The Batman TV show lasted only 3 seasons. However, after ABC cancelled it, NBC was going to take it over and air it on their network. It was all set to go, but some idiot at ABC had already ordered all the sets destroyed. The Batcave, and all of that! Due to the tremendous costs involved in their construction, NBC passed on the deal. But we can only imagine how many more great seasons of Batman we could have had!
I give Adam West a lot of credit. With all the guest stars he worked with, there were only 3 he did NOT like. (Otto Preminger, Rudy Vallee, and Milton Berle) With all the "Batman" films out there, I keep finding myself coming back to Adam West and Burt Ward.
@@Master_Blackthorne Yea. My 'favorite' was when Adam and Burt were supposed to pick up the unconscious Mr. Freeze. And Otto kept stiffening up and making it impossible for Adam and Burt. Finally, Adam had had it and stomped Otto on the hand.
@@eternalhalloween1 Bravo for Adam! Preminger was a Nazi when directing as well and fired Thomas Tryon who went on to write "The Other" in front of his parents.
Loved Batman as a kid and Gary Collins is someone I admired in my youth, watching him on 'The 6th Sense' and later as a smooth and personable talk show host, but had no idea how long and extensive his work really was. It's clear that this man may have been underrated, but it appears that he was always in demand.
I remember seeing this in the 80s in Denmark. Outrageously cool. The swagger, the irony and the wit was clearly lifted and used in other tv-series. The Persuaders comes to mind.
Adam and Burt in a rare moment in time together years later from the final episode of Batman And Robin series and the movie I really miss that classic show I know it is repeated often and on some way in the world but I think as a child watching this two fight evil on a daily basis with hundreds of fans out there it seems like we have missed a few episodes or that series has never ended? But with that lose of the great Adam West who gave his version of Batman a heart and humour and was hugely fantastic as for his sidekick Robin well he was called the " Boy Wonder" I think he played it to the letter a bit but he was the foil to Batman and though it was his age that was different from the comic it was his wise cracks and some clever writers that made the whole Batman story work on Sunday mornings or later reshuffle of the series. BATMAN AND ROBIN FOREVER thanks to Adam West rip and Burt Ward they live forever in our imaginations and so where forever remembered on TV and video?
Burt Ward was at one time married to Kathy Kersh who had been married to Vince Edwards (Ben Casey)-she had been on Batman when he met her. Burt Ward and Julie Newmar are apparently the last two surviving cast members from Batman.
I was always interested in hearing more on Adam and Burt's perception of the show during the years following it's conclusion. I heard they had difficult time landing roles due to being tightcast as Batman and Robin, and it took them some time to get out of that quagmire. Even towards the end of the interview, Adam seemed disinterested in continuing to talk about Batman. They seemed a lot more open about it in the 2000's but that was a much later stage in their lives.
After actually meeting Adam West & seeing for myself what a arrogant, self serving person he was I find it incredibly difficult to watch to 60's Batman show anymore. I TRULY Love the Batmobile and ,even though they portrayed the character so poorly so bad, enjoy seeing Robin, mainly due to the fact this is the ONLY live version that matches the magazine/comic in looks .
This show was hands down the best adaptation of a comic book to film & TV. Neither the Superman movies nor the Batman movies starting in 1989 could even come close. Each episode packed so much fun and enjoyment into so little time that it makes you wonder why anyone else would try to make Batman movies, since they could not possibly match what Adam West and Burt Ward had done.
It's Really Sad That Adam West Never Really Got A Chance To Show What He Could REALLY DO! But He Appeared In Dime a Dozen Talk-Shows! Has-been Haven Tv-Shows (Like The Love-Boat! And Murder She Wrote!) And In Lousy Low-Budget Grade-Z-Movies (AW Himself Admitted That He Made a Some Real Turkeys!) He Wrote a Script About a Boy Who Is Autistic He Speaks After 14-Years Of Silence. It Shows What His Life Is Like Now. Adam West Probably Would Have Played A Doctor Or Maybe The Father Of The Autistic-Child Himself. What a Shame That Nothing Ever Became Of It. RIP.
burt had gotten more weight on him adams seemed the same as usual. burts coat looked little to tight for him. love the show and I loved batman. loved he worse his bat belt.
R.I.P Adam West
(*1928-2017*)
Adam had such a great voice.
bootsamou sexy as hell👍🏻❤️
@@mervyncodrington3611 like Batman always said on the series "good grammer is essential"
Adam and Burt, so great together, a miracle of perfect casting...so sad to say goodbye to Adam...
AGREED😊
He's so passionate when he talks about it, it's heartwarming
Both so good looking. They truly complimented one another
Adam West will always be the real Batman to me❤

Patrick O'Riley p
IDK, the show was already sliding into the abyss in season 3.
So true.
Patrick O'Riley Makes you feel cheated doesn’t it?
We can rebuild them.
One of the greatest actors of all time and that’s the late Adam West.(R.I.P.)
LOL no, not one of the greatest actors of all time but a real hoot.

