Great review. I was trying to decide which one to buy. But I could not find them at the local store. This is very helpful. I just have to subscribe to your channel 👏👏👏
To Melinda, if you are planning on updating the font for the ESV TCR editions in future print runs, I guess Lexicon is out of the running given that Crossway seem to exclusively use it for their editions. Thinking through what elegant serif fonts would be good (I can't ever picture that the ESV text itself would be typeset in a san-serif typeface), I would suggest 2K Denmarks's own 2K/Bible font family (their serif option is very readable IMHO though I see that typeface family used a lot by Holman in their various CSB editions). Another beautiful serif option is News Plantin (though I'm not sure how well that will translate to maintaining a compact Bible thickness on the page nor whether or not that will blow a budget in licensing fees). Milo as well, though I'm aware that Crossway has used that typeface in their "Story of Redemption Bible".
I’m considering going to regular size on my NASB Thompson. I wasn’t prepared for how large the premiere was going to be. It fits my Bible armor case but it just so heavy. I guess it’s alright for a desk Bible but I like a Bible I can carry around.
Randy, still tossing up between the Handy Size (Bonded Leather) & the Buffalo Leather (Regular Size). Since you've had hands on experience with both which would you recommend? I don't own an NIV or Thompson Chain Reference Bible so this release is appealing to me. The appeal for the handy size is the smaller footprint and lower price
I'm personally drawn to the handy size. I just like smaller Bibles. My only issue is I'm in my mid-50's and I'm starting to use larger fonts. If you can read smaller print, I'd go with the handy size.
Thank you, Brother. The comfort prints are monumentally more attractive than the Kirkbrides. I'm sure the Kirkbrides have been super study tools for generations: no disrespect,but... they give me claustrophobia. I also see the great difference btw the red print. Great thorough review.🌹🌹🌹🌹
Randy, if I understood your comments correctly, basically I could buy a handy size in the Zondervan and essentially have the same bible (as far as font size) as the regular size Kirkbride. Is that correct?
It's not a huge difference, but it is enough to help if you need a larger print. The regular size is the same size as the Kirkbride large print, and it's a lot darker. It's the one I recommend for most readers.
@@BibleBuyingGuide this will make my decision hard when the KJV comes out. I prefer the size of the regular edition but I prefer no red letter text that the premium edition has. 🤔🤨🧐
You had all the time in the world to compare the sizes of the different fonts sizes on the same page correctly, but you didn’t❗️😱😱😱 If you do a visual comparison it would be common sense to make sure that the passage of scripture in each Bible corresponds correctly with the same chapter and verse in all the Bibles in the comparison‼️ I had to stop watching the review because of the stress it caused‼️ Your talent certainly isn’t in comparing Bibles.🥴
The fact they made the Thompson chain in NIV with premium leather makes me sick a little. It’s sold so many KJV complies but instead they waste all sorts of paper on the worst “Bible” ever made. Hate to even call it a Bible.
Thank you very much for covering these! I really enjoyed the videos you did for Zondervan about them as well.
Thank you!

The premiere is probably going to be the best
Even with the dimensions I find myself wondering "but how big are his hands?" lol GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Thanks! I keep meaning to add something to help show the size, but I keep forgetting.

Gosh I want that goatskin premier collection!!!

Yes, plus the font is darker.
Love that Premier!
Wonderfully done. Thank you!
Thanks!
What is the font size of the notes? Is the font size of the notes bigger in the large print edition than in the regular edition?
Are the notes bigger in the large print?
Hey Randy, do you happen to know if they are planning a Large Print Premier Collection?
They're not planning for a large print Premier Collection. That would be amazing, though.
that would have to be a big piece of goat lol
@@RoastBeefSandwich I'm guessing that will be why not... I would love to see in with red under gold though.
Hopefully there are other options then blue
Randy would you say the regular size is still pretty decent EDC size?
Hi Sylvia. It would be fine for EDC. I carried Bibles this size for years before going with smaller Bibles. The main one was the Kirkbride TCR.
The premier is what I will get due to the black letter edition only
Do you know when the ESV, NASB77 and NKJV will be released in the comfort print for the TCR Bible?
Unfortunately, there's no info that I can share.
Definitely interested in the Premier Collection! Now which translation?
The NIV is the first one, with the KJV coming this November. They haven't announced the release dates for the others yet.
@@BibleBuyingGuide I am torn between the KJV-the classic-or NIV…
Is there a big difference in the readability of the regular size versus large print?

Are there any pictures of the indexed versions?
If there was room at the bottom of the page in the Handi-size, why not increase the font size and bit instead of wasted space?
I like that idea, but it's limited by the width of the page.
I get it now. Makes sense with the pages all being the same in every edition.
Premier collection only has the black letter edition option?
Yes
@@BibleBuyingGuide Lol. Why...😐 Zondervan?
Your video of the inside of the Bible looks like glitter, we can’t see the print properly?
Will there be an esv handy size?
Yes. All the translations going forward will be available in all three sizes.
@@BibleBuyingGuide That's great! Any idea when? Thank you.
@@b.6184 no, they haven't announced the release date yet.

You didn't watch this series or read the written review.
