How do you know when to purl? Is each row a knit then purl or since its knitted twice is it knit/knit color 2 then purl color 1/purl color2? Does that make sense? My goal this year is to try Brioche but need to figure out to either start with the Boho Blush or Biochealisious shawl. LOVE your work! HELP ;)
Hello Tracy! I recommend starting with 2 color brioche as it is easier to see what is going on with the stitches using contrasting colors! On the RS of your work you will knit (brk) with the main color and then do a 2nd pass purling (brp) with the contrast color. The WS is the opposite of that - purl (brp) with the main color and knit (brk) with the contrast color.
I’m excited, knitting brioche is finally sinking in! I’d been knitting what I think is the fisherman’s knit stitch which gives a very similar effects, but was/am determined to learn brioche. I got confused when in some rows, you slipped the first stitch and in others, you knit or purled them. Can you explain why? Is it because the next stitch would be a brioche knit or purl?

Hi Kit! Nascha is worked flat, so this would be a great tutorial to practice with. You want an odd number of sts when working brioche flat and an even number of sts when working brioche in the rnd :)