Otto Preminger was a jerk.

My favorite Batman Adam West
Adam West says CUTTY SARK in one of his utility belt...dead give away 😂
I miss Adam West so much RIP😔😢
Use to come home from school and watch Batman . Don’t forget they did a movie 🎥 too .
Adam and Burt were both the best of friends until the end I think they had great memories of the past
Both are looking so handsome here...I hated that Burt gained so much weight ..Rest in paradise Adam 🕊🙏
Is it possible that there night be health problems for Burt?
RIP Adam West, good actor great human being.
I really wanted that belt when I was a kid!
Burt Ward was still real cute on this one
He should not have become a Fatman...

He was still thin

YES HENRIK, the persuaders is other example, roger y tonny for ever
The single greatest Batman
OMG,i don't recalled ever seeing this. I love all three men .Adam West RIH, Burt Ward, and Gary Collins.
Look at how trim Burt was he looked great.
Always wondered why Adam West wasn’t cameod in any Of the Batman remakes before he passed
Too campy I guess
He cameoed in an episode of Lois & Clark in an episode alongside Frank Gorshin (The Riddler)
Adam should have been in 1st Batman movie!!! AS BATMAN

yes, that would be great if he were still in business! So sad. R.I.P.
THAT WAS OUTSTANDING! I don't know why I missed this over the years but, it was worth the wait!
Burt says in some videos about Adam's wit, which is on full display here . Definitely a quick wit!!
I'm so happy to add Batman'66 toys into my Collections as the show still gives me such joy even today.
Gary Collins' wife Mary Ann Mobley was considered to play Batgirl. She couldn't do it because she was going to be in another series.
Legends!
Burt,Julie newmar,John Aston and glynnis johns I believe are the only main actors from the show still alive.
I don’t believe Adam West ever got the respect he deserved.
Unfortunately, this was recorded by the Penguin.
Wak, wak, wak!

Both of them are tremendous human beings and the world is a drabber place without Adam West.
Growing up with 3 perhaps 4 📺 channels I really miss this era. Great show!
I ran home from school every day to watch Batman!!!!!!
HUGE FAN OF THE 60S BATMAN TV SERIES😊
i grew up playing batman with my little neighborhood friends daddaddadaddadada Batmaaaan!
He didnt want to try on the belt? Lame!
I was following Adam West on his facebook page. He would post videos of himself cooking. It was great fun.
6/23/22, 7:21 p.m.
The show might have gone on even longer if they hadn't destroyed the sets. NBC wanted to continue the show after ABC dropped it.
Adam is such a card and that sexy voice. Burt was so perfect as Robin. Love you both Adam and Burt.💖💖
holy interview !!!
I’m happy I own the series

Batman, Robin and Sixth Sense
Bert looks strikingly similar to a young radar oreilly of mash fame..
Adam was very nearsighted. Did he wear contacts when he was on the show?
TELEVISIONARCHIVES According to Adam West, he said he studies the set first, then did scenes without his glasses.
He said the Batman mask severely limited his side vision so he had to be very careful he didn't trip.
He used a teleprompter on Batman
Adam West liked me. Guess he thought I was a neat kid.
That was before Burt ate one of this Great Danes

Great video - but does the HD stand for "Highly Delapidated"? 🙂
I wonder if that belt still exists? Got to be worth something
Wonder Woman was popular too.
I hope Burt Ward humbled himself to allow himself to learn something from Bruce Lee
Why couldn't the guy just play along?
But sounds like regis Philbin

it is very sad Adam West past away 2018 i think
Wrong, Fiona. The late Adam West actually died of leukemia on June 9️⃣, 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣7️⃣, at the age of 8️⃣8️⃣.
It looks like both of the movies they mentioned by name never got made.
He offered to let the host wear the utility belt and he refused? what a doof!

I had no idea Joe Pesci played robin...
Who dislikes this!? Seriously.
Total camp, this. Well, it's Hollywood, so what else can we expect?

Burt ward looks like a realastate salesman
