That wasn't nearly as hard as I had made it out to be. Right now I'm busy making an afghan for my minister, and I seem to have lost my zippered pocket with all my crochet hooks in it. I'm stymied. I'm sure I'll find it, and since I haven't been able to find it, I'll just keep looking. I think I'll be able to crochet with the beads now after watching your video. Thanks Donna. I hope I have no more trouble with it.

How do you know how many beads you're going to need?
I generally do a small swatch, like 4 inches by 4 inches and see how many beads I need for that small section. Then if I need a blanket that is 40 inches by 40 inches, I increase the number of beads according to math calculations.
@@naztazia could you also just add a copious amount of beads and when you’re done and fasten off, cut the yarn and put away the rest?
If you can’t tell, I am REALLY bad at math. I need someone to tell me the actual numbers 😂😂😂

These beads are a wonderful color. Do they glow under a black light? think I can find them on Amazon?
You can get beads that glow under a black light - not sure if the ones I used do. It's possible Amazon sells them or even local craft stores.
The pony beads I have are smaller than the ones you are using, so I put some clear nail polish on the end of my yarn and that did the trick.

BEADED CROCHET LOOKS NICE BUT SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR FREQUENTLY WASHED ITEMS SINCE WASHING WILL MAKE BEADS EVENTUALLY FALL OFF & RUIN THE ITEM.👍

You can use this technique in whatever crochet stitch you wish. I find single crochet holds the bead in place nicely.

Making a blanket using multiple skeins. How am I going to know how many beads? Going to need 1000's. How is this method going to work?
Make a small swatch sample, 4 inches by 4 inches using the yarn and beads. See how many beads are needed in that small sample and multiple it out by the actual size of the blanket you intend to make.

how would i do this for a bigger blanket that has a lot more beads on it?
Would need to do a small swatch like 5 inches by 5 inches with the yarn and beads you plan on using. Figure out the number of beads that are required for that size and then size it up from there. Another option to consider is color changes. If a new yarn is attached every 10 rows, the opportunity to string on the next set of beads is easier to do.

You can crochet beads on anything you wish - large or small. I'm doing it on something small because it's just a sample video.
