.
I like Paris , Versailles and London map.
Syndicate was good bt Unity just hit different. Arno feels like the fuckin grim reaper dealing death
I know everyone praises system of Unity, but I just have more fun playing Syndicate.
Can you turn off those settings and options on syndicate I'm pretty sure you're able to. Which makes the game more interesting. Personally I don't care for realism I like fun combat that's all that matters to me. Can't really call the combat bad for that.
12:55 that unity soundtrack ❤
Post launch content, be it smaller or bigger, how much they add, do they worth playing, etc.
revelations had the best parkour imo. Hookblade goated
He already said that in his parkour video
Pffff okay
Maybe who had the better soundtrack?
That question should be
"Who uses Ezio's family the least"💀
Syndicate got a exquisite soundtrack
@@ghosty2548 true
maxwell roth and some side villains in Syndicate should have been the main villain
roth himself barely appears in the game and still one of the best in AC franchise
Inner john Cena made me spit my food 21:50
Unity, I actually want a followup between Conner, Shay, and Arno. Syndicate I don’t really care at all about that era’s story.
Both Unity and Syndicate are good. Syndicate is slightly better because it came after Unity
For me it's syndicate, Parkour is only good thing about unity. Unity is overrated
In my opinion both villains are bad but I will go with unity because I love every thing about it
Unity. Tried so hard to like Syndicate but it wasn't there at all.
assassin's creed 2 vs assassin's creed brotherhood
I don't know but Unity for me seems more fun
You should do ac2 vs brotherhood
It's syndicate for me! Everything looks better, the world, story, gameplay, london is beautiful
I just can't stand that someone killed youre father and you forgot it! Story in unity is not good!
Je suis francais et je préfere Syndicate plutôt qu'Unity. Syndicate est mon AC préféré.
The most underrated both in terms of world design and stealth. Ac syndicate is a gem💎. Btw ty very much for giving some love to syndicate, more people should give it a chance.
Enjoyed both but gotta go with unity
giving Unity the W on gameplay is insane. Unitys gameplay is clunky as fuck. it feels like im fighting my controller
I prefer syndicate. Why? Mainly because I love Evie's sneaking style and how she plans everything in such a city like London. And if you ask me what I... *What's this greenie, assassin's Christmas?* Many people dont like syndicate because in comparison to victoria demo, it isn't as dark and gritty, but come on. Ive watched to many bri'sh novies and I grew tired of it. And syndicate... Syndicate changed everything.
@@Erudito-xn3po no, signior. Evie was not annoying. She was just more of an Ezio &Edward type than a jacob
@@Erudito-xn3po yes, I did play it. Completed it twice or thrice. But yes, I can agree, Evie is annoying in it's character
For me, it's neither. I despise Unity Syndicate just as much as I despise 2, Brotherhood, Revelations. 3 and Valhalla.
*i wish we get another Unity tbh*
but personal favorite between these two is Syndicate for sure
roaming around Paris was awesome
roaming around in London was "timeless"
one of the few games i've touched where you can plan to play for 1-2 hours
just to than realizes after some time it's been 5-6 hours already lol
i won't say it's impossible to get bored playing it but to me it was at least ^^
Wait, what happened to the assassin's creed nexus video?
The code they gave me doesn't even work. I contacted them and they haven't got back to me
@@TheHiddenOne690RIP I suppose...
Th combat n syndicate almost made me quit. I just took a stealth approach to everything and it was still lacking. Unity wins for me
Hey now don't judge Ano so harshly. I mean she is a ginger after all no mortal man can resist them:or so I am told. I totally haven't fallen and trust her. I am not totally in love with ginger women in real life. Shut up stop judging me.
Just get unity, it has better Customization, weapon Parkour nd Assassin vibe.
Trust me
I like the gameplay in Unity more, but the story in Syndicate is better
Hell nah
Trash syndicate story is corny ASF
With cartoont Aah characters and vilians
In summary, Unity is better
I agree
