It is possible to get all coins in World 2-3, with the help of Raccoon Mario's tail. o-o
You can't actually. Since there are blocks with coins one block left of another block with a coin meaning there is no way to access that block with the tail (visual around 3:33)
You can't reach most of the ones on the right border of the level though, because they're buried behind other coin blocks that you can't get through.

3:36 Well, technically, if you were willing to turn this run into an RNG fiesta it's possible albeit stupidly unlikely for the hammer bro that has a hammer item in world 2 to cross over 2-3 so it can be fought, netting a hammer to break the rock and go straight to 2-pyramid. Then the cloud from completing 2-airship could be used to bypass 8-1 to create a doable route. Would it be stupid? Absolutely. But technically possible.

Apparently in 3-7, there's a secret exit that grants you a cloud. I don't know if collecting it locks you out of any coins, but if not, then it may be possible to do this challenge.
First, complete the levels in World 1 to get both warp whistles. Once you collect the second whistle, warp to world 3. Collect the cloud in 3-7, then once you reach World 4, warp to World 7 and progress through the game as normal. If all goes well, you should reach 8-1 with the cloud still in your item box. Skip 8-1, beat the rest of the levels going forward, and that should do it!
Of course, if this route locks you out of other necessary items like P-wings and the like, then never mind.

*SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION*
You can skip 2-3 by manipulating the hammer bros so that you can access the one with the hammer on the left side of the level in order to break the rock, skipping that level. You can then proceed to beat World 2, get the cloud from Toadstool's letter, and then just use the cloud to skip 8-1 after warping to world 8. You should be able to complete this challenge.
The hammer bros move after completing a level or dying in a level. You could even repeatedly die in 2-3 to get the hammer bros to move, I think. Otherwise, you would need to line up your completion of 2-2 with the hammer bros moving into range.
Doesn't Mario understand that covid is going around and coins are the filthiest thing you could touch.

Hey bandy r u planning on covering the 3D titles in the all coins series? I'm talking sunshine, galaxy 1 and 2 and odyssey
In specific levels, getting all coins gives you a hidden power-up
God damn, it was going absolutely clockwork until that one level...
The boomerang bros in the world 2 map move randomly after you beat a level, and they can rarely move in such a way so you can fight the boomerang bro with the hammer before completing 2-3, which was the level you got stuck on (speedrunners use this trick). You can then use that hammer to break the rock below 2-3 to skip it entirely. You can then keep playing world 2 until you beat the airship, which will reward you a cloud. Then you can use warp whistles to get to world 8, use the cloud to skip 8-1, meaning with good luck, it is possible to beat the game collecting every coin.
I did not expect to see Nathaniel in a Frog suit at the beginning

what if instead of collecting every coin in a level, you route out the path through a given mario game which allows you to collect the most coins without backtracking

i think i have a route that works: by using the warp whistle in world 1 you can go to world 3. as shown all levels in world 3 are possible except world 3-5 (which is optional) by taking the secret exit in world 3-7 you can get a cloud. in either world 3 or world 4 you can use the other whistle to get to world 7, which is all possible. assuming you have the same luck with the hands in world 8 you can use the cloud to skip world 8-1, and since all the levels past that in world 8 are possible hopefully beat the challenge

would love to see you tackle the dont touch any coins challenge in smb 3, but with the added challenge of no warps, and try to do every level.

This challenge is definitely doable. Here's the route:
Step 1: Collect at least one of the Warp Whistles in World 1
Step 2: Beat World 1 to reach World 2
Step 3: Use a Warp Whistle to skip to World 6
Step 4: Get the Lakitu Cloud from one of the Hammer Bros in World 6
Step 5: Either use a second Warp Whistle to skip to World 8 or beat Worlds 6 and 7 (6-9 can be avoided by playing 6-10)
Step 6: Use the Lakitu Cloud to skip 8-1
Step 7: Finish the game
Also, 3-5 might be doable if you use momentum to enter the underwater pipe. There's one of the circle pillars up and to the right of the pipe and if you walk off of it to the left you might be able to enter the pipe but I'm not sure.
One thing I AM sure of though is that you can do 5-Tower with a P-Wing/Tanooki Suit/Super Leaf. It's actually possible to get to the other side of that wall by breaking the blocks above the pipe. There's actually a deadly abyss on the other side with 3 floating 1-up blocks, two of which are above the screen. Make your way to this deadly abyss and break the wall again, this time making your way back to that block you couldn't hit.
