So if I understood correctly, the important thing is to get the ball valves from Home Depot that have the red handle: that makes all the difference. #Beefed up
Hey Rich, I'm about to buy another another clipper, since you seems to be on point with facial hair, which one do you recommend? I used Panasonic brand from Japan for 16 year, but recently started to stop working, I bought the ER-GB42-K, but, idk man, I don't know if it's man's japanese face that are small but the clipping width felt too small and I had to redo multiple passages to make sure it's all even and end up returning on amazon, I'm thinking about the ERGB60K, a bit bigger. What do you think? Looking forward for your professional advice, thank you.
@@cephhead Hey hey you, don't shatter my dream of what is an excellent looking bear, there's nothing fake on this podcast. I'm currently opening the ER-GB96 -K has I speak.
Interesting that a similar sort of hobby observation with jebao happened for UV. UV sterilizers with enough wattage to do certain things were crazy expensive and presumably very well made. Then jebao makes big-watt UV cannons for cheap and nobody trusted them...Except they worked, and now it's hard to come up with a good reason why you'd spend a ton more for a big-watt UV.
I have the dmp10. Had it over a month now. I paid 100 for to my door. It is awesome, I love it. I’ll do whatever is necessary to stretch my money, for a hobby I enjoy.
Hopefully this forces Ecotech to re-think there pricing (LOL!). It makes no sense to increase the price of their powerheads. They have been on the market over a decade ( with minor changes). They have definitely recouped the "R&D" costs....
Did the "my girlfriend turned into the moon" reference come from Avatar? I don't even watch it much, but my friends do and I absorbed some of the culture just by osmosis
Its difficult on the subject of jebao and IP In my experience, having been so near to development and engineering on massive breakthrough projects. It seems, at least with huge companies, that the people in R&D who make these breakthroughs, face possible layoffs at the end of a project, they don't get to reap the bennefits. I watched a yyoung chemist, get congratulations directly in video calls from the parent company, to 2 weeks later getting tickets to turn off his access. I feel like it's all a lie that people get to reap the bennefits of their work. I mean the kid worked in a QC lab most of the time, it was so Fd. And at that time he had to deal with non competes.
Damn you influencers and your subliminal messages. Just sitting here watching & listening when suddenly I had to go get a can of Coke out of the fridge.
Just like most people that wear the label, ‘christian’ are often hypocrites, most people that say, ‘thoughts and prayers’ don’t actually pray. Perhaps if most ‘christians’ were actually living like Jesus, they would actually pray and listen continuously (like a return pump that goes forever) and petition to God, intercede, and hear more successfully and less people would be offended by them because they actually would love everyone and let God do the work to defend His reputation, prove His existence, and convict others of their sin. Even Jesus didn’t judge others, He simply carried with Him the presence of God, and it was that Presence that did / does all the work. Discrimination, mass followings (Waco, Jim Jones, etc), and even wars have historically often been performed in the ‘name’ of Jesus or christianity, but those have always been mis-sourced or mis-representing. I understand Rich’s beef with reef2reef, but they, like everyone else can be mis-lead while thinking they are standing up for what is ‘right’. It is hard to hear correction from enemies or competitors, it is received best from a loving friend, that knows you. While I get the desire to cause change, you’ll never be able to force someone else to love everyone, even if they say they do, but don’t. I know you both are ‘atheists’ or maybe agnostic, but you both have a Spirit of Good and Love living in you. You both ‘beef’ a LOT, but you both always try to do what is right by others, usually don’t think of yourself as most important, and are raising kids to do the same. You can call it whatever you want, but me and my ‘family’, we call it the Holy Spirit of God. Without that Spirit, this world would suck and be totally pointless.
Oh, patent smatent, dont think you can stop the spread of innovation at our shores. Innovation is the father of progress. Progress is inevitable. Sorry anyone thats offended but this world has no limits and eventually we will genetically modify everything including children because if we can we will! Make something that is super difficult to replicate is the way you can hold your place but someone will always be there to knock you off.
Competition is the driver of innovation. Case in point: exactly the instance you’re talking about. EcoTech Marine did almost nothing for 20 years to drastically change/improve the VorTech. Making it quieter in 2014 was the single biggest change. They never even added WiFi. And they got the patent extended (somehow) through 2034 recently. That’s bonkers. That’s the death of innovation and progress. Now Jebao/Jecod has replicated the wetside-dryside wavemaker for cheaper, and they will have to respond to the competition by actually trying at all again to improve. This process is necessary for the consumer to retain some semblance of power in the system.
@ Yeah. They somehow got a 20-year utility patent initially, but patents can be re-upped if “substantive changes” are made. The patent office is a flawed thing, and completely backed up, so they somehow rammed through a 10 year extension on their patent.
I think Tunze wave makers are about as set and forget as it gets, but they end up being pretty big and not easily controllable. I think it sucks that Jebao snagged the vortech design, but it does look like there are some apparent innovation or changes. Instead of echtech getting but hurt that there's a cheapo version, maybe make some innovation of your own an update them... they are the same model since like 2015. That being said, I would probably buy a vortech over the jebao for at least the local support and more reliable warranty. If the do slip from being a big corporation now, then maybe just get 2 jebaos for the price of one and have a backup.
You are right about thoughts and prayers.

For your spawning schedule, is that not only lighting, but also temperature too? Is that something you'd share to the beefers?

Imo Jebao is playing it safe not importing them only to be hit with tariffs by djt and then not be competitive on the American market after that.

I guess my issue with caring about IP is, really just disliking companies that treat their employees like dogshit are the main benefactors.
